I don't know if it's an error or a reprint, but Amazon claims to have 999 available for $35, which beats the hell out of all the other prices I've seen online. It's not in stock yet, but it's worth a shot if you're interested in getting it. Amazon expects to get it in stock in two or three weeks. I checked it yesterday and many sellers were charging $70 and up. http://www.amazon.com/9-Hours-Persons-Doors-Nintendo-DS/dp/B003VR5PPY/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
EDIT: Just read about the difference between a visual novel and an adventure game. This is definitely an adventure game. I can't edit the tags for some reason, though.
EDIT 2: It's been requested that I point out that the aksys store has the watch bundle available online for 36.99. http://www.aksysgames.com/games/nineninenine/ It includes a watch designed to look like the bracelets worn in 999. I feel like I should point out that the Amazon version does NOT include the watch.
Really, you still can't find this five year old game that was originally a GBA title in Japan?

Cause Capcom is selling it with Ghost Trick here and it was ported to Wiiware recently, as well as Iphone I believe.

Sure this isn't an everlasting Nintendo title, the well will eventually run dry but that was a horrible example.
I didn't say you couldn't find it, and the fact that it's a GBA port and has versions on other systems has nothing to do with what I was talking about. Which is print runs on new DS copies of games.

Also, the fact that they're reprinting the first game kinda proves my point. That Capcom stopped printing new copies of the games even though they're still popular and selling.

Wow you guys not kidding, Capcom really did re-print it! This is news to me.
I never played Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. I hate the idea of yelling objection out loud so umm.... debating debating...

fuck. Seeing videos of this game makes me want to find some private crawl space or attic a la Lady in White or The NeverEnding Story and indulge in this. I'm all in!

Not sure if joking, but you can just hit a button for Objections. The Phoenix Wright series is comprised of easily the best writing on the DS, including 999. And I love 999. To own a DS without Phoenix Wright is a disservice to the platform.

That makes no sense but whatever. The guy was worried that this game will be obsolete within the few months since it's release. I'm not saying he should wait til the 3DSi XL Lite comes out, but he's got time. No need to buy a game you can't play.

Though I too bought a DS game prior to having a DS. I was waiting a couple months for the Lite to come out and found Kirby CC on clearance for $15 so I couldn't pass it up.

The only reason they're reprinting Phoenix Wright is to promote the new Phoenix Wright vs. Professor Layton game that's coming out. Capcom has said on numerous occasions in the past that although there's demand for a reprint, there's not enough to justify the number of copies they would have to produce. Until recently, new copies of Phoenix Wright have been selling for well over $50.

Not saying this will be the same way, but the Phoenix Wright series isn't a bad example to show that DS games can go out of stock entirely.
Do you guys know how much shipping is from Aksys?
It's included in the listed price.
Do you guys know how much shipping is from Aksys?
This is Aksys Website.
http://www.aksysgames.com/store/#nineninenine

The shipping cost is included in the price of the game. Basically you pay $36.99 for the game 999, watch, and shipping.

I was not kidding about the Phoenix Wright thing, so I guess I will have to buy that game someday. There is one that is $15 but is Apollo Justice, I want the original part 1.

I'm not sure if you are interested in purchasing and playing the newly released Ghost Trick, but if you are looking to get an amazing deal on the original Phoenix Wright game, Capcom has an excellent bundle in their online store going on with the purchase of Ghost Trick. Purchase GT and for an extra $10 they will include the now OOP original Phoenix Wright game.

I just got mine in the mail yesterday and was very pleased, despite the slooooooow ass shipping through a no-name shipping company with an absolutely useless tracking system. It took approx. 8 days to get to my door.

The game's release date was this tuesday so the slow shipping was probably intentional (so you don't get a copy before everyone else)

Yeah, that's what I figured.
Getting back on topic.

Mine just arrived, really wasn't expecting it this soon.
Neato. I've never had UPS deliver anything to me before 6PM, though.

You would be surprised to see your package in your mail box.

They shipped my order from the last sale via USPS, although the shipping confirmation from PayPal says UPS.

Oh, that's cool. Gonna check my mail then.

Edit:

You guys are jerks. I bet it was all a ruse to get me to check the mail in my reindeer sweater.

Yeah, when I received my game and watch a few weeks ago, it arrived in a small flat-rate priority mail box w/ the Aksys address sticker on the outside.

