Yeah, it's pretty cool.

He did the same thing with With Teeth. I specifically remember a guitar going back and forth between the two back speakers during one of the songs.
Do you recall which track it was? I just got the With Teeth DualDisc in the mail and apparently it has a bunch of different modes and stuff you can trigger, PLII or something... other digital modes. It sounds kind of spacey to me... was wondering if there's anything wrong with it. I'd like a good surround sound test track to test it out on. The media itself came in pristine condition, I do no regret buying a used copy at all. (I also bought Incubus - A Crow Left to the Murder, Michael Jackson - Thriller, and The Who - Tommy SACD's yesterday :D)

I have to say... I really like Pretty Hate Machine a lot more after today. I went ahead and threw the whole NIN discography on a DVD (along with Nirvana discography and some QotsA). I listened to Pretty Hate Machine and a few others, damn that album is awesome. I like it a lot more than I used to. I still think The Downward Spiral is Trent's magnum opus, but PHM ranks up there as well. This is how I would rate them:

PHM - 9
TDS - 10
Fragile - 9
With Teeth - 9
Year Zero - 7, just didn't like it as much as his other stuff.
Ghosts - 8 (Good, but not doesn't feel like "True" NIN. Seems more like Trent just having fun and giving us whatever he felt like. Strangely enough, my favorite track off Ghosts is 38... which wasn't even included on the regular discs, thanks again Spor for that :))
The Slip - 7, Don't really like it, feels incomplete.

I want a NIN t-shirt now. :bouncy:

You might be able to find some NIN survivalism or year zero t-shirts on clearance if you go to the most loathesome store in the world, Hot Topic. I paid $10 for a Year Zero shirt, didn't much care for the survivalism one though. The Year Zero and Beside You In Time NIN shirts are badass.

Will check! Thanks.

Got screwed out of good GA tickets for the Jersey show. At that arena, they split GA on the floor to "VIP" (front of the floor) and "Back GA." I bought back GA as soon as they went on sale because I figured I wouldn't get any better, only to be offered front GA a few minutes later. Ticketmaster doesn't let you cancel orders :bomb:

Cancel it on your credit card if seats are still available and just repurchase front seats.

For those eagerly awaiting to see NIN in concert on tour this year, there's two vids Trent posted on the front page of the Nine Inch Nails website of 1,000,000 and Letting You in rehearsal.

Updated the first post.

I guess that will be replacing the limited edtion after it sells out? Hopefully a duel-disc means that Trent mixed this in 5.1
No clue dude... but it does look tempting. The regular version is apparently 3 discs?
That's a typo. The digipak is only the cd and the dvd with 5 songs from rehearsal.

Maybe that's why it felt The Slip was missing stuff in between certain tracks, otherwise, it flowed very well.

Anyway, I'll be buying this regardless.:D:applause:

I'll most likely be buying it shortly after release. Short on cash but luckily just got a new job. Me likey surround sound mixes. Also, feels good to support artists I really like. NIN is probably my favorite of all time. (either them or Nirvana, but unlike Kurt, Trent didn't OD and is still making great stuff.)
Sorry to be confused here, but the $14 CD is the limited one and the $25 one is not? (Wow last post was a while ago eh. I just heard about this today from nin email).
The $25 one is the vinyl edition.

Anyone been to a show yet? I go on Wednesday.

Also, just started listening to Year Zero a few days ago. Kind of rubbed me the wrong way at first, but now I love it. I wish The Great Destroyer was longer.

Can always get Y34RZ3R0R3M1X3D. I love the version of Great Destroyer with it being more accoustic guitar heavy and I'm jealous of everyone who gets to see NIN before I do. Mine is next Tuesday, but I got KICKASS seats so I'm happy...

Though goddamn, I miss the days of angry Reznor so much.

How are you guys getting good seats? I want to be ready for whenever the second leg of the tour goes on sale but I dunno if NIN have a special fan preorder or something? Thanks.

Originally I tried getting the preorder, but it sold in less then 5 minutes and I thought I was screwed. So I guess semi-moment of desperation got it off Ticketmaster and got shitty seats, two weeks later my friend told me Livenation had seats that WERE FAR fucking superior then Ticketmaster so I bought those as well...

Well moral of this story? Go to Livenation, Ticketmaster got the scraps in terms of tickets.
Anyone been to a show yet? I go on Wednesday.
I went to the 8/12 show in Knoxville, TN. It was one of my favorite concerts of all time - you won't be disappointed. I also get to see them again downtown this Halloween

I'm going on Wednesday too! I can't wait this is my first time seeing them live.

