New TRU clearance as of 4/14

Finally, I have reason to write again as a whole bunch of games are finally going on clearance! Of course, some of these games are only going down $.01, from a .99 to a .98 price point, but this puts them in the 'clearance' category and therefore eligible for the extra '20% off' currently offered on all clearance.... Also, the percentage taken off clearance will be going up over the next couple of weeks, and though I couldn't get an exact timetable I do know future signs will read "Save up to 80% when you take an extra 50% off". Right now they read "Save up to 70% when you take an extra 20% off", so make of that what you will. In any case, I suggest grabbing the games you want ASAP and holding onto them unopened (if you're a really hardcore CAG, anyway) until the dust settles; TRU will definitely honor their prices should clearance go lower over the next few weeks after you buy them.

For the lazy or math challenged, remember:
19.98 - 20% = $16 ; 14.98 - 20% = $12 . By 4/14, if clearance hits 30%...well, even lower prices of course!

I just picked up Blue Dragon for 15.98, have been waiting for this price drop. The game looks decent but didn't want to pay 40 bucks for it

Anyways picked up Far Cry 15.99 and Earth Defence Force 11.99 both for the Xbox 360.

Gonna go tomorow and try to find Yakuza and other stuff
 
This is my first post. Went to local Toys R Us in Hobart Indiana and found Blue Dragon even cheaper than written in clearance thread for $15.98! YMMV of course based on the original thread, so good luck!
 
I know there's plenty of CAGs in the Boston area...just got back from TRU in Woburn and they have a pretty good selection. From memory:

360: 7 or 8 copies of Blue Dragon, 2 or 3 Stranglehold and Def Jam Icon (both are behind the register in the case), also saw Forza 2, Stuntman, Earth Defense Force, Ratatouille, and DDR, there were others, I just can't remember.

DS: Multiple copies of Children of Mana, Magical Starsign, Chocobo Tales, Power Play Pool, Meet the Robinsons, Eco Creatures, My Word Coach. I only saw 1 Elite Beat Agents, there may be more though.

PSP: 4 or 5 copies of Jeanne D'Arc

PS3: Juiced 2 and sports titles.

Gamecube: Sports titles (Madden?) and Baten Kaitos Origins, which I don't think has been mentioned. I grabbed 1 and there's 1 left, it's marked $19.99 but rang up $14.99...$11.98 with clearance pricing.
 
They do have their own threads but I say screw it. I apologize to the hardcore about my opinion, but what ya gonna do? fight me? PM me for my address if you do want to fight.

Just a heads up for people in the Woodland Hills, CA area. The TRU there has 3 copies of Valkyrie Profile 2 left. I'd grab a copy if I were you sooner rather than later.
 
So is this game actually any good? I've heard really mixed comments from friends of mine. I'd probably buy it for $20, it just didn't strike me as anything terribly exciting and new in the realm of RPGs when it came out.

So, is it good, or is it "for $20, its not exactly pissing away money".
 
I've done stupider things with $20 bucks by far. If you want a RPG go for it as it has most of what you need, it's just not very memorable and doesn't do anything better than has been done before.

(Be warned, my opinion above is based solely off of playing the demo for maybe an hour, but I feel it is accurate as I have read alot of reviews and was highly anticipating this game.)

As for the fighting, only barb wire is allowed, 23 feet to be exact and may be used in any way you see fit as long as you do not go over 23 feet. If you break this single rule you are disqualified.

I'm going to get a refund on this PS3 controller (it sucks soooo bad), so I might take it back to the Brandon one.

I thought the demo was mediocre so I never jumped on the game when it came out. I eventually picked it up a couple of weeks ago at target on clearance for 14.98. I'm about 60 hours in (at the end) and the full game is a lot more fun than I remember the demo being.

Actually, it seems to be the common experience that the game is much better than the demo hints at. See below for example ;).

Blue Dragon may just be my favorite 360 game. I bought it at the full $60 and while I sort of regret doing that only in that I found it at Target for $14.98 recently, at least I got a lot of play out of it (and I did beat it well before all the drops happened, which is more than I can say for most games I buy at or near full price ;)).

(By the way, I merged the "YMMV Blue Dragon at ToysRUs" thread into this one in case anyone is wondering why all the Blue Dragon talk all of a sudden).
 
Well I will be checking this during my lunch break. I really don't need to buy any more games but fuck this is a good deal if I can find some of these games.
 
