Vita is best if you are a JRPG and rhythm game fan. There are good games in other genres for the Vita, but nowhere near enough to justify the cost if you hate JRPGs and rhythm games.

I'm just starting to get into rhythm games, and I've barely touched any RPG's on my Vita, but I still love it. It's got a good amount of action games and roguelikes, which I love.

Sony despises the Vita. If you're taking your opinion from them, you're gonna have a bad time.
the Vita would have been an easier sell for me if Sony did not charge positively ludicrous amounts of money for memory that costs peanuts in any other kind of non proprietary format.

That the Vita has no games...so little that Sony didn't even mention it at their E3 presser AT ALL.

I only buy eShop games. I'm done with discs and cartridges. Physical media is dead.
"Physical media is dead"
Good luck playing all your games when servers shut down and/or your licenses get revoked lol. Or even worse your account is erased or stolen

Ok, that's nice.

Good luck playing your games when/if you get robbed/fire/flood/angry ex/kids. At least all my info is saved somewhere to get the license' back and get playing again.

Can a i use eshop card be used to buy 3ds xl on Nintendo's website?
If you have added the funds to your eshop account you can use those on the web store.

I have yet to find a way to add funds to my account without using the actual eshop.

Doesn't mean you can't, I just haven't tried or found a way.

I don't think the Nintendo Store uses the same account system as the eShop.

Yes yes it does.

I buy stuff al the time through the web game store using my Eshop wallet money. If a game has a buy digital function you can log in to your My Nintendo account and use your Eshop funds.

Also GREAT NEWS! You can add funds to your eshop account using the Web game store, BAD NEWs, I think you can only do this if you are buying a game you don't have enough fund for.

I decided to finally test this and went to buy Fantasy Life 3ds, I was logged in to my nintendo account, it asks you to confirm and log in to your NNID too, and then it tells me I am short about $35 and can add funds either using a CC or Eshop card. So I am not sure you can just purely add funds. I think you need to have some thing you want to buy.

The key here is to have your My Nintendo and NNID all linked up.

It only took Nintendo forever to join the modern world and of course it is poorly explained.

I'm sorry, but I think I need to clarify this to be 100% sure.

You're saying the Nintendo Store: https://store.nintendo.com/

Uses the same account system as the eShop: http://www.nintendo.com/games

Just looking at it, it's not offering me the same range of login options as the eShop does and even says most people probably don't have a Nintendo Store account:

Already Registered indicates you have recently requested a repair or purchased a product directly from Nintendo. Most users have not previously Registered.

I think we are talking about different things.

First the post I originally replied to was asking if you could redeem eshop cards on the web. Which it turns out you can. Thats what I was talking about.

I didn't think they were asking if you could use eshop funds in Nintendos store where they sell physical stuff.

Lastly, I am, and have been, only talking about digital purchases via their digital store, which is in effect the eshop in a browser.

I think that is where we are crossing wires.

Nintendo has a store online where they sell physical stuff and refurbs, can't use eshop credit there, and might be where I misinterpreted that original question.

I was thinking the poster was asking about the Games store where you can add funds and it is linked to your eshop account.

Hopefully that is more clear than mud

Can you buy things that aren't digital games is the question? The original question was can a 3DS XL be bought from the online store with an e-shop card/credit. I don't see an issue with getting a digital game through either means, but can physical items be purchased as well?

I think we are talking about different things.

First the post I originally replied to was asking if you could redeem eshop cards on the web. Which it turns out you can. Thats what I was talking about.

I didn't think they were asking if you could use eshop funds in Nintendos store where they sell physical stuff.

Lastly, I am, and have been, only talking about digital purchases via their digital store, which is in effect the eshop in a browser.

I think that is where we are crossing wires.

No, he was asking about using eShop credit to buy a 3DS XL from the Nintendo Store. That's why I had to be very specific about what I was asking you when you were confirming that it was possible.

I don't recommend using a flash drive for the wii u. I was using a 32gb SanDisk flash drive and it crapped out on me. Then again, I may have simply had a bad flash drive so I'm not sure. All I know is that there were numerous times I had to disconnect and reconnect it to get it to work.

Most of my sandisk drives have died. Especially anything that has the usb connector slide into the case for travel. Not sure what happened but I have plenty of other drives without issues. I mainly use drives from Silicon Power now.

Nintendo doesn't recommend a flash drive though too. So it could be a combination of both.

Honestly the best is a self powered USB drive. I used a Y-connector and a spare Lap top HD in an enclosure for a while to okay results, but eventually moved to a self powered docking station.

Old laptop hard drive and Y connector has been working fine for me. I'm sure you can find cheap ones on Newegg or Amazon. I think mine is a 250 GB and I don't have any space issues.

I've been using a 128 GB thumb drive for a year or two now and it's worked perfectly fine so I don't have to have an external drive hanging off of it. Nintendo doesn't recommend them because they have a finite life and will likely die at some point, but they're perfectly fine to use as long as you don't expect them to last forever and replace them eventually.

I didn't see it asked, or referenced anywhere.  Does anyone know if chapters 2-4 for Moon Chronicles are also on sale, or is it just the first chapter?

The last time the main game was on sale the future chapters were too, though I have no idea if that is the case this time.

Super Mario RPG will be out tomorrow for Wii U, which should mean it's $2 for those that owned it on Wii and would get you some gold coins for the cheaper price.
Thanks for the heads up Frisky, what the hell took them so long to release this over here? Anyway, while I don't bother with these older "N" titles, as I have owned most over the years several times over, and have them all on several devices already.

My son has been bothering me lately about Mario RPG(we had no idea it was coming to the US), so he's super excited this is finally coming to a device he can play it on. I guess due to the processing chip in this title, a N3DS version ain't gonna happen uh? Oh well, he'll have to be happy with this one I guess.

Fantastic news!! Super Mario RPG was one of the main reasons I wanted to use the Virtual Console.

It was also the last Mario game I played that I didn't finish; I kept losing to, of all things, a cake.

To be fair, it's not a cakewalk.

I told my son he better bring his "A" game, as this isn't typical Mario fare. I'll buy it for him, but I said he'll probably need to grind, so I don't know if he knows what he's in for or not. I said it may look like a Mario & Luigi title, but it's really not.

Honestly, I can't remember if I ever finished it myself, as it was so long ago that I played this.

There's a new Japanese trailer (expect an English trailer soon) that shows off a bunch of new Pokemon, including several new Bug - types and Fairy-types.

I'm cautiously excited to see what we get on My Nintendo tomorrow. I'm a bit worried the only reason they have decent games currently on offer is for the launch of the program, and now it's going to nose dive. We'll see.

In some good news, they organized the "missions" section a bit better. Much easier to use.

actually unless you HAVE TO kill the optional boss you only have to grind very little. And if you spread out the grinding you only have to grind a little in every zone level whatever to be ready at the end

Sadly, "grinding" is a lost concept to him, as he would rather rush through a game to see whats next, but I told him that's not how RPG's work. I'll guess he'll fall in line, or he won't, but it's good to hear the grinding isn't out of control.

I saw that the Mario suit was due to expire, so I quickly double clicked through it to order one. ...Then I realized the popup said I had already purchased the suit before.

It didn't say that anywhere before I bought it, and it actually let me purchase another suit.

I still want to make it clear it's not THAT grindy, as long as he doesn't run from any battles he should be fine
