I won on my scratch off lottery ticket

When I turned 18 I bought 2 tickets and won nothing. Never bought another ticket since. Then 4 years later, my mother-in-law bought me a scratch ticket (she bought one for everyone that night) and I won $500 on it.

Last weekend I lost $50 playing blackjack, but I felt that if I bought a $1 scratcher everything would be okay. I bought it and got a lucky tamale symbol that was worth.......

$4!

Somehow, even though I was down $47 for the night, I felt like a big winner.

Anyway, congrats, luckypants!

Congrats OP, hopefully it was just a once a while thing and you don't play regularly.

Since we run a store (which sells lotto tickets) we see people drop $50+ at times and never win a thing. Makes us sad seeing how much these people lose while the lotto organization benefits. We lost a ton of customers when we removed the machine so we brought it back. Crazy how addicted people are to these things...
you probably waste $300 in $2 lottery tickets and you finallly won $100.
LOL at how many jealous people are on this site

Its that little ray of sunshine the keeps us going. ;)
How often do you buy $2 lottery tickets? ;)
That was my question as well. How many have you lost on? Is it more than $100 worth?

LOL at people who can't be happy for others
I just won $100 on a $2 ticket. That is all.
Congrats. Now that you're rich, what'd you spend it on? Luckier pants to up the ante?
Douche
whatever. That's how lottos work. You waste alot of money and then you win some back. That's how it is.Congrats though.Wish I won it.

First lotto ticket i bought, i won $5, havent bought another since.

However my first time in a Casino, played blackjack ($25 min bet) made out with $275.

Congrats, OP! I went out today and bought thirty, but none of them won as yours did. Please indicate in the topic that this deal is YMMV.

Won $1000 and Red Sox tickets for next season off a $10 scratch off few months ago.

Spent the money on a whore and DVD's.

Last year during a fun-filled stint working at 7-11, a regular customer won $7,777 dollars on a $5 scratch off ticket. Unfortunately he was regular in the sense that every day he'd buy like 10 or 12 dollars worth of tickets. He probably just broke even depending on how long he's been playing. I never buy them myself.

My mom won $3,000 a few weeks back. Of course, she's spent more than that in her 47 years of life, so I'm not loving the lottery. I believe the odds on the website of her winning that were 120,000 - 1.

seriously?

Congrats OP. The most I ever won was $15 or so. I rarely buy them either, only sometimes after grocery shopping and I happened to get a dollar bill from change. Is that why they place the machine near the exit >_>

Best way to play lotto cards

get a bunch of people together and buy a roll

1.00 tickets = 300 bucks per roll

most states will say you will win at least 150 back maybe more.

we did this 3 times since 1998

won
178
212
194

all 3 times we did win over the set amount of 150 but we never broke even

(ASK BEFORE YOU BUY IF YOU WILL GET AT LEAST HALF YOUR CASH BACK)

^I don't get it, you still haven't broken even or am I not understanding your strategy. You and your friends buy $300 worth of scratch tickets and win less than what you paid. That's not really a winning strategy, but if you're having fun then it is definitely worth the trouble.

Theres always the chance that there's a "Big Jackpot" scratcher in there that would offset the loss.

It sounds like an interesting idea to buy a whole roll though.

1. it takes all night to do it , so its something to do all night

2. you get at least half your money back. This is better then say spending 20 - 30 bucks per month on lotto tickets by ourself and losing it all

my cousin once got 50 tickets and only won 4 bucks

this way when we get 6 people we know we will at least get half our cash back

i always stopped after the first turn over (300 tickets) everyone else always cashes them in and loses i think last time

300 tickets = 175 bucks
150 tickets = 94 bucks (took my 25 out)
94 tickets = 42 bucks
42 tickets = 19 bucks
19 tickets = 13 bucks
13 tickets = 5 bucks
5 tickets = 0

we started like at 8pm and the time we scratched off the final 5 it was like 4 or 5 in the morning

so i got my 25 back out of the 50 but the rest of them who went all the way lost
I just won $100 on a $2 ticket. That is all.
Than means you need to buy 50 more tickets!
