Netflix Streaming Thread 2.0

Well.. today, we get Pet Semetary 1 and 2, as well as Mr. Deeds. Yesterday, the US got Rango.

Canada gets Braveheart, Wayne's World, Rat Race, Daybreakers, Torchwood, a whole mess of Power Rangers, and X-Men: First Class. Yesterday, Canada got Dilbert, The Tick and The Ellen Show. The day prior, they got Midnight in Paris, and Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

Man, US Netflix sucks.
I noticed that there is a ton of music stuff coming on April 16.
Did you notice that from the Coming Soon section of the OP? ;)

US always had the Spider-Man with NPH doing voicework, I thought? I think it's on Crackle as well.

Have they? I haven't noticed. I'll edit.

 No. I never check the OP. I saw it a couple weeks ago on some other site.

i have the same issue on my Vizio TV app

if you go back in and out of your instant queue a bunch of times it might show up for a couple seconds, it did for me, seems like NEW stuff wont add to it

It would seem My Little Pony is up for all your bronies out there.

I've been completely hooked on Supernatural as of late. Once I finish up that, I might start 24 since TV shows are getting pretty sparse for me on Netflix.

That's just the buggy servers on Netflix's end that occasionally gives you a blank or nearly empty instant queue.

24 is the shit! Jack Bauer is the man.

I've been watching nothing but Pawn Stars on here recently.

Does anybody else have problems with their Wiis freezing up when they start netflix. Mine doesn't even get to the selection menu screen and freezes up.

My wife started watching that on Sunday.

I like the animation, reminds me of Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends, but can't say I care about anything else. Was on the verge of falling asleep watching it last night while I was watching it with her.

Does anyone know how the selection on Amazon Prime's streaming service is compares? With PS3 functionality, Prime is looking like a better option. Although you pay on an annual basis, split across 12 months it's cheaper than Netflix and you get the free shipping perks on Amazon purchases. I might be jumping ship really soon...

I believe the AMC content (Walking Dead, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, etc) is exclusive to Netflix in regards to being free. You can still rent it from Amazon.

I have both Amazon & Netflix and will most likely be dropping Netflix once I finish the AMC shows and can confirm Amazon has some other stuff on my "to watch" list like all the old Buster Keaton films that my boys and I have started watching. My daughter has already confirmed that both Blue's Clue's and Yo Gabba Gabba are available on Amazon.:D

Man, I havent found anything I wanted to watch on here since the update. It for some reason makes it confusing and hard to find new stuff. They seem to never change the "recently added" list ever.

I usually refer to FeedFliks to see what's new on streaming. Why Netflix makes it so difficult to see what's new or what's coming is beyond me. They have such a convoluted site that has progressively gotten worse with each incarnation.

Netflix is good only if you have a disc come in the mail that is current, if you are like me and just on a friends Netflix and using Instant its only good for some movies and old shows

Hulu was amazing, but now all CBS is gone, Entourage used to be on there, etc. Your paying for over the air TV with commericals. It seems pointless, luckily like me I am on a friends so I dont have to pay for it

Amazon Instant Video is perfect, if you are already on Prime for shipping reasons or other reasons

Vudu is the best Day 1 HD movie VoD service

Does anybody use Crackle on Xbox live?

I've heard good things about it, but haven't really used it. I've heard it's a good supplement to Netflix.

Ha. It has a weird combination of classic movies, and absolute trash.

From what i have seen, neither service is a replacement to each other.
Amazon looks nice, but some shows are not backed by prime service. For example i can watch Supernatural right now on Netflix, but Amazon will make me buy it.
So i think you can just relay on one service.

I am sure the media industry will cripple the service in the long run. On the other hand i have not much information how these companies do the services.
I just see what i have to pay in the end.

Watched Chasing Ghosts last night. It's about the top tier game players from the very early 80s. It was actually a pretty good documentary and kept my interest all the way through.
The United States of Tara is so much better than I thought it would be.
Great show, still don't understand why it was canceled.

