Indiana Deals Thread

Southside Indianapolis/Greenwood CAG here. I'd be interested in some kind of social gathering. Out of curiousity, how many of us are at or over the age of 30?

Where would be a good place to meet? Ideally in the spring. This cold weather makes me not want to go outside. I wish there was still a Block Party on 86th. That was always a fun place to hang out.

Well sadly a lot of the places that I spend time are Bar/Grill places: Scotty's Brewhouse, Champps, been to the The Spot once, Buffalo Wildwings is good. The only places downtown I actually go to are the Slippery Noodle and Howl at the Moon.
my cousin was in talks with ipfw about holding a meet up/game trade there... its their final year there and was told they might be able to get a room in the union hall for free
A meetup/swap at IPFW would be ideal.
I haven't been an active deal hunter since my move back to Indianapolis but I would definitely be ready for a meetup. I'm a Northside CAG, not the Greenwood area.
That's usually where I am when I go down to Indy.
Well it does sound like we have some interested parties. We should really get the ball rolling on this.
Yeah. I'm the type who is normally very good at organizing these types of things, but I've been holding off in a way until certain things get settled.

As long as the meet up isn't at a bar, there's a chance I may go (lol, most everyone should know my opinion on bars by now).

I actually plan on a Midwest CAG meet up which I've been planning for over a year, just won't execute it/reveal it yet (although it's not just for people in Indiana, for people in MI, OH, PA, and other states too).
A meetup/swap at IPFW would be ideal.
I agree, but I'm really not sure if I'd be able to make it (my schedule is all over the place right now). Although I'm un-employed, I'm still quite busy and get interruptions a lot.

31 here. I'd be up for a meet at some point, but my schedule's hell right now. I'm working full time, doing night classes for my graduate degree and trying to get a new business off the ground. In other words, there's probably only about a 10% chance I'd actually be able to make it to a meet in the next year or so.

Oh, and if any of you southsiders were looking to jump on the Rock Band bandwagon, now would be the time. SV/135 Target had two 360 copies of the RB1 full bundle for $70 yesterday, and there are reports that some Targets had the price drop to $35 today. I haven't been to this particular Target today myself, but at that price, it'd be worth checking into...

And if you do get on the RB bandwagon, let me know; I'd love to play online more.

The Nora Target had a copy of Haze for $7.48 today, but everything else seemed up around the $27-$29 price point. They also had a couple Rock Bands left, but those were still close to $100.

I think at the Target in Fort Wayne (near the Glenbook Mall), RB was $90 or so.

Bad news everyone, I didn't get the job in Lafayette, IN (which I really wanted), so now the chances of me staying in Indiana for a job are even more slim. :whistle2:(
Nice summary. Thanks.

Anyone able to spot anymore Singstar Vol. 1 (PS3) anywhere on clearance? I briefly saw two on clearance for $41.98 at the Southport Target, but that's a little more than I wanted to pay for it. Also, no Mercs 2 (360) clearance sightings?
Spotted three Singstar Vol. 1's for $14.98 each at the Castleton Target on my way home from work today. Only other things I remember seeing were Guitar Hero Aerosmith, Too Human & Fracture, none of which dropped.

Rock band was sitting at $70 at the Greenwood Target tonight. The $30 Singstars are all gone as are the Too Humans, Farcry 2's, and Mercs 2's. They still had the Disney Sing games, Fracture 19.98, and a couple of Tomb Raider Underworlds at $30.

Any hardcore NES collectors/dealers in Indy? I am going to sell my NES collection soon...have to get a list together of what I have. There are 500-600 different games plus duplicates of some stuff, I believe. Also have an original top loader with Dogbone and a ton of accessories. Probably sell the collection for around $3 a game times the number of games as one wholesale lot and throw the system/accessories/Nintendo storage boxes/black and clear cases/etc. in for free. I won't be breaking it up, as it will go on Ebay as one lot if I don't sell it locally.

Also have a boxed Famicom with a ton of games and a boxed Super Famicom with a ton of games. Those will probably end up on Ebay, as I don't think there's a lot of local interest.

Wow, wish that could be broken up or I'd take a decent chunk of that, just don't have the cash flow currently for the full lot.

I'm right in really debating (especially if I have to move) whether I ditch all my video game console boxes (I'd give them for free most likely). I'm trying to clean up just in case (so moving would be easier).

I had a similar debate when I was moving, and it was kind of a pain to have all of my original boxes, but I've gotten very lucky in having enough closet space. They definitely take up a lot of room.
Wow, wish that could be broken up or I'd take a decent chunk of that, just don't have the cash flow currently for the full lot.
Yah, I would never do that as people would just cherry pick all the $10, $20, $30 games for $3 a pop.

Oh definitely understand that. I really wish I had the funds. I could probably complete all of my definite wants for the NES.

Right now (more job news) there's a company who has my resume down in the southern portion of Indy (near Greenwood) and claims I'm one of their top people (has a position in mind for me), but right now they are on a hiring freeze. I'd really like to be there since I know some there and it's a great company.

