A question popped in my mind and was just curious.. Hypothetically if Obama/Mccain were up for re-election for the Senate while running for president, they couldn't run for both offices, correct?
 
im pretty sure you can... liberman did it as vp in 2000 and biden is doing it right now. as long as the gov of your state is of the same party, it works out for the candidate/party, because the gov gets to appoint a replacement if they won the big office.