Picked up Virtua Tennis 3, Stranglehold, Blue Dragon, and Earth Defense Force 2017.

More than I wanted to spend, but hey. Also, I've now gone TWICE and I've STILL forgotten to check on Yakuza. Bah. :lol:

Yakuza will probably be a major hit or miss on finding it. My TRU had two yesterday when I was there. Needless to say, they now have one. :)

I went to a TRU in SoCal and didn't check the Wii games but the Xbox 360 ones rang up as was stated in the OP.

None of these three items were marked as being on clearance. Employee tried to tell me BD was $39.99 ("The price is right there."), until I forced her to scan it. Cue priceless clueless employee expression. As she handed me the bag, she said, "How did you know these three titles were on clearance?" I told her I was omnipotent. ;)

There aren't any more PSP Stamina batteries but there are a crap ton of Perfect Dark LEs.
 
Woodbridge VA TRU has a bunch of Blue Dragons left, a few Hitman Blood money, one Dead Rising, and several others (PS2 Godfather, etc)

Now last week they had 2 Yakuza but now there is zippy. I guess I waited too long.
 
Is Gurumin worth picking up?
I've been thinking about grabbing that game for some time and I know my TRU has a few copies.
I may pick it up Thursday.

Edit: Looked it up on Gamefaqs after posting and I'm seeing people have gotten it at Best Buy for $9.99.
I'll check there first.
 
Head good things about Earth Defence Force. Il look for that since I own the others. Really recomend Blue Dragon. Story is very slow but other then that it is a great JRPG.

Old Evil Avatar Guy Philip Kholer I think recomended Gurumin to people and I like it as well. One of the few PSP games I have.

Is Enchanted Arms worth $16?

Oh. They also have a few digital cameras on clearance. I picked up a spare Canon SD1000 for $119.99.
 
struck out completely at my Toys R Us to no surprise to me, however I did manage to pick up a wireless 360 headset for $23 after the clearance discount.
 
Snagged Hitman: Blood Money for 360 for under $12 (was on clearance for 14.99), The Bigs for 360 for 15.98 (clearance at $20) and Jeanne D'Arc.

Thanks a lot for the heads up. I don't see Blood Money or The Bigs in the OP, so maybe it's worth a look at other stores. I'm in vacation in Myrtle Beach right now, so I got really lucky catching this deal post yesterday and had to swing by to catch a peek. Glad I did!

Damnit, you must've beat me out by an hour or so.

I ended up settling with Blue Dragon. I almost got MotoGP 07, but passed when I remembered I didn't care for 06.
 
After 5 Toy's R Us stores around the Philly area and quarter tank of gas = 0 Blue Dragon. Did pick a few things up though so it wasn't a total waste of gas.

I was sort of amazed... out of the four games I wanted, Blue Dragon was the only one they had more than two copies of. I actually went and picked up VT3 yesterday, and there were only single copies of Stranglehold and EDF, and only two VT3. I convinced myself to go back this morning and pick them up if they were still there, which I assumed they wouldn't be.

I also enjoyed how there was a spot for Blue Dragon that had clearance tags, and a spot that still had regular price tags. I'm undecided on how many that meant they had left.
 
Hmmm... Of course I already had most of these games but I'm wondering if it's worth looking for Blazing Angels 2. Anyone play it?

So, I returned to my TRU with my receipt for Blue Dragon from last Saturday. I had bought that and a gift, that took my total over $50. I used a $10 off $50 coupon, that took 6.67 off Blue Dragon, and $3.33 off of the other item. So, I paid $33.32 for Blue Dragon the other day. She returned it at that price, then rang it back up... and took the $6.67 off again. So, I ended up paying $9.29 for Blue Dragon.

Because of my good fortune, I ended up picking up 4 titles.
Blazing Angels 2 (360)
Jeanne D'Arc (PSP)
Splinter Cell: Double Agent (360)
Godfather (Wii)

Not a bad haul when all is said and done.

I got the last copy of blue Dragon for $16
My TRU also had a shit ton of PSP 2200 Batteries Marked at $17 -> got it for $13!

SCORE!

Almost worth the gas as I forgot my wallet like an idiot on trip #1.
 
I picked up Blue Dragon at the Gainesville, FL store. They still had a copy or two left. The guy at the register said somebody else had called about the game, but he couldn't find it so he told the guy on the phone that they didn't have it. The clearance games were on a separate rack next to the console case.

They didn't have any PS2 games, so no Yakuza for me though.
