Welcome to the Japanese niche games deals and discussion thread!  Feel free to talk about local and import Japanese games here.  Our goal is to maintain a thread dedicated to active deals on niche games including RPGs, Visual Novels (VN), Shoot'em ups (Shmups), Musou, etc.  Also maintained are pre-orders for standard, limited and collector's edition games with key release dates provided.

I've wikified the thread to make it more friendly and open to others that can actively update with important information. You can find the wiki post directly below this one.

NOTE:  Please, leave the censorship discussion away from this thread.  It's common for japanese games to have questionable content outside of the country.  We want to keep discussions to the game itself and not about cultural/societal tolerance.

Our CAG Japanese Niche Games Thread also has a community on PS4, where you can interact and game with other members of the thread.

Our moderators are: Draekon, Las_Hole, and Waffleswanton

You can basically friend any of our members, or any moderator, and you will be able to request to join the community under "Communities friends are in" tab, and a mod will approve your request.

You can also leave your PSN ID in the thread, saying you want to join, and we can invite you directly as well.

Twice in a Lifetime was The Finger Poke of Doom for me, not even Daniel Bryan's WrestleMania moment in 2014 was able to keep my interest going. I still watch the Royal Rumble yearly tho.

I don't mind if they make the characters strong in Fear Effect, but it's gotta have the sexy too. More Bayonetta, less whatever the hell they were going for with Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear.

 
I have a question for the CAG Vita clan:

Since Bamco is royally screwing us on Hallow Realization, have any of you considered where to pre-order the VITA version from?  I saw that Rice Digital has is for $44.99, but is there another preferred place for us?  Also, have any of you pre-ordered God Eater 2 Resurrection in anticipation of Bamco giving us the finger on that one as well?

As someone who kept up with the Hyperdimension releases from Mk2 on, I lost a little interest around Rebirth 3. I haven't checked out Medagdimension very much, but I might not be able to pass that up.

 
I'm personally waiting for at least close to $20 for Megademension Neptunia myself...i'm guessing it will happen...also later this year.

 
Looks like Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart is going to be on Steam April 18th.

Not surprising since all Vita games, especially Nep ones, seem to be moving to Steam recently.

What we knew all along has been finally all but been confirmed.   Zelda Wii U is being delayed and released alongside the NX in order to bolster sales for the new system. 

Just waiting for the touch screen controller reveal now.  I could totally see those no-button controllers being the free crappy pack-ins with the system.  But there will have to be some sort of fancy Wii U Gamepad/3DS/tablet controller reveal as a separate purchase. 

This Christmas is going to be a big launch for Nintendo.  It's going to be really hard to track down a day1 NX just like it was with the Wii and the Wii U.  Hopefully the launch gets delayed into February during the retail holiday hangover.  It better launch with more than crappy thumbstick HD space.

WiiU wasn't hard to find day one at all. Not sure where you're getting that from.

 
Suprise no one got excited for the Neptune VS Sega Hard Girls...this looks more like a Neptune game i'd play (also helps I saw most of that anime). Color me $15 buy point excited!
