This is the big screen I got cheapass off Ebay. $305 plus a 2 hour drive. Auctioned as a 51" big screen, got it and it is a 56" with picture in picture.

This is my collection, I like to do my own costom dvd covers. Xbox games, then serieses, then movies, and finally ps2 games.

Top level is my Koss 600watt 6.1 surround sound system.
Second from top is my system selector and hub.
Third from the top is my ps2, xbox, and gamecube with brand new 4 wavebirds from the 15/16/15/10 sale.
Forth from the top is my dreamcast and ps1.
The bottom is my tivo wannabe setup pc.

And my puppy named Sadie Autumn as she was born on the first day of autumn of last year.

AS FOR WHERE I SIT

This is my sofa and loveseat(green mircofiber suade) both for only $500 brand new(total cheapass in all respects)

Wowza, that is one hell of a nice price for that TV. Nice collection man. In the top right corner of the game wall screeny, what game is that promo box for? (Sorry, caught it in the corner of my eye and now my curiosity is running wild.) I thought it was either Killer 7 or XIII, but I thought it'd be better to just ask...

Pics no worky for me either... looks like you exceeded your bandwidth. Try uploading the pics at Imageshack or Photobucket.

But it sounds like you got a nice system. I should post mine.;-)

I have to say, pictures of everyone's setups makes me pretty embarassed about mine, which is decidedly unimpressive. I have a ridiculous televsion, but not nearly as many titles as everyone else seems to have.

Hey, it's all cost and benefits... some people just don't want big TVs and others pay a hell of a lot only to be sorry about it.

Our family is one of the later, we should've waited. For the amount we paid on our TV 4 years ago, we could've bought a HD projector today!

That's how the electronics industry works, sadly. If you had bought the HD projector today, then 4 years from now you would have been able to buy something even better with the money. You get a brief moment in the sun before the technology is outdated.

As for the boxes, the top left are the 3 mkd controllers they were $10 so I thought why not. Also top left is Pariah up for sale if you want. Top right is Donkey Konga 2, and Rainbow Six Lockdown, Lockdown is for sale if you want)

That's why I always buy outdated stuff as in that tv is not hd nor widescreen but no way i'm paying $1500 for hd or $300 for a 27inch hd
its ok to show ur porn
haha it's actually pictures not porn... on another note I got a 6600GT on my custom built PC and I use this TV now as a computer monitor as well at 1776x1000. The porn looks great on it.

So your printed custom box art for the Simpson box sets? (I think the 2nd row on the right case holds a bunch of Simpsons DVDs) Interesting idea, although for me it'd just take up more space on the shelf, plus I'd still have to keep the empty official box somewhere safe. You don't chuck the real cases do you? This is all assuming I'm seeing stuff right (the individual DVDs are obviously very small in the pic)

I'd hang that picture over the couch a little higher. (Or maybe it is just resting on the back of the couch?)

You must not play much gamecube stuff as it looks like you'd have to move or hold up the PS2 to change out a disc, right? :)

I've been stuck in the house all weekend because I had to get a vasectomy (sorry, I know, too much information), so in between playing games I decided to clean the basement and take pictures of my setup.

When we first moved in the whole basement was unfinished so after a lot of nights and weekends after work trying to get it done I was pretty happy with the way it came out. After that, it took me awhile to figure out a way to display the games (whenever they were boxed up I was always to lazy to pull them out and hook up the systems to play) in a somewhat decent way.

On a side note, I was also pretty stoked with how I came upon the audio racks beside the TV. At first I wanted an Home Entertainment Wall like this one but decided against because it would be a pain to get back there an fix any cords. It would also take forever to save up for it. Well, at FatWallet there was a thread about those shelves being on clearance at Best Buy, from $355 (I wonder who in there right mind would pay that much for them) to $44.99. There were two left at one location and when the manager saw that the boxes were bent up pretty bad, he gave me $20 off of each one assuring me that the contents should still be fine. He gave me the discount having no idea that they were on clearance. Got both for around $53, after taxes. Woo hoo! And there's no way I would have as many games if it weren't for this site. Thanks, CAG!

Yes, I am a big Jayhawk and Chiefs fan. :D

Too Many Games!!!!

 I'm becoming a frugal cheap ass gamer.

You want my KU blanket, don't you? :D

What's worked with me getting so many games is to not trade them in later on. Pretty soon you start to get a pretty decent sized selection. I fell to that temptation once, when I sold my top loader NES and games. But at least it was to my brother. He has some pretty good games in his collection that I'm still trying to get at a cheap price. I made him promise to sell it back to me if he ever wants to get rid of it. As for the DVDs, Columbia House all the way. You end up averaging about $6.50 per DVD, and that's even including some of the box sets.

I picked up the shelves at Office Max. They will frequently have the large ones on sale for around $50. In order to keep the Super Nintendo and Nintendo games from coming out of the back, I just cut up the lids from the boxes that have all copier/printer paper in them. They are about the right height though you have to use two cut up for the proper width.

Nice setup man! I'm getting rid to move into a new room so I'll probably be getting ready to look for a new tv as well as entertainment center. I'll be sure and post pics when everything is setup and done :)

Maybe we should bump that gaming setup thread instead of posting in the OP's thread with the pics to our own gaming setups. :p

My room's a mess right now. There are shipping boxes everywhere and it's cluttering up my room. Once I reformat my comp, put away the shipping boxes and tidy up the whole place I'll take pics.

Hmmm - thanks. I was actually looking for something like the OP's, since I never saw your post. =D But I'll probably head to Staples/Office Max/Unfinished Furniture Store/Ikea tomorrow to try to find something.

Sweet setup... the rest of your pad must be pretty nice as well considering how big your basement is and how much you can fit in there.

You should send your pics to IGN, they've been posting the pimpest home setups for the last several weeks.

This is going to make me sound like a jackass (yet I'm going to say it anyway, go figure), but it seems like most of the people who post pictures of their "setups" don't know what a decent setup looks like. I am by no means ragging on anyone's equipment or living conditions, but if the room you play games in looks like a dorm room after a hurricane, why are you taking pictures?

OP, for example... you have a lot of games and movies, yes, but you've got crap all over the floor and what appears to be a set of surround sound speakers on top of your TV right next to each other. And your sub is encroaching on your TV's personal space. I have no issue with your arrangement inherently, as it is your house and you can do whatever you wish, but I gotta wonder why you're showing it to us. Critiquing your arangement, I've honestly gotta give you a 2 out of 10 for organization.

I really don't understand these posts in general. People have their components double or triple stacked (*cringes*), have nice TV's on 50 year old pieces of furniture, have 50 year old TV's on nice pieces of furniture, etc. If that's what you've got, and you like it, more power to you. But it's really underwhelming.

This guy, however, has the right idea:
basement01.jpg

One component per shelf (or two small ones side by side), clean arrangement, speakers actually spaced properly and at a reasonable height (!), very symmetrical, very coherent. I can see why this guy took a picture. Some of you others... eh... not so much.

Like I said, hate me for pointing all this out. After seeing so many threads like this here and on IGN, I had to get it off my chest. I only ask that if you wish to call me a snooty bastard, do it by PM.

^ I have to agree, that is a setup worthy of a thread... Are there any sites with archives of setups like this? I'd like to see a bunch, just to get some ideas.

You've got a lot of nice stuff but I'm not one to comment I guess because I like everything hidden in drawers/cabinets except the TV. To me having shelves full of games and DVDs looks sloppy no matter how neat you think it is...
