Humble Bundle Thread

You can sell off the BTA games (and I suspect even $1 tier games) pretty easily if you're trying to bring down the cost.

I split it and sold off Spintires, Renowned, an Gods to get $3 back bringing my cost down to $2.xx for Hard West, Ice Lakes, and Frontiers.
Yeah, Spintires goes for $2.50 atm if you sell it to the right person, and Renowned is $1.50ish. Gods is harder of a sell. I sold mine for cheaper, but it's definitely not hard to find buyers at those prices. Seen a few cags offering those prices, and it's even easier to find people on steamtrades

Anyone still have a tab open or buy the BTA and decide they didn't want it? I went to finally buy mine at $5.80 and apparently Chrome had run out of memory to display that tab and now it's at $6.90.

Bookmark and close those porn tabs next time. Or do what I do with the good stuff and copy the link into jdownloader.

this title thread never gonna change huh? lol
OP went out for a pack of smokes.

edit: fwiw, there's a pretty decent chance something by Deep Silver is on sale/bundled at any given time, so the thread title isn't too inaccurate.

Revo Uninstaller Pro is worth $1.

These bundles with 1-year subscription licenses are kind-of crap, though.
Agreed, used to use Revo free version a long time ago before they removed it and lately have switched to Geek.exe as my uninstaller. Considering the $1 tier for Revo but otherwise this bundle is trash.

Is there any point to having a dedicated Defragger software consider Win 10 is already defragging HD (and its not even necessary for SSDs) automatically?

Anyone has any more information about this VPN? They don't appear on the VPN charts at https://thatoneprivacysite.net/vpn-comparison-chart/

While it's a decent price for a year of VPN, this seems to be a US-based one (and its associated problems) and fairly limited servers selection (http://speedify.com/features/speed-servers/ ) based on their website. They seem to advertise their service (and their Connectify software) for "speed" on mobile devices more than anything else, but with more people getting it on this bundle, I'm skeptical of this once their usage goes up with the increased number of customers.

Looks like a bunch of crapware that only makes things worse.

Revo's a lifesaver, though. Picked up a ticket last week where they wasted hours trying to uninstall AVG. Installed Revo (free) and it was gone in 10 minutes.

Well, if you want my CyberGhost key from the last one of these, it's yours for the asking.

So does that Revo thing uninstall those pesky programs that sometimes stay on your Windows program list or tell you they can't be uninstalled?  Those always annoy me.

fwiw Cyberghost is pretty decent. I won't be keeping my sub but glad I got it from Humble. Server availability kinda sucks but I get my full speed when torrenting through it. Something I never got using PIA.

Thanks for offering. Now that you mentioned that, I totally forgot I bought that last one.

I just checked it and was just in time to redeem the key for Optus (it expires in like 5 days) and Cyberghost's expires end of May. However, LastPass already expired end of 2016.. not that I'll use it, but still..

If anybody skipped the April Monthly, purchased May, and would be interested in discussing trades for the other unlocks, please shoot me a message.

Everything from April is available; I already have Inside and Dirt Rally.

I've worked so much for the last decade that I'm way behind on PC stuff.  What do people use for compression software nowadays if not WinZip?  On the rare occasions I've needed it recently I've used a 30 day trial.

I need some backup software.  Is this one good?  What is recommended?

Will Revo remove WebRoot which will not uninstall itself?

Finally, how is Auslogics File Recovery and does it work on Android?  I factory reset a phone thinking one of my app's data was saved on servers, but it was actually on phone.  Not a big deal, to get back but would be nice.

Gonna get that Grim Fandango in the mobile bundle at least.

everyone uses 7zip. It understands every compression format and can create an archive using 7z/zip/bzip/tar/gzip, is free, is fast, there's no reason to use anything else at this point (winrar is a slight exception in the few rare circumstances where 7z cant understand a rar archive, which I see maybe once every 5 years, or if you need to create multi-part rar archives which 7z cant create rars but can do multi-parts of other formats)

Forgot Humble charges you a week early since I always pre-pay. Good thing the bank I have as my default payment method for Humble Monthly doesn't charge overdraft fees. Too bad you can't change the payment method afterwards. Guess I get this bundle for free... until my PayPal balance is -$12.

Also, 7-Zip is king.

EDIT: I was able to make a deposit before the transaction went through. Humble hasn't bankrupted me yet.

Does as far back as December count as a sacrifice for Super Mega Baseball?  Does it count if I've actually played it and not just looked at it in my backlog?

Also, I played UnderRail years ago before it was on Steam.  It had promise, but needed polish back then.  I've been meaning to get back to it.  It was in a Groupees bundle back when they did good bundles.

The Deadly Tower of Monsters is a hilarious and pretty well-executed premise, but it gets pretty tough about a third of the way up the tower, and I got a bit bored, even though there were a lot of things I loved about the game. There's a very poorly explained upgrade system for your weapons, but the game is pretty stingy when it comes to dishing out the parts you need for it. Also, a lot of people with multiple GPUs had issues with the game automatically selecting the weaker of the two, leading to big stuttering issues, so if you have a laptop with a crappy onboard AND a dedicated GPU, watch out for that.

I'm not all that impressed with the rest of this. Underrail's been bundled before (by Groupees!) and the only other somewhat interesting item here is Crashlands, but I doubt it's worth BTAing for that.

The only ones I'm really interested in are The Deadly Tower of Monsters, They Bleed Pixels, and Stephen's Sausage Roll. If anyone's up for some kind of split, let me know.

I use Winrar and I've been meaning to pay for it one of these days. Other people use 7Zip I think.
Used Peazip for years after switching from 7zip. Forgot why but Peazip does the jobs as well.

Latest bundle is nice. Was waiting for Crashlands to bundle and BTA. Too bad I already own Hacknet (which I heard was a great game and I'm a fan of the old-but-still-good Uplink)

This Polygon story about the devs working on Crashland was inspiring and sealed the deal on BTAing the bundle
