I was going through a bunch of miscellaneous accessory parts I bought and found an adapter cable that seems to allow a PS1 (or PS2) controller to be plugged into a Nintendo 64 console. Its a male N64 plug with about a 2" piece of cable, with a female PS1 connector on the other end. I've tried several PS1 and 2 controllers with it on my N64 and always get a no controller detected message with any game I try. The adapter appears to be quite well made and not something that someone cobbled up from parts. Was there ever a controller produced that could be used on both of those systems? All the internet searches I've done so far have only resulted in sites that sell the combination hubs to allow PS1 or N64 controllers to be plugged into a PC for emulator use, which this is definitely not.
