Hey all, I've been getting more into the metal scene as of late. Nile, Deicide, Dimmu Borgir, Vital Remains, even some heavy grind shit like The Berzerker.

My two favorite bands have become Ensiferum and Nile, and I think this is because they have more melodic influences, and have songs which are not always just guitar riffs and twaddling the strings with their dicks like Dragonforce does. Sss Haa Set Yoth is my favorite by Nile, since it has that awesome Egyptian-sounding (don't know any other way to describe it) intro with string instruments, leading into the heavy guitars, and then some more of that influence later in the song. Ensiferum is just riddled with folk influences and non-electric instruments.

Are there any other folk-metal bands which are more metal than folk (i.e.Nile)?

If not, what are some great black metal/doom metal/shit to headbang to bands?

Folk metal is damn awesome. Give Korpiklaani, Equilibrium, Asmegin, Lumsk, Einherjer, Thyrfing, Wintersun and Wintersun a listen. All great bands.
