Mark V Flaming Avatar Helmet for Xbox 360 (Downloadable Content)$ .99

I ordered two today (in different orders) and haven't received either of them via email. The page said it typically takes 15 minutes... riiiight..

Paid with PayPal, and the orders on BestBuy.com just say "In Process."
 
yea I paid with paypal too, I'm wondering if that has something to do with it.. if you contact them about it, they end up cancelling/refunding the orders, I placed one again, got a code right away, then placed another order and had the same issue. contacted them, order was refunded, etc. idk whats wrong with it

Interesting. Did you have to call? The "email us" thing isn't working for me. I fill out the form and hit submit, then it just goes to a blank screen. Really, Best Buy, really?! XD

EDIT: On the phone right now. They are saying that the status of these items are something they've never seen before, and the item has been back ordered (though she's not sure how that works for digital items). On hold while she calls their digital team. No resolution, really, they said that there is delay in sending out the codes, and to wait 48 hours before cancelling them.

Hmm, it's been over 7 hours, and still no e-mail with the Mark V Flaming Avatar Helmet code! I should of used my CC instead of PayPal...:cry:

Seems so! And from being on the phone w/ BB customer service for an hour or so, it seems like it is difficult to cancel an order that is still trying to process itself (or at least that's what the lady said). Though another poster said he had his orders cancelled no problem. I'll call back later today.
 
Bough one on June 12th with a CC and got the code in about an hour. I received 2 or 3 emails from BB PRIOR to receiving the email with the code. The emails were to tell me basically that the code was on its way. Seems kinda dumb to send me like 4 emails for 1 avatar hat...but who am I to question the all-mighty BB...? :p

For kicks I bought another one for my buddy on the 14th, I believe, (with my CC) and got that one in a few hours (took longer, but still got it well within the same day).

Sucks people are having issues... Hopefully you will get your spiffy avatar hat. :whistle2:/

Ordered one on the 15th, but it's still "In Process." When I called CS they said to try placing another order so they could see what was happening. Now I have two orders that are in limbo. XD

Want to be a kind sir and try buying another and if it goes through, sell it to me via PayPal? I thought that it was PayPal causing the problem, but Haggar proved that theory wrong. Hmm.. (as a side note, I find this pretty annoying that they're promoting this new DLC shop kinda thing, but have no idea how to fix the problem, let alone how the process works).
 
^wow, I guess I can stop checking my e-mail every 5 minutes if you guys have been waiting for days. I just bought this along with Fat Princess (PS3) about 3 hours ago. It took less than 5 mins for FP to show up but nothing on the helmet yet.
 
I repurchased my two orders that got "refunded" for some reason, and it's been over 24 hours of those pending now... guessing those might get canceled too... BLAH
 
I just called and spoke to a friendly Best Buy rep who said I should have gotten my code within 15 minutes (I ordered 3 days ago) so he "reset" my order after confirming my name, address, credit card and 3 digit security number.

We'll see if it goes through now. . .
 
Boo. I bought two at 2 and seven hours later, still nothing. Just a thank you for purchasing this item from Best Buy .com and my e-mail from my credit card company telling me a purchase has been made for $1.08 two times. Whoop-dee-doo. Guess we should all stick together in this. =/
 
i'm italian person and than i can't buy it by bestbuy! If anyone can buy one for me and then after I pay with paypal I'd be very happy! :) PM me
 
I havent got the email for mine either. Its been 5 hours.

Maybe they've over sold their stock of them..maybe we'll get a nice gift card for our trouble lol.
 
I got a reply to the email I sent telling me they're sorry for the inconvenience and that I should call to clear things up... what exactly needs to be cleared up about a $1 item? just send me the friggin code.
 
I would strongly advise against anyone attempting to order any dlc from Best Buy.
it's just not worth it.

I've now made 2 emails & 3 phone calls over $1.00 purchase. The latest is I was transferred to the Geek Squad and after being scolded for calling the wrong department (I was transferred from a previous BB rep) I am now told that Best Buy does not sell game codes.
 
Its been 4 days since I ordered this still nothing from best buy I guess I will be calling them later. How hard is it to send a freaking code via email. I purchased a DLC online through gamestop got the code immediately.
 
