In the Market for a cheap Pc

Well, i am leaving community college and going to a university. Right now i personally own a Toshiba Satellite and a Toshiba Mini. My sister is buying the satellite from me for 400. I've got the Mini for back and forth to class. But i want to get a desktop for all my multimedia use and most importantly, WoW. I just dont know alot about Pc's and i was wondering if i could get some help. I dont really want ot dive in and build one. I would like to know if either of these would be able to serve my need and play wow. I also want to be able to save space since there isn't really alot of room in a dorm. It would be great if it could just hook up directly to my 19in hdtv.

AspireRevo

MSI Windtop with this one i wouldnt need to take my tv.

I mean i really dont know what im doing. Help would be great.

Both of those PCs you linked to are going to be the exact same build as what is in your netbook. If your netbook can run WOW, that PC can also. My guess is probably not. You are likely going to need a cheap dual core CPU, 1-2gb RAM and a 512mb video card (something along the lines of a ATI Radeon 46xx).

I can play wow on my netbook, the first few levels anyway. I dont know how it will do in a big raid though.

My cap is about 400. preferably 300 so i can use the other hundred to buy a wireless keybored and mouse.

$400 (assuming all peripherals excluded) will be tough to come by without either sacrificing quality of the build or building one yourself.

Not true.

None of my PCs have ever been over $400. I been playing games since the Amiga and TS-80. I always play on max settings and the highest difficulty (if possible to choose)

To the OP - What do you have or are you building from scratch?

That's true I suppose, now that Dell has somewhat reasonable pricing.

Never buy from Dell. I less you like to give your rapist napkins when they finish with you. I was thinking more a long these lines...

You can get a ugly ass case with pleny of fans for less than 15 bucks if you don't have one.

Well, he already said he's not building one from scratch, which is why I said buying a pre-built PC would (usually) suffer in terms of quality for $400. I don't think we're on the same page here. . .

I totally ignored the OP's reservation on building and just addressed the price LOL My bad.

If 400 is the OPs limit - He should also state what he has already in terms of peripherals.

But you can get a PC for under 400 @ Cyber Power.

I figured as much. ;)

Unless Cyber Power has changed, I've heard nothing but bad things about their builds. Great customer service, but PCs that just die due to shitty PSUs with single-rail configs. Again, that was a while back and I don't have any friends that buy pre-built PCs. We all build our own, heh.

You could also try the Dell refurbished outlet. I picked up an XPS from there before. Their warranty is same as new if I remember correctly. I've probably bought about 10 comps from there and only can recall 1 or 2 optical drives fail on me which they replaced.

I have to change my limit to 300 dollars, car problems not too bad, and i don't want to buy online. I just don't feel comfortable with it.

Peripherals i have are speakers and monitors.
That is why i thought that acer net top would be great, its 200, comes with mouse and keybored, and hooks up directly too my HD tv, then with the last houndred i would buy an external dvd drive. Idk, i just need somehting that i can play wow on and use web browsing and paper typing.

Good build similar to what I'm considering building in a couple months.
