Welcome to the Japanese niche games deals and discussion thread!  Feel free to talk about local and import Japanese games here.  Our goal is to maintain a thread dedicated to active deals on niche games including RPGs, Visual Novels (VN), Shoot'em ups (Shmups), Musou, etc.  Also maintained are pre-orders for standard, limited and collector's edition games with key release dates provided.

I've wikified the thread to make it more friendly and open to others that can actively update with important information. You can find the wiki post directly below this one.

NOTE:  Please, leave the censorship discussion away from this thread.  It's common for japanese games to have questionable content outside of the country.  We want to keep discussions to the game itself and not about cultural/societal tolerance.

This brings back fond memories of my first order with DD (it was Deep Discount DVD then) 10 years ago.

I'd try out this deal, but my physical address is banned from DD. Over a decade ago I ordered a $300-400 package of anime, I waited like 2 months or so and it never arrived. I bug their CS and they send out a replacement package, it never arrives. They sent out like 3 replacements all of which never showed up. DD basically said you, you're the problem, we're not sending you any more replacements. I tried placing a different order shortly after and noticed I was banned.

6 months after, reading news on Usenet. DD was forced to change their shipper due to rampant theft, the cops busted a guy who entirely filled his garage with anime DVDs I'm still banned a decade later of course.

Get people so hyped up that they can't get a physical copy of a game that they'll get desperate enough and then have to buy digital to compensate.

There's also Amiibo though. I'll assume they're doing a little better these days since I don't hear nearly as many complaints, but for a long time many of them were in extremely short supply.

They're freaking figures, man. Just make more.

I bit the bullet and bought conquest at bestbuy. I also did the map pack and revelations which was good deal. All for $64,17.

They're doing deal when you buy conquest or birthright game you get $5 off the map pack and $5 off the revelations which is nice deal. Plus gamer club I got the game for $31.99 the map pack $12.99 and revelations for $14.99 plus tax.

I'll get conquest via DLC..

I'm still hopeful for restock, but not sure so at least I'll have the game at a decent deal if restock does not pan out.. I've seen rumors on it someone called Nintendo and they said something to that effect, but they probably just wanted the person to stop calling them. Sounds like a lot of people are calling Nintendo.

If no restock I'm fine with it. I'm not buying from ebay max I'd pay would be $120, but not $200 or $400.. I rather get a ps4 or first 4 figure for that amount..

Speaking of artbook The artbook for FE:awakening is coming in August. $26 from amazon. 380 pages of FE goodness.

The final Make War Not Love bundle is available. It includes Gunstar Heroes as well as Renegade Ops and Viking Battle for Asgard. Apparently if you signed up for their mailing list before to get the previous bundle key, you don't need to do anything and it shouldn't let you click "Redeem Prize". For those that didn't, you'll have to click it and subscribe to their mailing list as well as confirm it. You should get the code within a 3 days via email.
