it finally worked to download breath of the wild, I also am eyeing the DK game but i am not sure
I had a (barrel) blast playing the Wii U version. Very fun game that gets challenging in later levels, just like the SNES games. I'd recommend it for $40. Wii U version retained its value and was one of the most expensive first-party titles for a long time, so a lower price is unlikely.

i seen ring fit adventure at the store dirt cheap for 40% off 79.99...and i passed on it around feb lol shame on me

A couple of Nintendo game codes are on sale for $40 at Gamestop:

-Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
-Kirby Star Allies
-Octopath Traveler
-Splatoon 2
-Zelda: Breath of the Wild

and for some reason, NBA 2K20 is discounted too.
Nice, I was able to redeem my $10 Animal Crossing promo on Donkey Kong.

Any feedback or opinions on the following games?

Valthirian Arc: Hero School Story
The Swords of Ditto: Mormo's Curse
Earthlock
Mercenaries Wings: The False Phoenix
Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap

Earthlock is a solid turn-based RPG with a very modern polygonal look.

Swords of Ditto is an overhead Zelda-like that's fun and really well-crafted - got some nice improvements a few months back.

Mercenaries Wings is the fourth entry in the Mercenaries SRPG saga and I'd recommend getting the trilogy first because you get a lot more for the money there.

Wonder Boy is a 1:1 remake of the SMS game and like with the Halo/Fable Anniversary games, you can go between old and new graphics with a button press. As a result, it very much feels like a clunky 8-bit platformer with a new coat of paint. It's great at what it wants to do, but has some rough edges just due to time passing it by when it comes to the feel of the action.

I’d never played Wonder Boy prior to grabbing the remaster—I have very little experience with pre-4th generation platformers in general—and I’ve found it to be a mostly positive experience so far. It doesn’t generally feel that dated to me, though there are certainly some balance issues and it doesn’t give you much in the way of hints about where to go. The sense of challenge is a bit odd for an action platformer—for the most part it’s hardest at the beginning (after you’ve fallen victim to the eponymous trap, anyway), and gradually gets easier as you collect more equipment and hearts. When you’ve collected everything, most of the challenge is trivialized, since you’re taking so little damage from enemies and dealing so much damage even in your weakest forms.

Level design may seem a bit haphazard, but it’s one of those games that’s meant to be crisscrossed, and getting around is fairly easy once you collected enough stuff and forms.

There is an optional platforming challenge towards the end that is maddeningly difficult—it won’t kill you if you have good equipment, but actually making it to the end of the section is extremely difficult, at least on the PS4 d-pad I was using.

If you don’t mind a little oldschool level design and some very oldschool challenge right in the beginning, I’d say it’s a fun time. I certainly enjoyed it way more than a more recent transformation-focused action platformer (Shantae HGH), anyway.

For the record, I haven’t finished the last dungeon yet.

I bought Wonder Boy The Dragon's Trap at launch since it was the days of Amazon Prime discount on the physical version.  I played through maybe 75% of it and found it more frustrating than fun.  It's a big part of the inspiration behind the Shantae series.  So if you want the roots of Shantae, it's well worth playing.  I just got kind of tired of it in the later part since I'd forget between plays where I was supposed to be going and end up traversing the whole world looking for that spot I previously couldn't get past.  YMMV.

Just finished the last dungeon, pretty fun. Supposedly there’s another optional area to do now, though I’m gonna wait a bit on that.

So far from the spring sale I picked up

Songbird Symphony $2.99

Swords and Soliders $.99

High Noon Revolver $.29

I heard this morning on reddit/switch that the developer of High Noon Revolver is donating all proceeds of sales to help families in need. He said sales are going well and better than expected so if you can spare $.29 or 29 coins please pick it up. I bought the game before I heard about the donations this morning. It has some positive reviews on steam and was on my wishlist since launch.

Thinking about Invisigun Reloaded. How is the single player campaign?
I'm not going to be playing it multiplayer and it looks really multiplayer focused.

I'm somewhat just OK on Xenon. It's decent, but I don't think you unlock things quickly enough. It also doesn't feel as much different between runs for being a rogue lite. Also the graphics make things hard to see sometimes, like health pickups. It's still OK. I played the Vita version.

How about the Sega Ages stuff?

I'm reluctant to get any because I keep hoping to see a collection  of them, but I had a lot of them on 3DS and they're very well done.

