Humble Bundle Thread

This is the first Humble in months that I didn't wake up around 6 to check... and it's the only one with a BTA tier that's just kept going up since I did wake up. :whistle2:(

Most games on Steam DO NOT give EXTRA copies if you own a game, DLC, expansion or something already.

Basically - you just get what you're missing, in most instances.

More info here:

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_cat.php?id=13&t=qanda#4502-TPJL-2656
yeah, i thought that i've seen sales that specifically mention "will generate gift key for content you already have"... or something like that, so i guess that if it isn't directly stated, you should assume that it will only give the missing bits.

my son already has a majority of the content in the bundle, but is most interested in the Attila coupon. i'll probably just cruise the trading forums to see if anybody is selling their coupon since 66% off is better than the 50% off that it is on steam right now

edit, just saw this on the terms of the coupon:

NOTE: In order to redeem this coupon, you must have a Humble Bundle account or set up a Humble Bundle account using the same email address you used to purchase the bundle.

there goes that plan :whistle2:(

Heh. So this includes one key per tier.

And no, you don't get the TF2 items if you redeem these. Of course not. Friggin' Sega.

I'm not going to use my coupon, BTW.

You know, I actually like the look of that T-Shirt. It's the first physical item offered in a Humble Bundle which has in any way tempted me.

I'm thinking about it. But if I decide to go for it, I'd hold off for a few days. Wouldn't want to screw up the BTA for the rest of you fine folks.

Would definitely get the BTA bundle if it had the Shogun 2. Not sure if I should just go $1 or pay $15 to get Rome 2 as well. Only have Empire and Medieval 2 base games.

This certainly seems kind of random, what with the ebooks and soundtracks to games that aren't in the bundle.  That's some Groupees tier right there, but whatever.

I remember Viking: Battle for Asgard being decent if that means anything.

Oh look, guess we ARE getting Napoleon and Total War Battles: Shogun as second week BTA bonuses. They used to be in the $1 tier key but were removed yesterday.

Shogun 2 used to be in the BTA tier.

https://steamdb.info/sub/77629/history/

Edit: The High tier also had more DLC, but it was yanked.

Crap. This keeps looking more + more like a $1 tier buy for me.

First the one key per tier thing, now this.

I only want Medieval 1: Total War Collection out of the BTA Tier - and that one isn't really super-necessary to me.

And that's been $2.19 before on GamesPlanet, according to ITAD:

Sega has a history of including stuff for games not themselves in the bundle with their previous Humble appearances.

Main bundles are as bad as the weeklies now.  Vikings; Battle for Asderp is pretty bad.  I uninstalled after a few hours.  It's like an extremely generic and bland Darksiders.

The thing is that Gaiman doesn't always produce quality work. Most of his stuff is good, granted, but not everything he does is worth money.

Bleh how many of these game maker bundles do we need? There's already enough shit amateur hour games on Steam now anyway. Don't encourage them.

So this doesn't have an average, just three tiers.

Interesting. Decent set of games, and I'm surprised to see Stealth Bastard's source being released.

Oh, sorry! Forgot to ask. Does this include any soundtracks?

Better grab L'Abbaye des Morts (The Abbey of the Dead) before the church shits themselves over the name.

For anyone interested, you can get Steam keys for GameMaker Studio Pro and the Android module.

http://help.yoyogames.com/entries/96218157-Humble-Weekly-Bundle-Play-and-Create-with-GameMaker

Steam Key
Getting GameMaker: Studio Professional (and the Android Module) from this Bundle allows you to get a Steam Key. After 14 days of this purchase please go to our recovery page and enter your email address. You should receive a list of your license keys. Please note you have to have created your YoYo Account before doing this.

That is an absurd level of tomfoolery for what should just be clicking on a box and getting a string of letters and numbers.

Yeah. After 14 days of what, the original purchase on Humble or the registration?

I'm guessing they didn't give keys outright because they were afraid resellers would take their expensive software packages and resell them.

A while back they gave it out for free temporarily. And some people claimed you could get a Steam key by re-sending your codes tied to your email in 14 days but even after the 14 days it never worked. It just gave a Yoyo key or whatever and the Steam field was blank.

Basically, I think that info on their site is only for people who buy it through them AFAIK.

*Edit: I just did it again now and this is still all I ever get.

And if somebody wants to use my Yoyo key go ahead and knock yourself out.

I asked if we would still get Steam keys from the Humble purchases here.

https://www.reddit.com/r/gamemaker/comments/3lbxkv/humble_weekly_bundle_gm_games_source_proandroid/cv55w2f

There's actual employees there, so I hope someone answers.

Edit: An employee replied in a separate thread, so yes, it looks like we will get Steam keys two weeks after registering them.

So it seems like the pro version of GameMaker sold through the Yoyo site includes the Mac and Ubuntu versions now. I wonder if there's any chance of getting Steam keys for those too.

The key you get with this bundle will grant you the Mac and Ubuntu versions - you can redeem multiple licenses in your Yoyo Games account. So if you already own GameMaker on Steam, the key from this bundle should activate those DLCs, just like a normal key for a game you own, but which came with additional DLCs would.

Basically if you bought the program before May 18, you don't get the Mac + Ubuntu versions for free.

Is the account page for YoYo Games down for anyone? I can't access it.
Yep, still down.

I'd normally back you on this, but the history of GameMaker is a good and solid one. Plus, this bundle was done wisely, as rather than just giving the tools and expecting good things, they give the tools as well as the resources that successful developers have created to help educate and inform.

Now, if I only could get the YoYo site to work to get the android module i've been wanting for so many years.

i ordered the kalypso bundle going on 2 hours ago and have yet to receive my keys. has it ever taken this long for anyone else?
Did you check your humble profile to see if the keys were there? Keys should always be there near-instantly unless there was a payment issue. I doubt they ran out of keys.

They have mostly crap prices... but you can get both Bionic Commando games for $4.79. Which isn't a bad price, I guess.

There's been good deals on Capcom games over the years but I never pushed myself enough to purchase them.  When the inevitable Humble Bundle pops up I'm going to snap it up with a relish, and then proceed to activate every single game on Steam confident in the knowledge I paid the lowest price for the greatest amount of games from their catalog, without any insecurity about duplicate games or wishing I hadn't gotten them earlier stagnating in my backlog.

Maybe I'm overthinking it.

At least getting Capcom onto Humble is a start.

We'll just have to wait for maybe nice price cuts on the Humble Store; maybe a worthwhile Build-A-Bundle (like Telltale recently had); and the hopefully inevitable Capcom Humble Bundle.

I just realized Capcom is selling Vanilla Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter X Tekken... at full price... and both are completely abandoned and will never have GFWL removed.

Humble shouldn't even have those available for sale.

Not only that but the video on Vanilla Street fighter IV humble page is for a different game (SF X Tekken) lol
