New Xbox 360...just the 360

So I got the red rings last night. I am looking to replace my system naturally but I only want the system. I don't really care about the Kinect. I have the HD Transfer Cable still so I should be able to just swap all of my stuff to the new system from my old HD. Now all I need is the system. Advice?

You could buy a used 360, which I would try to get a Jasper model if you can. Another option would be to buy a used 4 gig 360 slim. I heard you can open the original hdd, and transfer it to a new slim. There are youtube videos showing how to do it, and I hear it's a relatively easy process.
