Hell, I'd be happy with the Wii version brought to the 3DS at this point. Sadly, Punch-Out is another title lost to the ages at "N", same with F-Zero and some other great past titles.
There really isn't much you can do on Punch-Out or F-Zero after the latest versions of the games. Both of those games were completely unbound by technology at the time (there was nothing they seemed to be limited by). For better or worse, Nintendo isn't fond of releasing new iterations that do not have some sort of new hook in them. Personally I'd love a new Star Fox that was nothing more than 64 with new levels, a Punch Out with new fighters (and of course the best old ones) or F-Zero with new tracks. Instead we get Star Fox dumbed down to shoehorn in motion control hot garbage and nothing for the other two.

I wasn't able to get alexa to recognize the case, but another workaround is to preorder agme and either cancel it later on or keep it if it's a game you were intending on getting anyway. I preordered days gone with my $.99 switch case.

Nintendo seems to put The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX on sale quite frequently. Why does NOA do that for other GB / GBC VC titles???

Whoa, that game looks super interesting. Probably will snag that at release. Thanks for sharing!

It’s also never been on sale on PSN so it won’t be like you’re paying a Switch tax.
Speaking of Switch tax, The World Ends With You: Final Remix pre-orders are showing as $60. Definitely looking forward to that game, but man I hope that isn't the actual price...

It really makes me wonder, how well did Star Fox 64 do in sales? Was it really so bad that Nintendo didn't feel that it was a good idea to create a sequel that more or less played similarly enough? For some reason after that they can't seem to hit the mark with the series.. like wtf.. how did we go from that to the shite we have now?

The N64 didn't have a ton of releases to begin with, but it did well in the US, and was second only to MK64 that year. Japan only sold about a 3rd of those numbers, so I would think that has a lot to do with it. I personally think after the first game, you could see where they tried to go with SF2, only to come up way short of anything worth paying full retail for. So enter SF64, with a few of the better ideas from 2, and with full voices and rumble thrown in(two first of it's kind for "N" I believe at the time).

Miyamoto always said he was inspired by things like the Thunderbirds of old UK TV show, and I always thought a game with CG or in game graphics with puppet style characters would have been amazing. Sadly, even to this day, "N" has the worst story telling anywhere in video games, and they also lack a department to make proper in game animations(CG or otherwise).

I completely agree that the only two games worth a damn, was SF & SF64. I did enjoy SF command on the DS, and was the only game besides the first two I actually finished. It wasn't as good as the first two games, but it offered new ideas that worked well, and I found entertaining. Even though not a true SF game, I thought it was a great "side" game to the series. I would love to see Platinum or someone else who understands SF to take over, but "N" sadly has no clue at this point.

2pm PT today: Nintendo announcement. "New way to play" (Japanese translation). "New interactive experience" (EU/US posting)

You guys are thinking too big for Nintendo.  This big announcement IS:

(drum roll)

A new kickstand for the on-the-go mode.

(because Nintendo is, admittedly, bad at making announcements)

/speculation

They picked the perfect release date for that(4/20), as I would have to be high as  fuck to buy that shit! LOL

No, seriously, that was rather interesting to say the least. If nothing else, "N" comes up with stuff I would never think of in a million years. My son is going to love this.

Very interested. Made me feel like I want to be a kid who can afford the time (and has the money) to do this. Idk about this being commercially successful, but then again idk what the "maker" kids are into these days.

That's...original. Never would have guessed that, but it seems interesting enough for me to applaud them for doing something beyond the realm of normal game developers.

DIY kits of cardboard items you can make to fit the Switch tablet and Joycons into to create a variety of controllers for specially-made games. It's out 4/20 for $70 or $80 depending on which kit you want:

$70 Variety Kit: https://labo.nintendo.com/kits/variety-kit/

$80 Robot Kit: https://labo.nintendo.com/kits/robot-kit/
That was unexpected. As a father of two boys who have done a lot of Mindstorms and also subscription box kits I can confidently say that's a lot of questionably constructed cardboard to work with the joycons. I also wonder what happens to the kit when you inevitably destroy the constructed part.

If nothing else, this is going to keep the NS hype train rolling well in to 2018. This Labo shit has to be all over the web by now, and there is for sure no bad publicity, and I'm sure this will be the perfect example of that statement. LOL

That price though is legit bonkers for really just a bunch of cardboard.
I was thinking the same thing...but it comes with software. So really, $10 - $30 depending on what the software would retail for on its own.

Anyways, looks like they revived Project Giant Robot? Interesting stuff.

I'd go further and say it even lines up nicely with the DIY and coding toy market that was hot over Xmas. Even though it's likely a bit of a fad it's still big enough to give Nintendo some increased exposure for doing an interesting take on that toy market. I'd even be interested in getting one once I know that buying the cardboard parts will be extremely cheap to replace.

Project Giant Robot is what interests me the most. That was too small of a clip, though. Hopefully GameXplain does a 2 hour analysis.

I'm curious how much of a game there is with these. The skeptic in me basically says tech demo'ish on par with all the Wii party games, but regardless I find this idea to be interesting and so very Nintendo. It does get me excited if this somehow does take off.

They said before hand this was for "kids" and those who are kids at heart. I don't think they plan to sell millions of these, but as I stated, my son is going to love this. After using it, he may not, but I can see him begging for this the next 3 months easy. LOL

Very innovative, mad props to Nintendo, this is fucking cool!!! Pricing is wrong, but man the potential of this thing... Sick!

Cardboard? Who’d want to use cardboard accessories?

Yea but, like I game/hobby. And I deliberately use cardboard (a LOT) when I don't want to buy stuff. Here they are charging me $60 when I could build the same cardboard from a template for $2 at Michaels (with a coupon).

Tweets won't show for me on CAG, but I believe FriskyTanuki was linking to a tweet that points to a note from IGN:

"the kits will not be mandatory – although the cartridge is needed – since Nintendo plans to offer the cardboard design pattern for free for aspiring builders”.

OH NO!

Not this time, Nintendo. I am embarrassed to admit that I've spent an awful lot of money over the years on a lot of stupid shit just because Nintendo slapped their branding on it and feel great shame every time I endorse some of their shenanigans with my wallet at the same time complaining about them.

But Nintendo branded cardboard is where I draw the line.

There is no way I'm buying this.

Well, that might be because you're an adult. And this is a child's toy.

It's a super creative way to get kids engaged and build stuff while still using a screen. It's cardboard sure, but it's a legitimately genius use of cardboard.

Yeah, just as I said earlier, my sons loving this. He hasn't stopped talking about it since he got home from school and I showed it to him. He's amazed by the whole concept, and can't wait to try it out.

I think there is some cool ideas here, but yeah, it's mainly for children, so I don't see all the issues personally. It's great for it's intended audience, and I'm sure some grown ass man babies will have their fun as well. LOL
