Tai (太) was born October 20th, 2007 at 11:56am Tokyo time, weighing in at 6lbs 14oz. I wish my name had a cool Kanji like his.
Mom and baby boy are doing fine. Thankfully, we got lucky and had a very short labor.
I hope to get some better pictures tomorrow.

Trust me...I was lucky too. It's the husband's (impossible) job to make the wife comfortable during labor. That means a lot of massages and postive feedback.
You should have seen (rather, heard) what was going on with our neighbors. I think they were at it for over 24 hours. We were done in around 2.

Cute kid man! Congrats, there's nothing as great as your child's healthy birth. I still remember my baby's birth 8 months ago so clearly.

Here are some items that have been tremendously helpful to my wife and me:

Diaper Genie: http://www.amazon.com/Playtex-Diaper-Genie-Twist-Away-System/dp/B0001NE8OA/ref=pd_bbs_sr_6/103-8689574-2784667?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1192886283&sr=8-6

Bottle Drying Rack: http://www.amazon.com/Prince-Lionheart-Complete-Drying-Station/dp/B00018XCJC/ref=sr_1_6/103-8689574-2784667?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1192886320&sr=1-6

Jeep Baby Carrier: http://www.amazon.com/Jeep-2-in-1-Baby-Carrier/dp/B000VETPCO/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3/103-8689574-2784667?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1192886364&sr=1-3

Evenflo Exersaucer: http://www.amazon.com/Evenflo-6231711-ExerSaucer-3-in-1-Pond/dp/B000KZE3CG/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3/103-8689574-2784667?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1192886467&sr=1-3

Baby Jumper: http://www.amazon.com/Evenflo-Classic-Johnny-Doorway-Jumper/dp/B000CDPHIK/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-8689574-2784667?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1192886517&sr=1-1

I also highly recommend, if you buy toys, getting the Baby Einstein products. But honestly, you'll find that babies get a lot more enjoyment out of random everyday house items, like belts, lids, cups, etc. Try to limit buying craploads of toys, as they will get overlooked.

Also, as cute as it all is, buying tons of baby clothes is a total waste. You'll find yourself sticking with old faithfuls like onesies and t-shirts/shorts. All the expensive baby clothing will fit for a month or two at most, and you'll rarely use it because most people don't take their babies out very much at that young age.

Finally, get some bibs! Cheap ones work as well as expensive ones, and once the baby starts drooling, he won't stop for months.

Two more things: when you are changing diapers, keep the dirty one under him for a few seconds, as that cold air hitting the weiner will make him spontaneously whiz! And if you know he's pooped, change it immediately. Leaving poop on their little skin for very long will almost always result in a rash, and those ARE NOT FUN.

Again, congrats brother!

Congrats!!!! Your neighbors probably hate you, lol. "ok, honey, well that labor took 2 hours, a little longer than we planned. Where do you want to go to dinner tonight?"

Congratulations Cheapy. Having a kid is great .. now you can play with toys again and not be called a weirdo for it. And remember to teach Tai one very importante lesson .. never pay full retail for video games.

congrats Cheapy D ..and welcome to the world Cheapy D Jr.
