Last night I played Animal Crossing for 3 hours, what a great game for right now. It’s great to escape to the island and not think about the virus and politics right now. I found a copy at Walmart for $50, love that they do the $10 off in stores at launch since GCU is gone.

I tried playing it and my island got infected and I lost my job.
 
Was able to buy a 500 yen card off eBay and get everything but Guilty Gear (already grabbed it when it was $1 in Mexico) and Double Dragon 4.
Was a relatively painless process, hope they do more of these.

I would be willing to bet that's one of the reasons that the game launched so big. With all that is going on right now, Animal Crossing is refreshing.

I thought mini direct was pretty great. If anyone gets Panzer Dragoon I'd love to know if it's worth 25 bucks. I have a lot of nostalgia for the game but I remember it being a typically short rail shooter and didn't see much in terms of expansion.

Perhaps if it does well, it will pave the way for Panzer Dragoon Saga. Wishful thinking, I know.

 
I can't imagine it'll do worse than Crimson Dragon. I hope they put a decent amount of effort into it though, since I can already play the original on Xbone via Panzer Dragoon Orta.

It is a pretty short rail shooter. One of the best made, but it is what it is and this updated port won't change that. I'll not be buying it at launch but it's possible a sale in the future will have me grab a copy just out of nostalgia. Thankfully Forever Entertainment publishes the game and they are pretty good about putting games on sale.

It benefited from having stylus controls. And I don't remember any real faults. 42 games with explanations of their rules. Missions/achievements. Multiplayer. The controls were tight, AI difficulty could be adjusted, and each game could be visually customized. They packed a lot into 1 tiny cartridge!

BL2 on Vita says "hi". It doesn't run so great though (playable, but not great), so it will be nice to get a well-performing portable version.

Bioshock was portable for a while on iOS, but firmware updates killed it off. Probably didn't play well on a phone anyway, especially the controls.

It's priced that high because original copies of the OG Xbox edition was selling for twice that used. I considered selling my copy, but I probably missed my chance now. I'll keep it right next to my GC copy of DDR Mario Mix in my, "held too long" collection

I know that I'm only 1 person, and my actions change nothing. But these games will go right alongside the Capcom games and any other games that sell you a physical product then tell you that you only get a very small part of it, and have to download the rest because they were too cheap to do it right, and I won't buy them.

Agreed, and what Square did with Final Fantasy X and X-2 in the US was a terrible move.
 
That's the risk of using cards for games since the bigger sized cards are pretty expensive and the max so far is 32GB, which isn't big enough for some of the big games people want ported to the Switch.

At least Capcom puts a full game on a cart for their multipack games. What 2K is doing...just what? Is the Bioshock Collection considered one whole game and not three separate ones? They used a 16GB for Bioshock Collection (I'd think it can fit the first game at least on a cart), but only a 8GB for Borderlands GotY? (That's assuming the Borderlands Legendary is considered two games, Borderlands GotY and The Handsome Collection)

Which come to think of it, how is their 64GB card progressing? It's been a couple years since we last heard of it.

The reality is that a 64GB card is really not cost effective, and while many games sell very well on the NS, some more expensive games may not. Making a game like the Witcher 3 on a system like this was a HUGE gamble, but it was done well and the gamble paid off. Porting these higher end games down to a sizable limit, when they have none on PS4/ONE is very expensive. As your not moving a lesser game like Panzer Dragoon up to a beefier system, but down to a less capable one, and then hope it is good enough that people are OK with a lesser game.

At the end of the day, this all falls on "N", as they make system they are happy to work on, but the developing community normally doesn't care to. The NS's saving grace is that it is built around a strong mobile chipset, and in recent years more higher end games have been coming to mobile, so that helped the NS. As more and more people care less about physical, it means less chances that higher cards are produced, as it's less likely they sell well enough to off set the cost.

So in the end, the same 50GB game that fits cheaply on a Blu-Ray disc, now has to pay for a more expensive cart, for a game that probably cost more to make than it's full console counterparts(as the game now needs to be shrunk). Who would do that? The answer, only Witcher 3 at this point, and that was for a 32GB card. So unless "N" starts producing tons of games on 32/64GB cards themselves(NEVER happening), that sell well and help bring down cost, don't look for a 64GB card in this gen, or even to many more 32GB ones, as it's just to expensive for most.

 
I was going to grab Donut County on PS4, but now I see it's also on sale on the Switch, so I might grab it there instead.  Is there any appreciable difference between the two?

Please excuse my ignorance but I really don’t get what the issue is here. Is it a “principle” thing (as in I shouldn’t have to buy an SD card to get the full game!!) or does this affect the quality of the game in anyway?

It's putting the downsides of both physical and digital ownership together in one product.

Capcom's practice in particular is lame because it's a publisher's attempt to kill the value on the secondary market for a physical game.

I don't know about the rest, but for me the issue is about longevity. Imagine that Gameboy Advance games were released the same way; by now some of the servers might have been decommissioned and you will loose the ability to download specific game if needed. Having full games at your possession means endurance in time and ownership.

Principle only. While it's not as egregious as selling a physical game for a download code only, they're actually managing to be scummier than capcom. Whereas Capcom may only give you one game on cart and force you to download the others, but in this case, only one of the three only have 1 full game on cart. The others only give you a portion. That's deceptive and misleading. If you aren't going to actually take the time and effort to put the games on the cartridges that you are selling people, then just make it digital only.
 
Is it weird that Clubhouse Games maybe the one I'm most excited for in that direct? Looks like a lot of fun. I will finally play Xenogears though (never played that 3DS version much that I got when the New Nintendo 3DS just came out haha).

 
I didnt see this mentioned previously, but xenoblade chronicles definitive edition is now available for preorder and is voucher eligible if you have any left you need to use.

There is a guy on twitter named captain Alex who makes custom shells and designs. It’s probably more expensive than the stickers, but his quality is pretty good. Might be worth checking out if you’re desperate for a redesign.
