With the coming release of Mario Kart I needed to get a wireless router so I can play online. I don't know anything about routers so I don't know what brands or types are good or bad. If someone could just help me with a link to one online and I'll do the price searching myself. Any help is appreciated.

You might want to check SAMS, if you have one in your area.... they had a bundle with that router and a wireless card for around $70.... incase you need to hook up a PC or laptop too......

If you already have a wired router, the Belkin wireless access points are great, and can be had ultracheaply. Also great for making the Pelican System Selector Pro wireless as well.
I thought the DS only go as fas as wireless b?
Thats possible (i have no idea), but G is backwards compatible with B.
And why not get the faster connection since you may use it in the future.

You can find the Linksys routers on sale many weeks for around $40 after the mail in rebates. Circuit City has had it the last few weeks but not this week. Avoid Netgear routers at all costs. I got one that was $20 after the rebates that came with a wireless laptop card and have had many issues with the router. The wireless card works fine but the Netgear router is not very good.
You know that Nintendo is releasing a USB wifi card for the DS, right?
yea but they haven't released much info on it yet so I'm weighing my options. I would like to get something cheap, but if not It's not that big of a deal. If Nintendo's USB adapter will work with my DS, Revolution, AND my laptop then I will get that cause it's smaller. If it won't work with laptops then I will go with the wireless router.

Is this one good? It comes out to about $25 after rebate and shipping. I also have a wired router through my Verizon DSL if that matters. I'm not very educated with routers yet. Will I be able to use both my computer and my DS at the same time with a wireless router?

Yes you can use the router for more than one device at at time. It simply splits up your bandwidth up accordingly. You all can go cheap on a router or go with linksys. You get what you pay for and thats all I am going to say. I think the linksys one is on Amazon for $40.

If you already have a wired router you could just buy an access point. Thats what I did. I had a wired router and then later bought a u.s. robotics access point. Newegg has a belkin access point for only $20 with free shipping.

I have a d-link router and its fucked up. But I think its because I might have a messed up one or maybe I didn't set it up correctly. After a certain number of hours it won't connect online anymore and I have to unplug it then plug it back in. It was this one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16833127013

For the wireless router I think I'm going to get the Linksys WRT54G. $42.99 after a $15 MIR and free 3 day shipping sounds good.

I'll try to fix my router in the next couple of days and if I do I might pick up this instead.

Are you sure that its a router and not a modem?
