Thanks for the heads-up.

Checked the whole Arg eShop and Huntdown is there as well for 4 dollars! Got it and received 100 gold coins. Best purchase ever.
Nice. I looked into the Argentina stuff before and had little confidence in being able to figure it out. Would gladly buy a code off of someone. Give you a couple bucks for your trouble.

Edit: All set now

Nice find!! Thanks for the heads up. Grabbed Huntdown for a total of $4.20!! Lol. Already had Dandara. I recently got it for $6 on sale from the American eShop.

Free is always a good price but this game was panned in early access, did it ever improve? Anyone here play it?
It wasn't available to play on my new phone, so I just resigned myself to waiting for the Switch version that misses its Fall 2019 release and had no word on if it was still coming. Might have to stream this on Saturday.

Highly disappointing compared to something like Skyrim (which is to be expected), the best analogy I can provide is Fallout Shelter vs Fallout 4 in terms of design. It's clearly a mobile game, it's limited in exploration and has a lot that's timing based for what you can do (typical mobile game structure). That was my impression on iOS early access. It just wasn't a good game and it was fundamentally disappointing since the iPhone and the Switch can do so much more.

Edit - I mean, just look at that ridiculously stupid trailer ... does that appeal to any actual Elder Scrolls fan ... with hideous pop music and a bunch of screens showing transactions, they no exactly who their target audience is and it's not people who are long time fans of the existing franchise. But I'm sure the whales are keeping it lucrative ...
Thanks, so it didn't get the salvage job that Fallout 76 at least got. Well, maybe I'll try it some day...

Eh, I'll try the Elder Scrolls game. You can't really beat free, and I've probably played paid games that were worse. I just hope that because it's on a Nintendo console, that it isn't quite as bogged down by microtransactions as the phone version.

I hate to ask, but would anyone be willing to pick up Clubhouse games from Brazil for me? (please pm me with the final cost)
Going digital seems like a good idea for that one.

Got one. Thanks Bill! :)

I used to be addicted to Rygar as a kid...wow the memories.
Me and a friend pulled our funds to buy it, and finished it that same day, damn I miss those no worry in life days, as I would never have the time to do something like that now. LOL I guess I should go back and give it another go(my originally play-thru was rather fast), since I can now save anytime, by the wonders of emulation.

Oh man, Wild Guns is awesome. That is a really great addition.
Easily one of my top 10 SNES games, as I actually discovered it when it was originally offered, and was always a top choice for the hidden gems/best games no one has played list. I miss great games like this that took risk, and while nothing new, was done just about the best of any game in the genre. I was glad to see it finally get some love when it was offered to the newer systems, as it's one of the best 16-bit era games for sure.

The Lego Ninjago Movie game is free for every console and pc, except for Switch.

They did the same as Pacman Championship 2, free for everybody but Switch.

I honestly do not understand why is that. You might think is Nintendo's doing, but every publisher has the power to manipulate the eShop pricing of their products, so idk.

Guys, Revenge of the Bird King is 0.01. It is an indie sorta NES platformer game, hard and frustrating (old school style).

If you pay with money (not gold coins), you should get 1 gold coin in return, so it is a free game for you to try if you are into this type of game.

I gave it a shot some time ago, and once I got the hang of it I was able to get through some stages, but gave up after a while due to its unforgiveness.

Yeah the 1 hit kills are bull and it starts you from the beginning of the level every time. I think I gave up on it too. It's OK but brutally unforgiving.

I just noticed Cosmic Star Heroine went on sale today for $1.49. This is great because I was just thinking of buying it the other day and added it to my wishlist, but I wanted to wait a few days just in case it went on sale.

Apparently they just can't make them free like the other storefronts. Although I don't understand why they don't just make them a penny.

Just picked it up and came here to report. Hope it's worthwhile - seems to get good reviews, hard to imagine it's not worth the $1.49. OTOH, my backlog...

The story/characters are all pretty forgettable but the battle system is incredibly fun, albeit highly unbalanced and very easy to break. Honestly for anyone looking for a fun and fairly unique turn based RPG battle system I'd recommend it at full price, $1.49 is a steal.

Also not really a burden on the backlog tbh. Main story is only like 10 hours long, around 15ish if you want to do all the side content.

Finally grabbed What Remains of Edith Finch since I've heard it's one of the best walking simulators out there - if not the very best. Usually not a fan of just walking around in games but I've been in the mood for a good story since finishing J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories.

Saturday Morning RPG is a steal at 99cents. It's a really fun Mario RPG knockoff that references & spoofs 80s/90s cartoons and video games. I enjoyed it a lot on vita.

Finally grabbed What Remains of Edith Finch since I've heard it's one of the best walking simulators out there - if not the very best. Usually not a fan of just walking around in games but I've been in the mood for a good story since finishing J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories.
Keep a box of Kleenex handy ...

Public service announcement for Shmups fans. On the Japanese eshop there is an app called "smile basic" which has games in it. Presumably written in smile basic.  It has a free demo and you can unlock the full application following these steps:

1. Login to the eshop with your Japanese account search for "smile basic"

2. You want the one that is listed as 2500 yen.

3. Click on the button above the heart to download the free demo.

4. Launch the application and press the Y button from the top menu

5.  From the Play menu press the R button 3 times.

6. Enter the following code: 444S5EEF3

That's all there is to it. Now you can play an amazing  shooter called "Star Soldier" and presumably write basic code. I only got it for the shooter.

