Welcome to the Japanese niche games deals and discussion thread!  Feel free to talk about local and import Japanese games here.  Our goal is to maintain a thread dedicated to active deals on niche games including RPGs, Visual Novels (VN), Shoot'em ups (Shmups), Musou, etc.  Also maintained are pre-orders for standard, limited and collector's edition games with key release dates provided.

I've wikified the thread to make it more friendly and open to others that can actively update with important information. You can find the wiki post directly below this one.

NOTE:  Please, leave the censorship discussion away from this thread.  It's common for japanese games to have questionable content outside of the country.  We want to keep discussions to the game itself and not about cultural/societal tolerance.

It's hard to get them to do shit by eMail, but they'll take care if it really quickly by phone.

Sometimes they are still hard to reach by phone but I've had the best luck actually speaking to someone between 5 and 8pm EST during the week. It's always the same guy, too. I wonder if he's the only one running their customer service department?

Yeah, I was going to say 2 days is a best case scenario, and unlikely to happen. NISA can be really good, or really bad getting back to emails, but I've found the phone to be way better.

I actually just got an email reply back from Gamestop that was about 3 months later, how bad is that? I actually called them after a few days, when I realized an email reply wasn't coming.

I've emailed them a few times before. I've never had them entirely fail to reply within 4-5 days at the most. But seeing as that has happened to you guys, I'm going to set my calendar to remind me to keep hassling them weekly...

They're good at getting back to emails once you've actually made contact. Once that's going you can back and forth with response times you'd normally expect. It's just the initial wait for them to open your service ticket or something, I don't know what the is wrong there.

The Atelier game was released in January.

I'm guessing NISA wants to save money and ship them together.

Stranger of the City is cheaper on Amazon/Best Buy with the 20% discount.

I want Atelier Escha&Logy but not that badly (especially when the other Atelier vita games are digital only)

NISA is not replying to emails. (2 emails, ~a month has passed).

I called them a few times but they're not picking up.

After a few minutes on hold, the call automatically goes to voicemail.

A voicemail was left a week ago but they haven't followed up.

After this fiaso, I'm done with the NISA online store.

I'm guessing they'v been busy putting out fires regarding the Disgaea PC physical edition. I got an e-mail saying there was a delay with the physical items and today it FINALLY shipped so maybe they've been getting flooded with emails.

For those that care Beat Blades Haruka did come out for PC this week from Mangagamer. This whole week Mangagamer is extending the pre-order discount because you couldn't buy from them for about a month. The bad news is that now they wont be doing the buy on Mangagamer and get a Steam key as well, which is a shame. Still unsure about this game, but I'll likely get it. I'm more unsure of my pre-order of The Division next week....really afraid the end game will be poop...sorry about the off topic.

Not a bad trailer. I'm glad they'll talk during the casino games at least. Would've preferred seeing the character models but whatevs. Got a good look at some more details like costumes and points.

I'm still trying to decide if DoAX3 is worth it. I have no problem with the type of contents, just a matter if there is enough contents worth paying for.

I also plan to import Gundam Breaker 3 and Super Robot, so that's going to be a lot already, and I paid for that Angewomon figure. Ugh, wish import wasn't so expensive.
