Here is a thread just for us Michiganders to talk about the stores in our area that have good deals. Post any Mom & Pop Stores too so we can find the best deals. I need help gathering a list so I will update the OP from time to time. I will try to list all of the stores in Alphabetical order by City.

Doug's Dugout closed because of tax problems in 2000. His father Bob( the old guy with the pipe who did the sports cards) died last April of cancer. He and I want to start up a new store in Ypsilanti sometime in the future.

REALLY!?! Wow... I hope you guys do start up a new store (I'd certainly go to it). Doug's Dugout was my favoriate place for anime and hockey cards.. I have some damn good memories and manga from there. I really miss game spot too.

Thank you, Doug is selling some anime cels on ebay right now. bossy22islanders is the name.

We hope to get some new stock when I spend a semester in Japan, for my Japanese B.A.
My fiancee's brother used to work there. If you listened to the CAG cast a few weeks ago where there was the discussion about video game retailers you'll know why he closed shop. Min the owner moved down to Atlanta to open a gaming cafe.

As for Doug, he was an asshole who blatenly sold fan subs on VHS tapes we made himself. He and Min had a feud going on.
So, Doug was an asshole, eh? Well, this is Doug and I don't think you know jack!
I never sold fansub video's! Min sold fansub videos! I had threatened him with calling the FBI, if he continuned to do so. He told me not to, that he would stop. That he never did! I only sold actual items from Japan. If I ever ordered an item, and it ended up being a bootleg, I returned it. If I could not return it, I destroyed it, at my cost. I was/am an advocate of turning in all bootleggers. Min was one of them. If you doubt that fact, just look at any of the video tapes he sold. Those xerox copy clamshell covers are a dead giveaway. In all likelyhood, Min moved to avoid prosecution. Why else would he move so far away?

You, sir, should never talk with your mouth full of......well, I will leave it up to all to figure that one out.

I Am Legend Blu-Ray for $ 22.95 @ Meijer YMMV .

It looks like they come prestickered with the wrong price on them .

I had to get the price overridden , but I got it at that price .

South Canton Target has over 14 copies of folklore for 14.98, prolly wont be there forever but they are behind the glass...just wanted to let all yall michiganders know.

I just picked up "The Orange Box" for PS3 @ Target in Taylor for $29.99. My jaw dropped when I saw that it was on clearance. For an extra CAG bonus, I used a $10 gift card that I got when I bought RSV2, so I really got it for $20!

Oops! This deal is hidden in the Target clearance thread. Please sticky that thread, it's full of gems!

Anyone go to Butterflies at 14& Van Dyke? Huge arcade with Indoor driving range, bar and all that good stuff.. The place has kinda went to shit the last 5 or so years but I think it would be a pretty good spot for a Metro Detroit CAG meet-up..Any thoughts? Experiences? Place gets a little crazy at night

A coworker told me about that place, I wouldn't mind heading out there sometime lol.

Right on dude. Its not that bad, as long as u dont mind dark smoky places. Anyways me and my friends are usually in the back on some touchscreen games..Holla at a CAG!

I went to Meijer today and I noticed two games on sale. First was Bully for the Wii was $39.99 and I noticed in the clearance bin that Turning Point for the 360 was $20. Thought maybe some people maybe interested.

PS3 $30 , 360 $28 .

I'm new on here and didn't feel like reading through or searching to see if this had been posted...but Family Video rental chains are all over the metro detroit area. Last time I was in there, they had a mix of stuff on sale.

All of these are for the 360:

Turok - $30
Assassin's Creed - $30
Bioshock - $30
Dark Sector - $30
Stuntman: Ignition - $20
Frontlines: Fuel of War - $30
Halo 3 - $30

They also have a slew of whatever the previous summer's movie-game tie-ins for $10-30 (but those are usually on sale everywhere a year later).

Granted, Stuntman, Bioshock, and Assassin's Creed can be had for the same or less at most used places (GameFly is selling Assassin's Creed for like 19 bucks). However, I haven't seen better prices on Turok, Dark Sector, or Frontlines.

Also, as everyone probably knows, Target is notorious for hit-or-miss clearance games...I picked up Motorstorm and Lair on PS3 for $14.98 each at the sterling heights store (16 and Dequindre).

