Zavvi and thehut both have Kingdoms of Amalur for £14.95 ($23 USD). PS3 games are region-free, and according to a GameFAQs post and Play-Asia, so is the UK version of this game for Xbox 360.

Shipping is .99p (or free if it didn't end yesterday). If you order it from Zavvi, you can use coupon code "zjuly" for 10% off your order. If you order it from thehut, it is part of their 2 for £25 promotion. (Zavvi has one too but does not include this game.)

Something to keep in mind is that Gamestop, Best Buy, and Amazon probably do not accept other terrirtories' games for trade in.

According to GameFAQs, the DLC is also region-free.

I'm the same way. It depends on the game though. I know I bought the Deus Ex DLC for $10, and the Festival of Blood DLC ($4.89) for inFamous 2 since I got the game for free.

i finished dues ex recently and loved it even though when i got it at launch i hated the boss fights aspect so much i sold it right away. how is the DLC?
