man i hate rfd

rkraupa

CAGiversary!
seems like so many horders there, i went to pizza pizza today for the two nba raptor ticket combo posted on rfd, i guess someone was there 30 minutes before and bought 30 combos and all the tickets... (deal was $9.99 for xl pizza and 2 raptor tickets)

anyways sorry for the rant

btw does anyone know if i can change my login/display name ?

you might be able to if you PM CheapyD himself, that's a big if.

That's pretty shitty though that someone would do that. Sounds like RFD though.

Yeah, we have them out west too. Guys who hit RV for all the 2/40 games with decent trade in values. Sad.

I got two Halo 3 and two Madden 08 games once and I felt bad.

It seems the RFD hoarders in my city only hit the locations I don't regularly visit anyway.

Though I do hate some of the traders there. I've ranted about that already though. Internet anonymity + not getting their way = good excuse to act like a jerk.

Does the Canadian socialist system make everyone this wussy? Grow some balls and don't act like you are owed anything.

What is the difference if one person buys 30 pizzas or if 30 people buy 1 pizza each? Either way, you lose out on the deal.

If the deal was "buy a $10 pizza and get a $20 bill free", tell me honestly that you would only buy one pizza and leave.

I thought so.

There's a difference to me. If 30 people buy 1 pizza each, 30 people win. If one person buys 30 pizzas, that one person profits at the expense of others. I'd rather see 30 people benefitting than 1, even if it's not myself.

Yes, I guess that is the socialist system at work. However, that decency is what makes Canada different from the United States. Or so I thought before I started going to RFD anyway.

That's not even the same thing. One guy could use all those $20 bills. What the hell is he going to do with 60 Raptors tickets? If he legitimately has 60 friends who want to go to the game, fine. But chances are he is going to scalp them. Whereas if 30 people had each bought 1 pizza, they'd very likely all be using the tickets themselves.

It's the same as the hoarders buying all the good games in the 2/30 sales just to resell them or trade them in, instead of leaving them for people who want to buy two good games just to play them. It's about being a selfish twat, not about anyone being owed anything.

What's the difference?
The fact that those 30 people each wanted to see the game verses the one guy who wants to resell the tickets.

No I wouldn't buy 1 pizza and leave I'd buy all the pizzas until they ran out of twenties but I also wouldn't then go and try and sell the twenties for fifty bucks either.

Obviously it makes no difference to the retailer: hey they got some free publicity and sold a bunch of pizzas. If they put limits then they might not sell as much. It's unfortunate and personally I hate it, but what can you do? It's first-come-first-serve, dog-eat-dog. Sad that common sense and morality seem to have fallen by the wayside in the pursuit of self-indulgement.

this is exactly why I prefer CAG over RFD, less hoarders, friendly atmosphere (besides the occasional sarcastic jab ;)) and exclusive deals :applause:

In addition, when 30 people buy 1 pizza, odds are that the window of opportunity for customers to benefit from the deal is larger than when 1 person buys 30 pizzas.

I'd like to think that here in Canada we care about the common good for all instead of that near sociopathic I've-got-mine-fuck-the-rest-of-you/every-one-for-themself/might-makes-right mentality that too many Americans champion, but, alas, things are more complex than that.

Thats what im thinking, i honestly couldnt believe it sold out the deal started yesterday (when i went to pizza pizza) and anyways i just really think retailers should be putting limits on there sales to individual customers. Rogers is pretty good for this, my friend works there and he put a wii aside for me for xmas for my little sister. They got 4 wii's and i was called immeditally to pick it up, a guy came right after me demanding to buy them all. Which we all know they were going to ebay. But rogers was like im sorry 1 per customer, and hes like when can i come back to buy another... this was so funny... rogers guy said a week and he was like flipping out because they wouldnt sell him to him. Anyways i just wish everyone was firm on that stuff , on boxing week at future shop someone bought all the copies of graw 2 for $15 each ($20 bb, $50 fs) price match or something, i was like wow... Anyways im off to work, everyone have a good day

i remember one time i was going to BB to pick up a router that was marked down from $100 to $20 and this was about 1 day after the sale started, i walk into BB and ask for the router, employee goes looking and comes back to tell me they're out of stock, turns out some guy came in and bought ALL 65 of them in one shot, the employee even helped him carry them out, of course i was ticked off since i still needed a router but the employee offered me a raincheck, so everything turned out fine in the end, though i wish places would have a limit against people like this, but in the end its all about making sales
Razorfen Down?
So sad that I know that. Oh well, at least im not playing it anymore.

I'm curious, what is it? I Googled and got WoW references.

I don't mind hoarders all that much. If a store decides to have a promotion like this, it's up to them to set limits on how many someone can buy. It's not about sales as much as it is about getting (new) customers in the store and happy. If I were following this Pizza Pizza promo, and I heard this story, I wouldn't pay any attention to PP promos in the future. Now, if they gave out 30 tickets to 30 different customers, there would be 29 more happy customers than there are now.

Moral of the story? Pizza Pizza tastes like shit.
I'm curious, what is it? I Googled and got WoW references.
my understanding is that it is a World of Warcraft realm (server)
I'm curious, what is it? I Googled and got WoW references.
It's both a server name and a mid-level instance (dungeon) in WoW. It's sad that I know this

Excuse me for being dumb, but what's the connection between Razorfen Downs and hoarding? Is it the quest you have to do outside the instance when you have to kill the quillboars?

When stores don't set limits on door crashers, they are idiots. You either have have a door crasher to move some dead stock, or to get people int he door, to expose them to your other (new) products, familiarize them with your store, and hope they buy enough other shit to recoup your loss on the door-crasher product. By selling all of their door-crasher to one person, they forfiet all of these benefits. Isn't it great how a free market (ideally) corrects itself? This is why there are usually limits on door-crasher. Pizza Pizza must not have figured it out, so don't worry, evolution will take care of them with time.

Canadian deal forum. Don't want to generalize, but a lot of people in that community are hoarders, scalpers, or just aren't socially-responsible.
What the hell is RFD? Maybe I'm just having a brain-fart, but I have no idea. Fail for me.
think slickdeals or fatwallet, only in Canada

Oh I get it now. The OP said "i hate rfd" so someone thought he meant RazorFen Downs (rfd) rather than Red Flag Deals (rfd). :D

Haha! OK, that makes sense. RFD wasn't particularly bad for mob-hoearding, so I didn't bother looking at the obvious.
