Mafia II (PC) and Brink (PC) are both $10 with free shipping on newegg and they both have a $10 mail in rebate making them free after the mail in rebate. Both should activate on steam.

Thanks to Motoki for posting the direct links to the rebates in the steam thread. Also both are confirmed to activate on steam
Also, since the rebates are not linked from the item pages that I could see, here are the direct links to the rebate PDFs.

Got Mafia II - thanks for the heads up!

A small note: you don't actually get a $10 rebate check, you get a $10 Newegg Prepaid Visa Card (which is fine with me).
is the visa card good anywhere or just on newegg?
I would like to know this too. I already own both games, so I wont be buying. But I'm sure this wont be the last time they offer a Newegg Prepaid Visa Card for a rebate.

It's good anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted.

Got both of them. I've been trying to get all the games from the Bethesda bundle and Brink for free (well cost of a stamp) is pretty damn nice. Also, plus that I can essentially convert my Newegg GC's to Visa cards.

How much can I trust the whole rebate thing? I'm guessing it's probably going to be a huge hassle that has a 50/50 chance of me ending up with the $10 back in my pocket.

I already have Mafia II on Steam, but I might do this just because I want to start collecting game boxes again. And Brink... well... why not if it's free lol.

In for Mafia II.

One of the better GTA styled games I've played. Free? No questions asked.

Rebates at Newegg have always gone through just fine for me. They do however take a while to show up.

If i hadn't had so many issues with newegg i would consider it. I want to see more thoughts and opinions on these newegg visa cards.

is it only good for newegg? or anywhere?

Glad that I could help everyone get an awesome deal for once :) after all the awesome deals that everyone has helped me get in the past I finally feel like I have contributed something to CAG. Also I updated the OP to add direct links to the rebates thanks to Motoki and confirmed steam activation.

I did the same thing :). It just so happened that I had exactly a $20 newegg gift card to use and it was perfect timing cause the gift card I had was about to expire next month. I am glad to convert mine to a prepaid visa :).

It comes in the form of a prepaid visa and I have never had a problem with newegg and rebates if that helps anyone make a purchasing decision.

I hate to share this advice, mostly as I depend on people not heeding it, but if you follow directions and keep records, a rebate is damn near close to automatic. Really.

the thing stopping me is that there's no way to get the digital extras seoarately, so might as well wait for the deluxe edition to go on sale, right?

Exactly, the only time a rebate is not honored is when the person submitting the form didnt follow directions properly. As long as you provide everything requested, you will get the rebate. I've done dozens of mail in rebates and have never had an issue.

Now some of those directions are rather unintuitive and quite specific, and are likely that way in order to deny many rebates. That said, read and follow them and there's nothing to worry about.

Good deal. In for a couple of Brink. I may as well get Mafia II now. May be the complete Mafia II will have a good deal like this someday.