Saw them at Lollapalooza on Aug 3 and then a couple of nights later at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut on Aug 7.

I found the setlist to be a little too user-friendly for this tour...if I never have to hear "Closer" again, I'd be OK with that...but the staging and production of the show are amazing.
Last night was fuckin awesome. Glad they played Only, and the screen effect during The Greater Good was very cool.
I couldn't tell what it was until halfway through the song. It blew my mind:

This is a post by PhrostByte.

I like a lot of music, I'm sure we all do.. but I always come back to NIN when something just ain't right in my life... like when I feel overly emotional. I especially listen to a lot of the older stuff, although the new stuff has grown on me as well. The cool thing about the older stuff... at least to me, is that it seems like almost every song is about addiction in some way or another. Some are about codependency, others about self-destructive behaviors, and of course many are about his cocaine problem.. and a lot of the time it's obvious which theme is being articulated. Other times, it's not as obvious. To me the actual theme doesn't matter, the music can be interpreted many ways, but the underlying emotion is always felt. Like... right now I'm listening to That's What I Get. Aren't the lyrics awesome?

Just when everything was making sense
You took away all my self-confidence
Now all that I've been hearing must be true
I guess I'm not the only boy for you

But that's what I get
That's what I get
That's what I get
That's what I get

How could me turn us into this?
After you just taught me how to kiss you
I told you I'd never say goodbye
Now I'm slipping on the tears you made me cry

But that's what I get
That's what I get
That's what I get
That's what I get

Why does it come as a surprise
To think that I was so naive
Maybe didn't mean so much
But it meant everything to me

But that's what I get
Now that I think about it.. I'm guessing Pretty Hate Machine was pre-coke addiction?

Linkin Park covering Wish.

These were both so hilarious.
Someone just pointed me to this, not sure if it's been posted before. I love how offended the host gets about Reznor.
That was awesome...thanks for posting it. I've know the story for ages but I never knew that Hard Copy did a segment on it.

Also: I've got that same exact Wax Trax Records shirt that Trent is wearing during one of the interview clips around here somewhere.
Man, that Linkin Park cover is like my ears getting DP'ed over and over again...
It wasn't as good as Trent's version, but I think it was a pretty good cover. The vocals and guitar riffs were off at first but once they got the tempo up a little, it came together.

I bought Year Zero Remixed, hoping that the multi-track disk had the great destroyer ending in separate tracks, but it's all together in the drum track. Seems pretty stupid to me.

I think more so I just HATE Chester and that band does nothing for me...

Also seeing Avril Lavigne doesn't help matters.

Or more aptly titled, "Check out my new camera and video editing software!"
Seriously did this even have anything to do with NIN? Neat find, but I just was expecting more :/

Just got a rather cool email from the website/trent regarding a survey:
Message from Trent:
Hello everyone.
I'd like to thank everyone for a very successful year so far in the world of Nine Inch Nails. I'm enjoying my couple of weeks off between legs of our Lights In The Sky tour and got to thinking... "wouldn't it be fun to send out a survey to everyone that's shown interest in NIN?" Well, that's not exactly how it went, but regardless - here it is. As we've moved from the familiar world of record labels and BS into the unknown world of doing everything yourself, we've realized it would benefit us and our ability to interact with you if we knew more about what you want, what you like, what you look like naked, etc. I know it's a pain in the ass but we'd truly appreciate it if you'd take a minute and help us out. As an incentive, everyone who completes the survey will be able to download a video of live performance from this most recent tour (and I know what's going through your little minds right now: "I'll just grab this off a torrent site and not have to fill out the survey!!!" and guess what? You will be able to do just that and BEAT THE SYSTEM!!!! NIN=pwn3d!!!)
BUT
What if we were to select some of those that DO complete the survey and provide them with something really cool? I'm not saying we'll ever get around to it, but if we did maybe something like signed stuff, flying someone to a show somewhere in the world, a magic amulet that makes you invisible, a date with Jeordie White (condoms supplied of course), you know - something cool. See, you'd miss that opportunity AND be a cheater.
Do the right thing - help us out. You'll feel better.
Thank you and I've had too much caffeine this morning,
Trent

Yea I got that too. Filled it out and got download links for 1,000,000 live from Red Rocks.
