I did some digging and finally found a source that gives dates (unsure if credible, another one of those clickbaity gaming info sites). The source says the discounted VC1 promo runs through 12/17.

He said that this sale BEATS any other sale for physical.. i was just pointing out that it does not. Digital *should* be cheaper than physical but its not.

Both games are tough but in a good way.

I loved Hyper Light Drifter. It’s a very well crafted game and has a big world you feel lost in without ever actually being lost. (Sorta like Super Metroid)

Dead Cells is a lot of fun too but it is procedurally generated (though it’s much better than most games of that genre) and it’s primarily about combat. It does get pretty addictive trying to get a good run.

Either way you’ll have a good time, but personally, I lean toward HLD. I prefer designed worlds over procedural ones. Anyway just my two cents.

Also, I agree. Celeste is great. One of my favorite games of the year.

Both REALLY good, both challenging, both stylish as hell, both (almost) entirely wordless--but otherwise, completely different games.

HLD is a top-down Zelda-like exploration action-adventure thing (with a long linear main quest and lots of secrets); Dead Cells is a side-scrolling Metroidvania/Roguelike (where most of your runs will be short and even a full one will be less than an hour, but you'll have a lot of them).

It'll probably come down to personal preference. Hard to go wrong either way, though!

(EDIT: Also, yes to Celeste).

Man... when I ran through the promo page this afternoon at work I saw Hyrule Warriors and had been excited all night to get it. I came home to realize it was just the 3DS version on sale and not the Switch one : ((((

I ended up snagging Snipperclippers, Celeste, Sonic Mania and TowerFall. Not a bad haul, especially considering I haven't used my gold coins in a month or so and was able to use them to cover the entire cost of Celeste! : D

I think it's time to finally play Shovel Knight. 

I'm close to finishing Hollow Knight. I'm so torn on my experience with this game. I love the presentation so much, but it's also the part of the game that frustrates the hell out of me. 

 
Tying to determine if I want to double-dip on Disgaea 5. I got it on PC just a couple weeks ago (bored impulse-buy on sale), but I think I’d play it more on Switch. But I also have AC Odyssey coming Friday and will be dedicating large amounts of time to that in the coming months.

Also, does anyone know how to test the Wii U for disc read problems? Out of the 5 games I tried on mine 2 did not work. The boxes for those games had black tape over them (got them from Gamestop) if that helps.

Sega Ages: Sonic the Hedgehog, and Sega Ages: Lightning Force (Thunder Force), are currently 69.xx pesos each on the Mexican Switch eShop. Converted to USD, that's about $3.45. Also used 268 in gold coins which (according to my bank statement) brought it down to about $2.02, and $2.13 respectively. Beats the hell out of paying $5.99 plus tax on the American eShop. The upcoming release of Sega Ages: Phantasy Star (in December) is currently 93 pesos, or about $4.60 USD. Can't pre-purchase this one currently 😢

N++ did come out on Switch, a decent while ago. No clue if it was delisted, I hadn’t heard that. The leaderboards and user-made levels seemed to be broken on launch and several months after, but something was fixed at some point and I’ve been able to access both last I checked.
 
Debating on getting either Battle chasers, street fighter 30th anniversary, or Moonlighter (not on sale). I’ve got $16 in gold coins to burn. Thanks in advance for any input.

I haven't finished it, but Battle Chasers has been very fun. If you're into comic books and old school RPGs it's a no-brainer.

Both series revivals are critically acclaimed.

I played Doom and Wolfenstein 1&2 on Xbox. Despite being 34 yrs old, this was my first Doom game. Tight, fast game play with a bare bones story with samey enemies, dungeons, and battle scenarios. I fatigued of it halfway through, but finished it. Happy to play it, but I doubt I'll pick up Eternal.

The last two Wolfenstein games are the pinnacle of current gen gaming. Very engaging stories and characters atypical of an FPS. Tight gameplay, great graphics, lots of variety in weapons and scenarios. I cannot recommend highly enough.
 
Wife is looking for story driven game after beating BOTW, Lego Undercover, and currently working through Let's Go at a fast pace. I think I'm going to grab
Okami HD, Steamworld Dig2, and Bastion for her.

Currently flip flopping on whether to get Shovel Knight on Switch or Xbox. Thoughts?

Yes, the help was greatly appreciated form everyone. Picked up a 200GB card from Amazon. Now to figure out what to spend my $10 of credit on. Leaning towards Steamworld Dig 2 but indies are so hit or miss for me

Ugh, too many digital games on sale - I really only want to get a few because I won't be able to play them all and know some may fall in price later.

Other than Undertale, are there any games on Switch eShop that I should definitely get right now knowing my backlog is big and I could otherwise wait for it to be on sale at a later time?
