Need help with making a mask / costume

I'm building/making a Bender costume and was looking for some help.

It's going to be similar to this one: http://kimncris.com/costumes/detailsbender.php but out of cardboard and clay.

So the question is what material can I use for Bender's mouth? I called a local fabric store and they were no help.