Yep, same here. The watch is actually pretty cool. It's heavy, but going on the description I got from the game, I think it's supposed to be. The only issue I have is that the LED display is red, but in the game it's blue. Other than that it's probably one of the best pieces of free game swag I have, including stuff from limited editions.

hehe

It depend how far you live from the warehouse. If its in the same region it would take very little time to arrive. I did not get mine either, yet.

As for, GHOST TRICK™: PHANTOM DETECTIVE NEW CLASSICS BUNDLE (DS). Did each game came with their respective case and manual or its bundle inside one case? Also the website says it's back ordered. Wonder if that means they not selling it no more, since its out of print.

wow i totally didn't expect it today but my package showed up as well. I figured all the west coast people were getting theirs earlier.

This watch is awesome. I expected something cheap but this thing weighs more than my Rolux. I'd never wear it in public thought.

only 100 left!

I want to know this too.

Well, mine came from California, and I live in Ohio. So I don't think I'm very close to the warehouse at all.

Both games came separately in their own respective cases and factory sealed, just as if you were to purchase them new in the store. ;)

EDIT: Correction - Ghost Trick is factory sealed, while Ace Attorney is shrink wrapped. But what I meant was that they were both sealed.

Maybe California is where they accept the returns and theres a warehouse closer than that for shipping. I'm in New Jersey so I guess I'm a few hours too far? :whistle2:(

Its 2 seperate games though Ace was shrink wrapped while Ghost Trick was sealed.

Its probably back ordered just like 999 they didnt think it would do so well

It was in a large brown box. Mine shipped from Indiana and i finally got mine yesterday when they shipped on the 6th. My friend lives in Indiana and hasn't got his yet.

Im in no rush to get 999 as i have huge DS backlog

Yeah, the oversized box was a bit unnecessary haha. But yeah, I just received mine yesterday, as well, and it shipped on the 6th too. However, like you said, I also won't be getting to it anytime soon with my backlog. Ugh, waaay too many good games to play and not nearly enough time! :)

Back when Castlevania: PoR came out w/ the 25th Anniversary extra, I received the game and was surprised that it was sealed in shrink wrap, as well, not "factory sealed." My backlog is so large, and has been for so long, that I've still got that unopened!

Nice, debating at the moment because with the shipping cost is $45.69.

Gamestop has Phoenix Wright for $12.99 used. If you can find it. Theres a few places around me that has it but not sure if its worth the trip.

I just bough 999 yesterday so not sure if I want to dump another 40+ on DS games with LBP2 coming out next week.

Nope, the postage stamp says it was mailed from the same zip code as Aksys in California.

i already bought this and the watch for $38 shipped.
if u want it cheaper then sign up for the newsletter and get 10% off your first order. used it to get the Ghost Trick combo for $40 shipped

Yeah, I wish I would have known about that promo code before it shipped. I would have cancelled my order and reordered using that. Oh well.. it's only $5 I suppose.

Ack...you bastard! You just caused me to spend even more money. I took a quick look at the reviews for both Ghost Trick and the original PW and realized I had to have both. CAG is going to put me in the poor house.
promo code THANKYOUTEN should also still be in effect, knocks $4 off the price, not sure if it can be combined with the newsletter code or not.
I thought THANKYOUTEN was the newsletter code?

Could be, whatever the case you don't necessarily have to sign up for the newsletter to use it.

yeah capcom has been sealing alot of their games with shitty plastic(speaking about pheonix wrights seal).

I got Mega Man Zero Collection from Toys R Us with what looked to be an after market seal job.

all the copies had it >.

98 copies of 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors left. At this rate I expect it to sell out by Monday. Yay further validate my purchase! Sell out fast!

I'm a little confused. When you say if you want it cheaper, you're referring to Ghost Trick and not 999, right? (i.e. the newsletter discount applies to Ghost Trick)

Yes he/she is referring to Ghost Trick Bundle at Capcom website.
Copies from Akysys ordered now don't come with the watch, do they? I assumed not, but some of the recent posts here sound like they do.
It sure does!

Yeah, he/she is referring to Ghost Trick Bundle from Capcom site.

I was trying to search for the latest NPD sales reports and figures for Dec, but apparently they have not yet been released. Was curious to see if it lists how many copies Aksys moved within the month of Dec.

They sold 12
Thanks for the insight.
I try.

Keep in mind that's just an estimate, so don't go quoting me or anything. Pretty good estimate if I do say so myself though.

Haha, I'd say that's a pretty abysmal estimate considering how quickly the game has been going from Aksys' store. But I do appreciate the attempt. ;)
