I need a Laptop. Anybody know of a decent one for a fair price?

I'm trying to spend like 500 bucks or less. Should I just wait for Black Friday? I was hoping that tablet mania might be driving prices down.

I bought this one a little over a month ago. Runs games surprisingly well for a sub-$500 laptop.

Quad-core
4 MB of ram (1 4gb stick so to upgrade to 8gb, all you have to do is buy a 4gb and pop it in, I got one on amazon for about $25)
dual onboard-dedicated graphics (better explained here http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-6720G2.57274.0.html)
6 hours of battery (obviously less if running games and processor intensive, but I frequently get 5-6 hours at school with Wi-fi on and running various office programs)

At this point you should just wait for Black Friday and see what deals show up. BestBuy had some decent Asus and Gateway laptops for $330 and $350 but were no good for gaming.

Yeah I don't really need something for gaming. Some sort of graphics capabilities would be nice but I'm mostly looking for a movie/internet/general purpose machine.

That all sounds pretty okay but your bestbuy link isn't working for me.

I usually recommend Dell.

Check GotApex.com, they have deal listings all the time (not just Dell). Sometimes Dell sells their leased equipment (I forget the name, Dell Business Services, I think?), and sometimes you can get REALLY killer deals there. But sometimes, the prices are worse than buying new, haha, so you kind of have to wait for the "sales".

I was really, really tempted a while back, they had a really great laptop, about 1-2 years old, for like $250. I ended up not getting it, just because I didn't want to spend the money. But I did get my current computer through them, it's a fantastic computer which, based on the specs, would have been like $1000, but they had a sale AND a coupon (gotta love double-dip deals), so I got it for like $300.