A friend on my twitter feed mentioned this. He said it is better than many of the Shmups you pay money for on the eshop and I tend to agree.

I already had a Japanese account mainly so I could download the  Japanese versions of the NES/SNES games from Nintendo Online.

Nice tip. I would totally go for it, but last time I loaded my Jap profile in the Switch, it clogged the News with unintelligible japanese stuff (and my OCD always wants the News all read).

If somebody knows a way of disabling the News feed for a specific region, I am all eyes!

Who reads that stuff. It's just marketing.

I poked around the Japanese eShop to see what its American counterpart is missing, and there's a generous demo for Blazblue Central Fiction. It's in English, includes 4 characters, and story mode is playable to an unknown point. I dunno - I haven't played it yet. But this is like half of a game for free when you consider that Street Fighter II only had 8 characters.

If you bought Blazblue Cross Tag when it was on sale for $5, there are also 2 free DLC characters. I only just noticed myself and I'm sure they've been there forever.

This, I hate having “news” from a ton of regions. Same article... multiple times. Needs to be an option to only show news from the accounts you select.

Never read the news myself. Hopefully Nintendo can patch the Switch to only show news for the console's home country setting or have it as a selection like you mentioned.

I don't read them either, but that damn green dot over the News icon stating I have stuff there kills me, and I need to get it and mark them all off. I know; I am an idiot, but I cannot fight over that stupid OCD.

Thanks for passing this along, as I’ve been interested in SmileBasic4 for a while, but I’m not actually sure what this procedure unlocks. After following these instructions, neither the US or JPN stores indicate that I’ve purchased the full game. I know that SmileBasic 4 requires the purchase of what they call a “ticket” to be able to download and play games by other creators... is it possible that what you’ve shared is a single ticket to enable the download of this single shmup, as opposed to unlocking the full version of SmileBasic itself?

EDIT: okay, did some research, and FYI to everyone, this code does NOT unlock the full version of SmileBASIC 4. It’s an identification code for a single game called “Solid Soldier Collection,” a Star Soldier clone. And apparently, one of the limitations of the demo version of SmileBASIC 4 is that you cannot “save a program,” though I’m unsure if that means that you can’t store user-made games that you’ve downloaded locally (i.e. you can only play them while they’re loaded into system memory; presumably when you quit the app, the downloaded game is gone) or if it simply means you can’t save your PROGRESS in said game.

Appreciate your enthusiasm, OP, and grateful to know that a demo of SmileBASIC exists. Just want to make sure people don’t get the wrong idea.

I was not sure what it unlocked either. All I cared about was the Shmup Star Soldier.

Sorry I gave the wrong impression about the Basic part unlocking. Thanks for doing the additional research too :)

Don't sweat it! You're right about this particular shmup, too: spectacular clone of Compile's classic series. Star Soldier fans would do well to check it out. And it remained in the app even after I closed it down, so it must be saved to system memory, but I couldn't resume from the level I left off on, so either that's just not a feature of the game, or (more likely) you can't store save data in the demo. Still, awesome to get to try out SmileBASIC 4! Looks like you're allowed to download a new game every 8 hours (that's the limitation of not purchasing a "server ticket") so I'm excited to try some more down the line.

Thanks for your detailed instructions about how to find it in the JPN eShop, too! For anyone else who already made a JPN account for the Nintendo Online FC and SFC apps, SmileBASIC 4 is a cool thing to check out.

EDIT: if you're not sure what the heck we're talking about, Retronauts did a great write up:

SmileBASIC 4 is on the American eshop as well. Didn't test the code for Star Soldier on it though, since I had already downloaded the JPN version.

Honestly, Elder Scrolls Blades is not as bad as some people are saying. I definitely wasn't expecting a pretty detailed character creation system from a game where you play the entire thing in first person, but that was a pleasant surprise.

I've been playing it. It's similar to other freemium games, but more polished. I find the combat getting more challenging now that my character is around level 9.

NVM: soon as I posted I remembered - the complex!

There was a recently an Eshop game on sale that I forgot to add to my wish list, but I cannot remember the name. It was a “movie” game or a dialogue choice game. I think it was based in a laboratory and you had to make decisions to escape? Does anyone know what I am talking about?

Correct! And it’s published by Wales Interactive, which publishes most of the modern FMV games. They put their stuff on sale fairly frequently, so if you don’t mind waiting The Complex should go on sale at some point in the near future (just letting you know, since this is CAG).

For those on the fence in regards to Cosmic Star Heroine... I highly recommend the game if you're a fan of older JRPGs the game destroyed my nostalgia bone in a great way.

I pulled the trigger of Children of Morta today. Very happy that i did. Im waiting on finding Binding of Isaac for 30 or lower so I wanted to fill my rogue-lite (or rogue-like... I dunno the difference) niche and im enjoying everything about it thus far. I still have yet to play Dead Cells or Enter the Gungeon. One i do recommend is A Robot Named Fight if you're into Metroidvania style games.
