My beloved 60GB PS3 got the YLOD last month & the 40GB PS3 I've been using since then just got the YLOD this evening :cry:

I'd be much obliged anyone passes on a tip for an excellent deal on a new PS3 console. Any HDD size is fine since I have my own 500GB HDD ready & waiting. I have plenty of good through new PS3 controllers & loads of games. Really all I need is the console itself, but if a bundle happens to be the best price then by all means don't hold back on letting me know :bouncy:
 
Thanks for helping =) I'm hoping to find something even cheaper; especially with the holiday weekend approaching. Fingers crossed on Sony announcing the newest PS3 console & the inevitable price drop.
 
Best option would be calling Sony and exchanging your 60gb for a slim refurbished for $100 to $130.00. i was in the same scenario as you and have had my slim for nearly 1 1/2 years strong now. the slims are far better than those fatty fat heat gobblers.. do this and you will have been glad you did.