If I double dipped, which ones might be "essential"?

Phantasy Star and Virtua Racing are really the highlights for me, but I'm probably going back for Outrun and Space Harrier.

I'm considering Sega Genesis Classics at $11.99 as well as Fast RMX at $13.99.   Wish they were $9.99 each or even $7.99 each.

Also considering:

Golf Story $7.49

Toki Tori 2 $1.49

Bastion $2.99

Grabbed the Genesis Collection for $12 - already have it physically, but I can easily make my money back on that since it was on sale with GCU and now I can have it anywhere i go without needing the cart. It isn't perfect, and there's a bit more input lag than I would like - but at that price, it's too great a value to have all of those games portably.

I’ll second Virtua Racing and Phantasy Star, but Outrun is the absolute highlight for me. So great to have all the additions from the amazing 3DS version, playable on a big screen. Heck, all three of those games are pretty much the definitive releases of some bona dude classics. I wish they’d do a compilation as well, but man, if M2 ain’t out there doing God’s work, going SO above and beyond with these releases. I’m happy to support them however they choose to get this stuff out there.

It’s exactly what it says on the tin: a pretty bare-bones collection of some admittedly great games. But the lack of certain options has me really frustrated with it, button mapping in particular. I have 8bitdo’s amazing M30 pad, and there’s no way to change the button layout to match an actual Genesis controller. I think it’s worth the money, but when I need a quick Genesis fix, I find myself ignoring it and just switching the TV input to my Raspberry Pi instead.

If you love Outrun you should really pick up Horizon Chase Turbo. It's phenomenal update to the Outrun/Top gear experience.

I agree...played the demo for awhile (PS4) and really enjoyed it (a great tribute to outrun)...was $9.99 on the Switch in January, but at this point I want it for $4.99 or hope that a Part 2 is announced/released.

Not a deal, but it looks like we have confirmation from the devs that Disco Elysium is being ported to Switch:

https://nintendoeverything.com/acclaimed-rpg-disco-elysium-coming-to-switch/

When asked when Disco Elysium is coming to Switch, art director Aleksander Rostov mentioned that “this interview is, at this very moment, interrupting me from writing up design documentation for the user interface and input systems for the Switch port”. Lead narrative writer Helen Hindpere added: “I think… yeah, it’s gonna happen soon.”

Anyone know of anyone making cool custom outfits in Animal Crossing?
I don't know of anyone making any specific, custom outfits, but there's a YouTube video with 500+ outfits that you can pause and get QR codes from here if that's helpful at all: https://youtu.be/C7Q-cLDRMCA

The top comment is by the video creator, which has time stamps for what all is in the video for easy searching.

Adding my votes for these two games as well.

Phantasy Star is pretty much the highlight for me, because of one thing: An automap feature, which the original game never had, and it's done similar to how maybe Wonderful 101 Remaster did or Megaman Zero/ZX Collection did handling two screens side by side. Even though the game has autosave as well, manually save often, because the game, for some reason, will autosave after you die!

Outrun as well. Because Outrun. It's amazing to play this version on widescreen.

Yep, I only ever played through the original on my Master system for no other reason than having to map everything myself, and I had no idea were I put them, so a replay was never likely. Which always sucked, as the game was amazing, and I always wanted to revisit the world a second time.

When it was first shown they added the auto-map feature, they had one guaranteed buyer no matter what, as that was all I ever needed or wanted to be added to this game. Sadly, I still don't have an NS, but the SA version is at the top of my digital games list once I do, and I would have bought it already if "N" allowed for purchases separate from the system in question.

All you need to do is go into your kids room, power up the switch, add yourself a user on there and link your nintendo id. Then you can buy through the webstore as your account will have a primary switch associated. Then delete your profile from your kids system. You'll still be associated with that system and should still be able to buy games on the webstore.

Yeah, I have an account on his system, but for some reason I can't access the e-shop with that particular account, which is weird, as his account is set up under mine as the adult. I have spent time in the past solving these types of issues, but it really just pisses me off when it's all said and done, as it's more work than it's worth to do basic things I can do elsewhere easier.

Then whenever I get my system, then I have to work out how to get the game on my system, then dealing with who's system is main, and who's isn't, as he has online, and I never plan to get that service. So thanks for the tip, but I'll just wait until I have my own specific system, and can add games without worrying about having multiple systems under one account, as that doesn't seem like a great option either really. Especially with all the hoops you need to jump through for things I could do probably 10 years ago on other systems(Apple, Android, PSN, LIVE, etc).

