NHL 2K6: Freezing Problem?

I realize this game is old. With the Best Buy Clearance going on, I'm sure this question would come up.

Is there a patch/fix for the freezing problems with this game? I have no problems loading it up, but if I quit an exhibition game it freezes up.

If there isn't a fix, might have to trade this into EB, only paid $5 for it anyway.

I believe this was a known problem in NHL 2K6. I think it froze a lot during franchise for me. It never really froze during normal games though....bad copy? Clear cache?

I have never been able to save a franchise game due to freezing after viewing the game stats and trying to return to the menu.I also played a few games on Live and it froze after viewing the stats as well.I can't believe this problem was not fixed prior to releasing the game.

Lame. I'm surprised a patch was never released to fix it.

Oh well, looks like I'll be trading it in soon.
