Welcome to the Japanese niche games deals and discussion thread!  Feel free to talk about local and import Japanese games here.  Our goal is to maintain a thread dedicated to active deals on niche games including RPGs, Visual Novels (VN), Shoot'em ups (Shmups), Musou, etc.  Also maintained are pre-orders for standard, limited and collector's edition games with key release dates provided.

I've wikified the thread to make it more friendly and open to others that can actively update with important information. You can find the wiki post directly below this one.

NOTE:  Please, leave the censorship discussion away from this thread.  It's common for japanese games to have questionable content outside of the country.  We want to keep discussions to the game itself and not about cultural/societal tolerance.

Checked them out. No special music. Just 2 pictures and a lock screen picture. The lock screen for B-2 is pretty nice. B-1 has a cute content manager puni skin. Not much but at least it was free.

 
...and I just grabbed the new Guilty Gear for $30 digitally. I really am cheap when I'm low on money. But now I'm broke for games for a bit. Probably. Aww poor me lol.   :-({|=

Good ol Amazon. They packed my Odin Sphere inside of an envelope and then packed that envelope inside of a huge ass box.

Also didn't realize there was an artbook for all pre-orders, that was a nice surprise since I cancelled my Story Book edition.

Pre-ordered it on Friday, and i didn't even notice anything about it on there.

Also where'd you get Guilty Gear for 30$ digitally? The new one Revelator?

 
Yeah it wasn't listed last week so that's awesome! I hope I get one, but mine is Vita so I don't know if that matters. Yeah, I got Revelator from someone on CAG actually who had to get rid of it tonight. I might be able to find another cheaper copy from somebody if anybody wants it, I don't know if it'd be $30 but I can let you know if I found out. I like to help when I can find a good deal, it's just usually there's only one copy. There's someone selling the New Fairy Fencer F Dark Advent for PS4, I think they wanted $55 tho, but it's like a month early if anyone really wants it. I don't remember what else actually.

Anyone play the Korean mobile version or the asian PS4 version of Qurare?  The art looks nice :p .

I wonder why they just didn't bring it to mobile devices in English (unless there is one and I can't find it).  It is odd to port these type of free to play games on a console since they are usually made with mobile in mind (stamina refreshes).  Unless it is some type of competitive MOBA, these type of games just seem doomed to fail on non-mobile devices.

I've been following news about it a little bit since this article

Probably the most interesting bit relevant to what you said is that they claim they aren't super interested in the monetization but they wanted to practice releasing one of their type of games on a console and interacting with that community, etc. I'm sure they're still interested in making money though, of course, but they acknowledge it's kind of experimental.

I tried the Asian version a little, but really not much at all. It seems mobile-like, as you'd expect. You enter a stage and the girl is running at a constant speed. There are three lanes, you can change lanes and jump to avoid obstacles / collect currency items. If you got enough of the items by the end of the run there's typically CCG-ish style battle. If I recall it's not exactly traditional turn-based, it's more like the cards have abilities you can fire and they have cooldowns, so a little bit more active.

I still didn't really get through the tutorial, so there could be more. I knew it was coming here eventually so I just decided to put off playing it until then.

But yeah, I'm mostly interested in the art and character designs. I really like the main character you play as. Cat on the head and... A lightbulb at the end of her hair?

A few weeks ago a few people were posting about some import site they liked better than play-asia. I think it was located in Eastern Europe, but I can't remember the name. I tried going back through a bunch of pages, but can't find it. The website  had a picture of a garage on it. Anyone have any idea which site this could be?

and they are not shipping it,

called them they said " we have few problem at warehouse do you want me to cancel your order? "

its like broken record.. they said its preparing..

god damn it, local gamestop dont have limited edition odin sphere .. why amazon why?

I wouldn't be worried yet. They are still selling it online. Maybe make another order and cancel the one the doesn't ship?

What was that in regards to, P5?

Pre-ordered the P5 CE at BB as soon as I heard about it. I would have liked the full series OSTs like they got in Japan, but at least we get P5's and I was expecting it to be $100+, so I'm not complaining.

I got charged for shipping when I placed it, but I tried changing it earlier for this free shipping I should have gotten (which I couldn't do yesterday) and was able to change my shipping and it's now free, so if you haven't yet, give it a go.

Got my Odin Sphere collectors in the mail yesterday and it's larger than I thought. Ordered it from BB and it was boxed with some bubble packing, so it arrived in excellent condition.

Still haven't gotten my One Piece Burning Blood pre-order DLC yet :/

Did you pre-order it recently, or has it been in the hopper for a while?

My copy arrived yesterday, in fine condition. The box is gorgeous, as is pretty much everything in it. The whole package is plastered in Vanillaware's signature vibrant art. I even went to the trouble of taking the game out, installing it, and seeing how it looked in action. It looks REALLY good. This is the best kind of port. All of the art in glorious 1080p, running at uninterrupted 60 fps. Just a beautiful, beautiful game. The controls are also quite tight. But after getting the platinum trophy on Muramasa, I'm knocking down constant S-ranks on the normal difficulty.

Yeah, but not having Japanese audio still sucks. But can't really not buy P5 because of it like I do with some other games.

What do the the non-Japan Asian regions get, the English dubs too?

Yeah, it is P5 after all. I wouldn't have expected it to come with dual audio, though maybe we'll get it as DLC or something, just not counting on it.

its been over month,

they still have it in stock, so I made 2nd purchase..

I contacted amazon, but they dont know where my shipment is,

from warehouse to shipping center package got missing.. and they can't find it.

also refuse to get a new copy and send it to me..

they reimbursed me good amount,

but still .. waiting..
