Militants hang 8-year-old boy in southern Afghanistan

Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) -- An 8 year-old boy was hanged by militants in Afghanistan's Helmand province after the boy's father -- a police officer in the southern city of Gereshk -- refused to comply with militants' demands to provide them with a police vehicle, officials said.

You don't hear much about the child rape since its an accepted part of Pashtun society. The Taliban actually put a stop to it for a while, but I guess they have no reservations about simply killing them.

The father was a fool to hold back from guys like that, but its clear that things are seriously bad over there. Like you said, the things that aren't reported are probably 100x worse in many different ways.
