What are the NeoGeo NS prices like? I've played Turf Masters in the past, and it's one of the systems better titles if your in to golf. It's not Hot Shots/Mario Golf crazy, just a solid golf title. I would recommend it if the price is right.

The first session of the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire was a big failure since I couldn't get on for the 30 minutes I tried. Their servers were so overloaded that the Switch's eShop was also down.

Same here. I started a couple min late (10:04pm cst) but had no issues. I played till a few min after 11cst when they kicked everyone out. For those that haven't played it's one map, 4v4 where you can only pick your weapon before getting dumped to a waiting screen where the players build up till either the timer runs out (never happened to me) or the roster is full. I never played any of the original game but while you wait for the cue to fill you can manipulate the bg music by pressing the various buttons and sticks on the controller.

As for the experience. It had some fun moments but I found the tilt aiming to be more frustrating than fun. Also there's nothing to really reference for the main controls. I ended up looking through the settings a little right as the end of the session and it looks like aim can be set to the R stick but I didn't figure it out in time. I'll try again tomorrow.

One odd thing about the online. Not sure if this was true before but it uses your system user account nickname rather than the new Nintendo name things we had to setup to use the switch with our existing accounts. So I was Richard if you saw me on there.

The first session of the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire was a big failure since I couldn't get on for the 30 minutes I tried. Their servers were so overloaded that the Switch's eShop was also down.

I'm having this same experience right now. Anyone able to get on?

Still couldn't online this morning. Looked the issue up and it turn out that it is widespread.

Just turn off the console by holding the power button down and selecting turn off. Turned it back on and I can connect to the network again.

Same here. I started a couple min late (10:04pm cst) but had no issues. I played till a few min after 11cst when they kicked everyone out. For those that haven't played it's one map, 4v4 where you can only pick your weapon before getting dumped to a waiting screen where the players build up till either the timer runs out (never happened to me) or the roster is full. I never played any of the original game but while you wait for the cue to fill you can manipulate the bg music by pressing the various buttons and sticks on the controller.

As for the experience. It had some fun moments but I found the tilt aiming to be more frustrating than fun. Also there's nothing to really reference for the main controls. I ended up looking through the settings a little right as the end of the session and it looks like aim can be set to the R stick but I didn't figure it out in time. I'll try again tomorrow.

One odd thing about the online. Not sure if this was true before but it uses your system user account nickname rather than the new Nintendo name things we had to setup to use the switch with our existing accounts. So I was Richard if you saw me on there.

Aim controls are automatically set to R-stick, with motion controls then used for more "fine" aiming, like Zelda. You can turn this off if it's not for you, though.

They're great games. Dig is a Metroid-style digging game. Heist is basically a 2D XCOM with loot.

What are the NeoGeo NS prices like? I've played Turf Masters in the past, and it's one of the systems better titles if your in to golf. It's not Hot Shots/Mario Golf crazy, just a solid golf title. I would recommend it if the price is right.

Mario Golf has more to it, as Turf Masters was designed for Arcade usage, so it only has 4 courses I believe(and a handful of golfers to select from), so it's a more slimmed down game, but still very good. I like the exaggerated game play of Mario and Hot Shots, but it's also cool to play a straight up golf game ever once in awhile to.

I think $8 is decent, as you'll probably get that much out of it, maybe more. I don't like all golf games, but Turf Masters is one of my personal favorites.

I'd probably be better off waiting until A) those VC titles show up on a My Nintendo discount or B) Rhythm Heaven is featured in an eShop sale. Would probably save me money in the long run.

Yeah, just wait until 5/1, and if you haven't purchased anything by then you can buy some first party VC games you want the most (that rarely go on sale) to make up the difference. Also keep an eye on this thread for free/dirt cheap coins that pop up every once in a while.

I did that this weekend and yes, it is quite nice. Zelda had a slight graininess to it before the change that is now completely gone. That game is amazing. I put a solid 6 hours into it this weekend (which is really good for me) and watched my kids play the game for probably another 3 or so (which I never just sit and watch them play games).

I sunk a few hours into Brave Dungeon today. I don't play many dungeon crawlers so I can't compare it to other games. But you get your four other party members immediately when starting, all with different specialties (although none of them are particularly bad at melee combat).

Dungeons are preset and the maps are permanently filled as you traverse them, and enemy encountes are also stationary in preset locations. There are several floors to each dungeon, and the difficulty jumps noticeably each time you change floors. The stairs to the next floor can only be accessed by defeating the boss of the floor, which usually isn't too difficult.

Throughout the dungeons are material drops and treasure chests; materials regenerate every time you enter the dungeon. These materials can be used to either create accessories or other materials, or sold to fulfill townsfolk requests. Fulfilling a request earns you both Tres and Lunch Coins, which can be used to give a random permanent stat boost to a party member.

Tres is the currency of the game, earned in battle or requests. It's used to purchase magic items and permanently enhance your character's stats. Magic items are used to heal HP, status effects, revive characters, or other things. They can only be used as many times as you have purchased them, but each ability refills every time you start a dungeon.

Stat points do not increase by leveling up (with the exception of HP), but there does seem to be some unseen way that level affects your character because without increasing any of my stats, I eventually started one-shotting enemies I had trouble with before.