I store my game boxes in my closet currently, but I'm not sure if I want to move them all one day, lol.

I'm looking at going to GameStop this weekend to trade in some games. I might take advantage of the hardware trade-in.

Definitely good prospective on the job front, good luck on that. I've been tempted to get rid of some of my older stuff, I just can't bring myself to do it though. Everytime I think about it, I know I will just buy them back again at some point.

Got the last Singstar (PS3) at the Castleton store! Thanks again maxfisher. That's the second time I was able to pick up stuff I've wanted thanks to your info.

For other Indy CAGs, the Castleton store also had Killzone 2 in the cabinets. I didn't try to purchase it since I have it coming from Amazon later this week, but it looked like there were no problems selling it--only four copies left as of this afternoon.

Where is the freaking Castleton Target? I live like 4 minutes from the mall, and everyone says it is near there but I have never seen the Target.
Where is the freaking Castleton Target? If I'm not mistaken, you can see the back of it from Dick's Sporting goods from the mall.

Maybe one day I'll run into you down there. ;)
Where is the freaking Castleton Target? I live like 4 minutes from the mall, and everyone says it is near there but I have never seen the Target.
It's not actually in the mall area. There's a road that wraps around the mall that's 86th St. running east/west and something else (maybe Center Run?) running north/south. The Target's on that road, across from Costco.

No problem. I've got so many great deals on this board over the years that it always feels good to help a fellow CAG out. That said, if you feel like repaying the favor, I'm trying to find The Last Remnant, Too Human, Spider-Man Web of Shadows and/or Tomb Raider Underworld for $15 or less each. If you happen to see any, a heads up would be much appreciated.

As for updates, I stopped at the Glendale Target again tonight. The Last Remnant dropped to $29.98, but all the other clearance stuff looked the same. They also had a bunch of mostly crappy DS games 'temporarily reduced' to $10 and Guitar Hero World Tour (game only/360) marked down to $39.99. Driving between home, work and IUPUI, I pass the Glendale, Nora, Castleton, North 31 and 116th St. Targets, so I'll try to keep the thread updated on those locations from week to week.
Where is the freaking Castleton Target? It's the last stoplight before the road curves to become Center Run Dr.

Or alternatively, coming from the 82nd street side, it's the cross street that has the Good Year store on the opposite side and the strip malls on the other (Center Run Dr.).

I'll keep an eye out for your stuff, maxfisher.

Not to be a dick TMK, but companies will use that line to keep good candidates from taking another job. There might be another dozen people that got the same message. My unsolicited advice is to continue hitting the trail looking for other opportunities.

Technically, they haven't been taking resumes or had any job postings for quite a while. He's the entire reason my resume is with them because my Dad was golfing with him, told him I was still looking for a job, and he said he'll take the resume. It's not one of those companies I don't know the people at very well and was applying to (like other jobs I applied for).

Now if this was a company I barely know who said the same thing (like a local company I applied to 10 or so positions before), then I wouldn't buy it.

You should be fine then. I didn't want you to sit around for weeks waiting for a call.

The DC area is far and very expensive. I understand your reluctance on moving there. It'd be better if they at least had better weather than here. Too bad you can't get a job offer in Miami or something.

I'm not just going to wait around for something (I didn't do that even when I had an interview). Overall, lets just say I really hope to stay in Indiana (lived here almost all my life).

If I got a job offer in Miami, I'd be all over it (I have no hesitation moving down to FL, even though they might have a hurricane, mostly because I'm too tired of snow and hate driving in it).

Anyway, Friday is going to be an awesome day using my store credit on KZ2 (at the GameStop at Jefferson Pointe) and then I'll buy Star Ocean 4 somewhere (if I can get more GS credit, I'll buy there. If not, I will buy from elsewhere).

Anyone use Twitter? We could coordinate some hashtags to Tweet deals to just the Indiana, Indy, FW, Southbend people.

I'm going to start using #fwcag when I find stuff in stores.

Ah. Lucky you beat me to that one. That's the Target that is a couple minutes from my office. Clearance stuff tends to sell quickly there. If something gets cheap enough, then it sells to me.

Mana Knight: It would have to be a darn good job in Miami. Cost of living there is insane. A house that costs $150,000 in Indy will be $1.5 million in Miami. An apartment that is $500-1,000 a month here will be $3,000-5,000 a month there. There are definitely affordable places to live in Florida, but Miami isn't one of them. Check out central and northern Florida. Orlando is very affordable.

You can find me at twitter.com/ObiBen

If anyone wants to try and pick up Halo Wars early I saw it on the shelves at the Meijer at 126th and Keystone last night. Didn't have a price tag, so I don't know that they are selling it yet.

never used twitter. basically if you set up fwcag on twitter any of us who choose to sign up would receive a text message or email on whatever from any of us signed up on twitter whenever one of us finds a local deal and posts it. is that basically how it works? can we choose to ignore somoene if they become annoying or stop posting about fw deals and just post junk? hey I know i could end up being that person too.
Next I went to check out Deals which is right across the street from the Best Buy to see if they had those $3 original Xbox games, but they either didn't get any or they sold out quick. I checked the entire store, including the food aisle just to make sure, no dice.
Hey guys, my sister was in there the other day and said she seen these so, I just went and found them. They are right behind the registers on the left hand side of the Greenwood Deals. I went ahead and bought 1 of everything for the heck of it. So here is what they had, and they are all Original Xbox games.

Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow
Spy Hunter 2 (I got the last one :p)
Pulse Racer
High Rollers Casino
Knight's Apprentice: Memorick's Adventures
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 (Platinum Hit box)
Dead To Rights (Platinum Hit box)
Power Drome
IHRA Motorsports Drag Racing 2004
IHRA Motorsports Professional Drag Racing 2005
Kelly Slaters's Pro Surfer
Defender

So if anyone is interested in those they had quite a few of most everything. :)

Stopped by the local Meijer in Castleton and saw that Grand Theft Auto IV was dropped to $39.99.
One strange deal I saw there was for PS3s. If you buy one they give you some piece of network equipment free. Was kind of confused on what they meant.
Also they still have two Collector Edition boxes of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King for $69.99.

Hey guys did, my rounds around Greenwood again today, here's what I seen. Hit up Circuit City even thought I knew they didn't have much of anything. Sure enough, they had no console games at all. Pc games were pretty slim pickings and were at 60% off. The store was really bare and I don't see it lasting much longer. Tv's were 40% off and not a lot of them left either. Next I hit up Best Buy. I seen last night in their rewards zone deals of the week, they have Mercinaries 2 (360) for $10. So I went and sure enough they had about 10 copies left. I went to check out the guy asked if I had a rewards card and he scaned it and the game and the total came to $32.xx. He seen my face and knew something was wrong and asked had I seen it cheaper, and I said ya I seen it on the net for $10, and sure enough he hit 1 key and it rang up $10. I thought that was a tad sly but regardless was happy with the outcome. For those of you intersted that deal only last until tonight (2/28), sorry for the late info but i just seen it yesterday myself. Next I hit up the Target clearance. Nothing tickled my fancy there. They had about 3 copies of Tomb Raider Underworld (360) for $29.xx, 1 copy of The Last Reminant (360) for $29.xx, 1 copy of Unreal Tournament 3 (360) for $19.xx and a DS game which slips my mind atm. That was all they had gaming wise in the clearance area. I'm watching the Underworld and Last Reminant, but they are still rather new and I feel with time these will drop lower than $30. So all I walked away with from the day was Mercs 2. Hope this helps you guys, and happy hunting.

The Circuit City in Columbus had a few 360 games left at 60% off. I didn't pay much attention but I did notice a bunch of copies of Halo 3 and a few collector's editions. Its pretty picked over.

Hey guys, I just made a short list of some PS2/360 games along with a PS3 accessory that the Greenwood Kmart has right now.

:360:Unreal Tournament 3 - 19.99
:360:PGR4 - 19.99
:360:Bully Schoolyard Edition - 19.99
:360:Burnout Paradise - 19.99
:360:Mass Effect - 19.99
:360:Fracture - 19.99
:360:Fifa Soccer 08 - 20.00
:360:NHL 08 - 20.00
:360:TNA Impact - 19.99
:360:Fuzion Frenzy - 19.99
:360:Front Lines: Fuel of War - 19.99

:ps2:Fifa 08 - 9.99
:ps2:NHL 08 - 9.99
:ps2:NHL 07 - 5.99
:ps2:NHL2k8 - 5.99
:ps2:NHL 2K7 - 5.99

:ps3:Duelcharger AC - 8.00

Hope that helps,
Seth

Great recaps Tallboy and Trollsmeesh. Thanks!

If any Indy CAGs spot some SFIV fightpads (PS3) in stock somewhere, please post. I doubt I'll have any luck, but I'm attributing my suckiness in the game to not having the right accessory.

I'm also looking for the fightpads for either system if someone comes across them.

Had a small brawl in the Greenwood CC this afternoon. Some guy got all crazy just because the prices were too high in his opinion. Cops were called after they made a quick getaway. He's lucky he didn't get choked out by one of the other associates there.

Ya I've seen lots of 360 ones at Best Buy, I haven't checked for ps3 ones. Will do next time I'm in. I believe Best Buy is the only place that sells them (well thats the only places I've seen them be sold).

Thanks mate, just trying to help.

Besides, working there allows me a lot of time to check the deals for you guys. ;)

Yup, thanks...I managed to get an order in for one before they went OOS. Hopefully, it doesn't fall through. Saves me time and money from having to run around town looking for one.

Checked the Castleton Target on my lunch. Last Remnant dropped from $41.98 to $29.98 and they had one left. Everything else was still at the $20 and $30 points with no drops that I noticed. There were about half as many games as were there last week (quantity, not titles), so someone's buying them at those price points.

Stopped at the 116th St. & Glendale Targets tonight. Everything was same as last week, except they put some dual PS3 controller chargers out at Glendale. Original price was $19.95 and they were marked down to $13.98.
