Need some help

I'm trying to start a new Xbox Live account. I have a local account on my xbox and want to use that on Xbox Live for some reason it makes me create a new gamertag. I don't want to replay games just to get saves and achievements on my new account. Is there anyway to transfer saves or take a local account into Xbox Live?

Sounds like your current gamertag is already taken. They just need you to pick a new name that's available.

If your local gamertag is silentevil there's about a 9,000% chance that it's already in use.

yeah, and I'm pretty sure if you have to change your name if it's already taken, your saves will still be associated with that profile

you won't be making a new profile, you'll just be changing your name.
