Netflix Streaming Thread 2.0

Going to bump this thread back up.

I noticed the other day that they added Top Secret, and the Naked Gun series. Also, a new season of Futurama.
Watched Buried. I can't believe they managed to make 1.5 hours of Ryan Reynolds in a box fairly entertaining. And that ending was intense.
Yep I was surprised as hell, it was pretty good.

That movie was big here when it released since it used our town as the place his character was from. The address mentioned is fake but the phone # is real, was really surprised to hear the proper format and not a 555 number.

Watched season 2 of Heroes. It was better than I remembered (could be because it's been years since I watched season 1). Season 3 is a train wreck, though. It's obvious that the writers ran out of good ideas by the end of season 2.

Peter's girlfriend lost in time and never spoken of again immediately springs to mind.

Hold on to your hat, because season 4 gets worse. You have Ray Park (Darth Maul) as a carnie at a carnival that can't be found (you need a compass to get there), but oh wait were did all those customers come from.

I always assumed one of the carnies had the power to attract people, but yeah, season 4 is horrendous, but that's not the reason, it's because of

Heroes was such a disappointment. The show had a lot of potential, but the writer's strike I think doomed it. Had it not premiered until after the strike I think it would have lasted, and might even be on now. There is a show on Syfy called Alphas that I like, it's in a similar vein as Heroes. It's a little different though in that their powers aren't always a positive thing. I won't give too much away for anyone who might decide to watch it, but in one case, one of the character's power nearly gave him fatal heart problems.

What destroyed Heros was the fact everyone got super-powers and basically all lived in a bubble. Then you start time traveling and people change personalities and all this other shit. Add in the fact no one would die even when they died. They also took a bad ass villain and poorly handled it, basically ruined. As far as I'm concerned, watch Season One and treat it like a mini-series and stop there, there's a decent enough ending. After that the show had no actual direction at all. Though I found the entire scene rip-off of The Fly in a later season really hilarious. It was worth the laughs.

And sadly, that show got cancelled, but I'd still say it's worth the watch. It ends on the cliffhanger, but there are some really good episodes in there and they did a much better job building characters than Heroes did, in my opinion.

Yes, and given that Alphas S1 is on Netflix, Season 2 will probably be up once the DVD/Blu-Ray comes out. Really sucks that it canned, but that is Syfy for you. I am intrigued by Defiance, but what is the point in getting attached when it will probably be cancelled?

As for Heroes, you guys made it a lot further than me. I couldn't stomach it during season 1. A little bit too formulaic for my tastes.

Sigh, I thought so. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother watching shows.
Some not so good news for Arrested Development.

That has more to do with the rest of the cast's schedules. They've got other TV shows and movies to make. And let's be real, this was never going to be a full on revival. One more season and hopefully a movie. That should be more than enough.

I don't think that's much different from what they've been saying right along. I thought the goal was that they'd do one season and use it to set up for a movie. It's still more up in the air as to whether or not this will materialize into a movie, but I don't think Netflix was ever involved in that part of it to begin with.

I finished up House of Cards recently. Kevin Spacey is fucking amazing, from the first episode to the last. I never cared for politically-driven TV shows, but I found myself really attached the characters.

Cartoon Network and Adult Swim shows are now up.

I found:

Adventuretime
Batman: Beyond
Batman: The Brave and the Bold
Ben 10
Ben 10: Alien Force
Ben 10: Ultimate Alien
Chowder
Courage the Cowardly Dog
Dexter's Laboratory
Ed, Edd, and Eddy
Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends
The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy
Johnny Bravo
Justice League
Justice League: Unlimited
Powerpuff Girls
The Regular Show
Robotomy
Samurai Jack

I haven't found as many Adult Swim Shows:

Aqua Teen Hunger Force
The Boondocks
Robot Chicken
Squidbillies
The Venture Bros.

No Brak Show and no Sealab 2021.

Thanks for the heads up on the CN/AS stuff, went through and added a couple of things, looking forward to watching Samurai Jack again, it's been a while.

Stupid question but are there any backdoor ways to get to netflix.com? My work computer blocks it but some other sites that it block straight up I have found ways to get to like this one.

I don't know of one, but is it worth risking your job to watch Netflix at work?

Then put in a request to your IT Dept to unblock the site if you're so confident.
Would have been cool if all three seasons of the boondocks were up since that series is done.
Season 4 is supposed to start this summer.

There's a dumb little April Fool's thing on Netflix on the 360 where one of the categories is "Movies starring actors who look like Zach Galifinakis."

As for the Fringe question, they have up to season 4.

I'm gonna be so busy for the next few weeks :D

Eureka Season 5 is up. Add that to the list of things I will have to watch after Justice League, JLI, Batman Beyond, Mad Men and Fringe.
I see a good category for Aprils fools on mine, "Movies that are in English but still require a subtitle." Ha ha. Love it.
Mine has "Surreal ballets based on a William Shatner..." & earlier it had something about crossed arms on the cover. Haha... Now it says Reality TV About People with No Concept of Reality.

More Cartoon Network:
Destroy Build Destroy
Dude, What Would Happen
Generator Rex
My Gym Partner's a Monkey

All those DC comics shows make me sad. Glad they're there, but it just reminds me that they're canceled and never coming back.
Is it just me or have they barely added anything lately?
They just added a shit ton of Cartoon Network content as well as a bunch of Bond Films. Aside from that, it's been a little slow.
