done some more research on my break seems like the pata drive could only be used as a external drive on a ps3. anyone else with insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

This is correct. It'll work in older laptops too (~2006 and older, generally).

I thought it was SATA and PATA, not just PATA only. That's what I get for searching google and finding newer models with both and not simply asking. Thank you for outbidding me on that, since I wouldn't have been able to use it. =\

not 100% sure but can do my best to work a good fair deal....have to find a box to package these biger items in. when ever i sold items like this on ebay i just use shipping paper and wrap then up if that not a problem i am sure it will be much cheaper
 
would there be any objection to anyone already in the low ball if extended the end time to sunday at midnight i have been real busy with work kind put it up in a rush.
