Looking to get a 360

I've pretty much been a Sony gamer most my life, but with a new job under my belt I have the sudden desire to get a 360 even tho at this point in time it might be a waste of money. I don't really care for FPSers but could see myself playing the Halo series (not multiplayer tho) and the Gears of War games look pretty ing sweet. Splinter Cell: Conviction and Alan Wake look nice too. Amazon has the holiday bundle (250gb Slim, Fable III, Halo: Reach, 3 (really 4) month live gold) for $290. Would that be my best bet or am I better off waiting till this Holiday season?

In no way is it a bad deal to jump into the 360 with, I'd say go for it. The holiday bundles are usually pretty good for new console owners.

Sounds like an awesome bundle. Check out XBLA games like Shadow Complex, Minecraft, Trials Evolution, Fez, 'Splosion Man etc etc. So many, no, TOO many good games.
