Neotokyo (Source mod) comes out this Friday (July 3)

Haha CS Japan sounds about right.

Not expecting it to be great, considering the ENTIRE EFFING trailer was in slow motion.

Gameplay looks uninspired. Maybe I'm missing something?

This looked incredibly generic. What exactly is it supposed to bring to the table other than (crappy IMO) models and levels?

I put forth some effort and looked at the site at least. See this to look at some of the games features:
http://neotokyohq.com/neotokyo_noob_hints.html

3 classes to pick from-

Recon:
Fast
Shitty Armor
Camo (looks kinda like when you bump into a spy in TF2)
Unlimited Sprint
Night Vision
Super Jump
Detpack

Assault:
Medium Armor
Camo
Some Sprint
Motion Vision (think IR vision but with motion detection)
Nades

Support:
Slow
Tank Armor
No Sprint
No Camo
Thermal Vision
Smoke Nades

Guns have alt fire modes.
Unlock Weapons via rank.

Only gameplay mode seems to be capture the flag in which holding the flag lets you see the position of all enemies.

Inspired by Ghost in the Shell.
Game might be blah but the OST is GODLIKE
Agreed on the music, excellent stuff.

I don't see people's hate for the gameplay besides the camping nature. I think it's like CS with a bit of variety.

I just played the game for an hour or two. I had a lot of fun with it. Also, I like the Ghost in the Shell influences.

The soundtrack is pretty badass. I don't think the song from the trailer is on it for some reason, the one that starts right as the guy jumps in with the shotgun. The closest I can find is Tin Soldiers.

looks like a good trailer for a boring game

13 songs with the game. 27 on the soundtrack.

I bought the soundtrack and this is what I found in my shipping confirmation e-mail:

Your CD has been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow.
A team of 50 employees inspected your CD and polished it to make sure it was in the best possible condition before mailing.
Our packing specialist from Japan lit a candle and a hush fell over the crowd as he put your CD into the finest gold-lined box that money can buy.
We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of Portland waved "Bon Voyage!" to your package, on its way to you, in our private CD Baby jet on this day, July 15, 2009.
We hope you had a wonderful time shopping at CD Baby. In commemoration, we have placed your picture on our wall as "Customer of the Year." We're all exhausted but can't wait for you to come back to CDBABY.COM!!

I may have to order from this site again.

damn, for a free game people sure do like to bitch.

it's actually really well balanced - the recon and support classes add a lot.