It's all good, as I wouldn't really be able to play any games until I got my own system anyways. I've been over "N" and how they do things for ages(threw all my kool-aid out during the Wii years), so I'll get digital games and probably for a cheaper cost when the time finally comes. But I'm not going to put forth extra effort on my part, when their system is just out of touch with the world. I'll just spend my funds places that don't make my job hard as a consumer.

I recently bought Riddled Corpses EX. I am officially dropping this one. The repetition and extreme grind already felt apparent after playing about an hour and a half. The 2 stick approach for playing isn't too  comfortable either portably. Gold drops in not huge amounts so leveling up and unlocking other characters takes forever. The difficulty also is somewhat difficult, and seems more made for co-op. The graphics are relatively decent. Also very bullet sponge bosses and some enemies. I cannot recommend it at all. It's not a terrible game, but it's not very good either. Likely a 5.5/10 for me. If the grind was cut in half it may be like a 6 or something.

Interesting feedback on Riddled Corpses Ex. I bought it too when it was on sale because I had put probably a few hours into the demo (you can keep playing it, just reload the save and continue). I didn't mind the grind. I still need to play the full version of the game.

This week I've been putting time in with Into The Breach. On one hand, I love the turn base strategy. It works VERY well. On the other hand I don't like that it's just a few islands and every time you get a few territories in, the rest are taken over by the enemy and you finish the island by defending your base. I understand it's a rogue-like tbs game, but there's a huge lack of variety and then missing the satisfaction of a 1005 clearing an area. Maybe I'm missing something, and it's possible to clear each area... I've just been playing it as is.

Yeah, I have an account on his system, but for some reason I can't access the e-shop with that particular account.
I think you just need to link your user account on the switch with your Nintendo Account. Touch your profile icon, scroll down in User settings to sign in to it.

For the most part it works exactly the same as PSN does with multiple PS4's. The only difference is needing your Nintendo Account associated with a console before making purchases. So, yeah, Nintendo was pretty backwards with the account stuff for DSi and the early days of 3DS, but it's all fixed and game purchases are part of your ID and, again, they work the same as the PS4.

I love this game. The variety comes from unlocking new mech teams and learning how to use them. You can also unlock new pilots that have new special abilities. There is quiet a bit to unlock that changes game play.

In regards to not being able to save every region on the island, I think it is a story choice that they decided on. You are fighting an uphill battle and you can't save everyone. Just like in some battles. Are you saving a pilot or a building or a special target? Some tough decisions have to made occasionally.

FYI, the sega ages games cost a lot less in Mexico. $3~ or less for most of them. Phantasy Star is $5.99 here as $2.87 in Mexico.

The Sega Genesis collection is $9.50~.

I think I messed up and Nintendo’s setup had me stuck. So we had breath of the wild on cart, played it, enjoyed it and traded it in. I and my daughter had game saves and we decide we want to buy it again, get it from the GameStop sale and digital so we can enjoy it forever more. I bought it with my profile since I’m the only main shop and if we download her old saves from the cloud it won’t let her play it. Because she doesn’t own it I guess? I thought you could play digital games just not at the same time. I didn’t realize there was a limitation to who actually got it on a family account.

Weird. I would think your saves should still work...can she play it on her own account at all? Or is the issue she cant access her saves and has to start from scratch?

If she cant play it all, is this your only switch or do you have multiple? It's my understanding that only the switch that's been designated as the primary system can allow other accounts on the system to play games purchased on it.

Damn, after seeing VC4 season pass on sale for $10 on PSN recently I was hoping for atleast $15 on Switch next Sega sale but nope no discount at all. I might catch up on some Sega Ages releases though.

Well, I'm no expert on "N" online service(Thank God), but the way I understand it, all carts have a unique ID attached. And now that the original cart isn't the one being used, I would guess this is were the problem may lie. They normally have a work around for shit like this, but you have to call, and have someone manually redo whatever is causing the issue.

While these measures are against piracy(completely understandable), you ultimately make things harder for paying customers, and piracy sees it as a challenge to be overcome(which they always do with ease). So it does very little against the intended target, and only serves to make it so much harder for actual fans, kids and the average consumer.
