Just curious - ANY systems (or computer) - if you could only pick 5 coming out this year, prior to any new E3 announcements, which would they be (ranked, if you want)? I've never posted a thread before, so be easy on me.

1. Red Dead Redemption (360)
2. Starcraft 2 (PC)
3. Dragon Quest IX (DS)
4. Halo - Reach (360)
5. Mario Galaxy 2 (IGN just gave this a perfect 10) (#5 was previously Gray Matter for the PC, but I had to change it after reading the IGN review of SMG2)

With Puzzle Quest 2 and Monkey Island 2 SE coming closely behind... oh man, and that doesn't even include Fallout - New Vegas, a possible new Zelda game, The Last Guardian, and so many others...

Wow. Fallout New Vegas. Good one. Didn't think of that. And I too would put Zelda on the list for sure if it came out this year.

If I could only buy 5 of this year's releases, which would be incredibly difficult for me to do.

I'd have to go with the following.

1.) Mass Effect 2 (360)
2.) Super Street Fighter IV (PS3)
3.) Red Dead Redemption
4.) Fable III (360)
5.) The Last Guardian (PS3) *I'd be shocked if it actually came out this year though.

I see a lot of you listed Metroid: Other M. I was highly interested in it forever because Metroid is one of my favorite series, but the whole rail shooter aspect has really killed my interest. I think the Wii may have officially killed my life-long love for Nintendo. I just don't get excited for Nintendo games anymore and it kinda makes me sad. :(
 
I'm guessing we're talking about games coming out for the rest of the year and not games I already own...

...I'm sure my priorities will change after E3.
 
1. Mass Effect 2. Great game.

That may be the only one I buy this year. Only other absolute must buy will be Fallout: New Vegas. But I'm just now playing Fallout 3, so that will have to wait until probably next summer at the earliest. I can only take a super long RPG once every year or two.

Halo Reach is a possibility. Mario, Metroid and Zelda I'd get if I still had a Wii. But I don't care enough to remotely consider rebuying one for it.

Otherwise, the next game I'm really, truly, excited for is Gears of War 3, but that's not until spring 2011.

Honorable mentions go to NHL 11, UFC 2010, Red Dead Redemption, and Alan Wake.

2. I Am Alive(was due out this year but due to a clusterfuck by UBIsoft it's now delayed till 20 freakin' 12:roll:)
3. Transformers: War For Cybertron(dependent on single player game footage and reviews, have it preordered but not fully paid off)
4. Enslaved(was looking into this game for a while now, but haven't heard jack on it in forever)
5. Little Big Planet 2(only if I see people are doing some really unique levels with it and not clones of old games or mocking the 360 and Wii AGAIN)

Those were my 5 at the start of the year, but 3 are already out. Deathsmiles, DQIX, and LA Noire would be on the list the replace the 3 already out.

Isn't Arkham 2 coming out this year? That and 3d dot game heroes. I doubt there'll be a third game until Gears 3 next year. Maybe Dragon Quest 9 if I have time.

There isn't an Arkham 2 release date yet. Wouldn't be surprised if it was a 2011 game. If it comes out in 2010 I would have to make room for it on my list.

Yeah, this is way to hard right now to be honest. But, maybe after E3 I can make my decision, but for right now I'll post the list.

This year I'm really going Pro-Nintendo, why? I miss my childhood, and don't really enjoy the PS3 or 360 right now. PS3 is decent, but just not right now, not feeling like it at the moment. 360 is decent as well, sadly it costs cash to pay for the online service, so meh. Nintendo ftw, plus with their awesome E3 (I can tell it'll be amazing, just like last year's.), since they'll be revealing the new Next-Gen Handheld (Can we call it next-gen?) plus with many other announcements, I can feel Nintendo is going to be very strong with their conference.

I had just the opposite experience this generation. Started with only a Wii and DS--had always been a big Nintendo fan. But was just not digging gaming much at all anymore with just the Wii and DS.

Played through Gears of War at a friend's place in co-op, was hooked and picked up a 360 of my own eventually. Really got back into gaming and shortly after ditched the Wii and haven't regretted (though I would like to play SMG2 as I did like the first a lot).

So pretty much the opposite for me--I was burnt out on the franchises I grew up with (and just not liking motion/pointer control at all) and got more into games when I moved on and got into FPS games and WRPGs.

Though lately I'm getting a little bored with games again....but I've always ebbed and flowed like that as gaming's never been my #1 hobby long-term. Just get periods where I game a ton, and then periods where I barely game. Still gaming a decent amount currently, but feel another break coming up after I finish up Fallout 3 and Bioshock 2 as not much out or on the horizon that I'm dying to play.