Also, I didn't see this posted anywhere else yet, though it probably is on here somewhere:

GAMEQUEST Inc.
47091 Gratiot Avenue
Chesterfield, MI 48051
Phone : (586) 598-0855

This guy has a pretty decent selection of everything, especially for an independent shop. He has loads of NES cartridges and last time I visited, it was buy 2, get 3 free...and they aren't all sports, either. He has SNES (I replaced my copy of Super Mario World and picked up Castlevania IV there for 10 and 20 bucks, respectivley), genesis, Saturn, all forms of gameboy/DS...pretty much every mainstream system since NES all the way up to PS3/Wii. His used prices seem to follow Gamestops closely, but sometimes he'll have something as much as ten bucks cheaper and sometimes a lot sooner than the chains. Plenty of DVDs, and arcade cabinets to play on as well.

Nice dude..I live right near the other S.H. target at 15 & Van Dyke. So the place is a lil bit of a hike for me but I will definetely check it out sometime. When you say "arcade cabinets" do you mean a few games or a full blown arcade?

I went to Walmart today in Bay City and they had about 9 Wii's in stock in case anybody is around the area or interested.

Ive got a brand new Wii I would like to sell to a Cagger in the michigan area at cost if anyone needs one. The price after tax was $265 and I live in Canton. I would like to help a cag out that is looking for one.

visited him today, awesome shop! I picked up a SNES for 37 bucks (final price!) that's better then ebay! He didn't have a NES but said he should have one by the weekend. Awesome guy, super nice, great prices and your supporting a local buisness. He has everything from a 2600-current gen stuff.

Didnt see these on here. They are in Battle Creek :)

GameStop #143
Lakeview Square Mall
5775 Beckley Road
Battle Creek MI, 49015 US

Titan Games
637 Capital Ave SW
Battle Creek, MI 49015

Titan used to have a website...sold it to someone though (Owner Marcus, I dont like him...but it's an all around hobby shop; DnD, movies, music, Console and PC games)

If anyone wants the Godfather blu-ray early, the Meijer on Mound between 12 and 13 Mile has them out early. It's 80 dollars, though.

The Best Buy in Waterford has had a stack of Wiis in the gaming section the last 2 days I was in there. The economy must be getting bad around here to have Wiis not selling!

Holy Obama 2 months with no posts in here? This thread needs to be brought back from the dead.

There is one copy of BWii at FYE in Briarwood mall for 9.99, I snagged the other one today.

I try to put the Meijer stuff in here if this thread shows up in my 1st page of Subscribed Threads .

They put a new game store in Saginaw. Independently owned and he gives 40% of selling price cash back for trade ins, or 60% trade credit. Plus the dude is young and took a risk opening the shop in a declining economic climate.

Play on
.... Bay Rd
Saginaw, MI 48603

Ill update with more info later

And yes, this thread is always dead.

Thanks smiggity, not to far of a drive from school... Also has anyone in the MBS area ever traded in at the shop that is in the Bay City Mall? I was just wondering how good he is with TIVs.
if your looking for a good deal on older stuff, i found this store in Clawson called flipside records. i picked up a controler for my NES for 2 bucks. and they had a bunch of games for NES and SNES and other game systems from around that time.

http://www.yelp.com/biz/flipside-music-clawson
I traded my entire NES collection -Ninja Gaiden 2 there back in the day .
That was when I moved up to the Genesis .

I'm going to go check out the Best Buy in Taylor or Dearborn (Fairlane Green) tomorrow and find out if they take the 2K $10 off website coupon for "Bioshock" for the PS3. If anyone had success at these two stores, please reply. I'll post my results.

Good thing you bumped this. Here is the official information on that Gamestore I previously mentioned:

GAME ON
Video Games & DVDs
5691 Bay Rd (Next to Jets Pizza)
Saginaw, MI 48603
(989) 790-9278
www.2gameon.com
Sun-Thurs 11am-8pm Fri & Sat 11am-9pm

Dude is cool and trying to do a good thing by putting a store right near a couple of Gamestops. You guys should check it out. Also he said a "Gaming Lounge" was coming soon and I saw he had some big tv boxes so I believe he is looking to host some tourneys there in the future.

60% In Store Credit
40% Cash Back
Both apply to what he would sell the game for.

Sounds good. I hate the Bay City Gamestop so I usually go to the Saginaw ones but it looks like I'll have to try this place out. If any more information comes up about tournaments, let us CAG's know.

Will do. On the flyer it mentions Halo, Gears2, and Guitar Hero. May just be generic placeholder names though.
The Gamestop near Target and now liquidating Circuit City has employees that hoard the pre-order goodies. The one in the mall will give them out for free though sometimes....