Has anyone not seen the first 15 min of Enter the Void

I think the movie is incredibly important
and puerile at the same time but then again so was Apocalypse Now but then again so were the reasons for the Vietnam war

Watched the cheesy, old black and white B movie The Manster last night. Half man. Half monster. Yes. It's got a bunch of unintentionally funny moments that are amusing, but drags on a bit too long to really recommend for fans of bad movies. Still, it's free if you have Netflix anyway, so I say watch it! :)

It's a Japanese American monster movie. I mean, most of the cast and crew are Japanese Americans, and they made a Japanese monster movie. The star is not Japanese. Apparently converting the (married) American journalist into a Manster requires injecting a serum, but also requires getting him to visit geishas, and other sinfulness, to set off the transformation for some reason. LOL.

The return of Arrested Development on Netflix will be huge:
Netflix plans to release all 10 episodes of the rebooted new season of Arrested Development at once.

The Bluth family’s latest adventures will begin streaming on the video service on the same day sometime next year, Netflix chief Ted Sarandos told reporters at the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas.

Sarandos refused to confirm this plan a couple months ago after the service’s first series, Lilyhammer, dropped all its episodes at the same time. But industry sources say Netflix has always planned to use the full-season release strategy as a way to differentiate itself from traditional TV outlets.

AD creator Mitch Hurwitz also told reporters that although he had originally planned to build each episode of season 4 around a different character, the scripts now more closely resemble the old show. There was no mention of the AD movie, but Hurwitz added that he wouldn’t mind continuing the show on Netflix.

THANK GOD FOR MORE ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT.

Also, there really aren't many duds in the MST3K streaming library. It's just a shame that they're not all streaming, and that the availability is somewhat rotating. My girlfriend and I are watching the 10 or so discs of MST3Ks we haven't seen yet as fast as we can (2-3 a week), then I'm canceling my disc subscription.

For those that don't know, Netflix added most of the Marvel animated films that weren't already on there, such as Hulk Vs and Thor: Mighty Tales of Asgard. At least, I don't think those ones were on there. Most of the recent ones are now all on there regardless.

I just hope netflix doesn't raise prices again because of this. Didn't watch AD when it was on tv the first time 'round, tried it on netflix and didn't care for it at all (wasn't the least bit funny to me, no wonder it got cancelled), so won't be watching any newly produced episodes either. Just don't want a price hike to cover their costs for this show and whatever other crap they decide to produce (Lillyhammer).

And any word on what the latest new version of the netflix ps3 software was for? Didn't notice any difference when I played it just now.

Thanks - I'll add these to my queue.

Streaming prices have stayed the same since they were introduced.

I love Arrested Development. I'll have to add the streaming back for a month when it comes out.

Otherwise I'm fine with my disc rentals and Amazon Prime Streaming now that they have it on the PS3.

Any good horror recommendations on Instant Streaming? I enjoy more ghost movies than anything, but not sure of any worthwhile ones. Enjoyed Insidious up until the end, and don't mind the Paranormal Activity movies (though I found myself wanting to fast forward through a good chunk of it. Just want some really good ghost stuff that doesn't end in a stupid cheesy way.

That's good news. I saw Planet Hulk on there earlier so I figured the rest were as well. Also, everyone should watch Planet Hulk and Dr. Strange. They are easily the best Marvel animated films. Especially Dr. Strange. :applause:

But now they're producing their own shows, wether the actual netflix member wants to watch them or not. So the cost of making these shows has to come from somewhere, just hoping it's not via a price increase.

i mentioned before to someone about porn esq movies on netflix and i found 2 in my que that i watched today that fall into that category.

one is called Leap Year but i warn you now its a slow starter that over time careens into some weird shit you may or may not be comfortable with but if you want to see sex and masturbation then its for you.

the other is Sweet Sex and Love its a korean flick with maybe 8 to 10 sex scenes tons of nudity and a weird fucking ending.the main chick is pretty well known from korean dramas so if you watch korean dramas youll recognize her.

Try Devils Backbone. I think it's still on streaming. Too lazy to check.