They can't send the code and they can't cancel the order because it's stuck in "Processing".

All this over a fucking dollar.


They opened up a case and sent it to the "online support department" and they should have a status update on my $1.06 refund within "5 to 7 business days".
 
I wonder if it will just be stuck in limbo forever? Always "Processing" but no code, but can't cancel it because it's technically "Processing".
 
What a terrible start for their DLC store. Still waiting on my codes. -_-

I'm going to find the info for their CEO and contact him. This is fucking ridiculous that the employees have no idea what to do (no idea they even sell codes, no way to cancel an order, etc). What garbage!

The were only selling for about $5 when I sold mine. Which was shortly after it was given out.
 
I agree. This is horrible. Someone must have bought a thousand codes the first week it came out or something, but this is ridiculous. Since Haggar got so much flack, I'll just wait and see what happens, since it is just a dollar item. Hopefully we get some codes by the end of the month. o_o

I'm not even gonna bother calling them up for another couple days, over $2, if no code shows up in a few days I'll give them a call. sounds like calling won't actually solve much anyways.
 
Well, I checked my order status online, today, and it's still in process of being fulfilled! Anyway, I did notice the Mark V Flaming Avatar Helmet is now sold out online. So, there will be no more victims...:applause:

Yay. At least others won't have to go through what we did to get it up as OUT OF STOCK. Wonder how many they had to begin with. Well, if we are all still in processing, they (BestBuy) are going to have to do something, right? Whether it means them cancelling it or us getting a refund, right?
 
Yeah, I brought it to the attention of some of the upper management at Best Buy:

"I realize that the code is only $1, but I have read that this is a widespread issue, and nobody has found a reasonable explanation or solution. If the codes are back-ordered or out of stock, the site needs to reflect this."

There are two individuals (CR Admin Team/Admin Assistant and Senior Executive Resolution Specialist) working with me through e-mail. Will post here if anything comes of our conversations. The one guy had this to say:

"Once again I apologize, and I can feel your frustration with this issue. I am a gamer myself, and I can understand how annoying it can be for something so simple to become so complicated."

So, apparently Microsoft was responsible for providing the codes and they have failed to keep up their end of the deal (according to Best Buy, anyways). "I regret to have to say that this offer was not supposed to happen through Best Buy, which partially explains the confusion. Microsoft was supposed to be the ones offering it. Right now we are talking to Microsoft to see if we can get codes in, but it might not happen and we will refund you and the other customers that have bought this. For your trouble and frustration with the issue, I would like to offer a $25 best buy gift card if you would accept it." :D

So lucky. Sorta off topic, but I e-mailed Best Buy about my order of Ivy the Kiwi for the DS from a previous midnight sale from nearly three weeks ago. The in-store pickup claimed it'd be available in 7-10 days. So I complained. All I got back was an e-mail saying that the game is now backordered... Some customer service. I think I might go bitch at them again.

That sucks. Want the email that I used? The guy I talked to was very helpful after realizing my displeasure with Best Buy. I just had to message him my order numbers and he took care of it... can send you my email too if you want to use it as a template, haha. Basically, just say you went the Customer Service route and they weren't helpful at all in getting your game in the supposed time frame. I said the same for the codes, since they were typically supposed to be sent within 15 minutes.

Sorry about the delay in response - yeah, I paid with a pre-paid (gift) CC that actually only had $2.57 left on it, using Google Chrome, and it went through fine.
Sorry to hear people are having problems.

Thanks. I might give it a shot after I make another attempt through the normal channels. I did get rid of a bad manager that way once. I hear writing letters by hand work better though. My friend's mom also scored a gift card after writing to one of the VP's about how crappy service was at a Best Buy she went. They actually outright told her they fired the manager. When I e-mailed them about the manager I got fired, they gave me the typical, "we can't tell you what happened, but the situation will be handled internally" reply.
 
Hmm, Best Buy also issued me a refund, today. I really wanted the code!!! Anyway, I would love a $25 Gift Card! I need to complain to someone, right away...;)
 
I sent that guy an email, I was very nice. All he said was sorry you'll be getting a refund (basically)..no gift card. Bastards. I just wanted a $5-$10 one lol.
