Speaking of which, nothing's been said one way or the other about amiibo support for Pokemon Sun and Moon, but the box arts shown do not have the amiibo logo. It uses a QR Scanner and the Z-Bracelet toy, but that's it.

Initial thoughts on Explody Bomb: I've spent more on worse.  It's basically a Flash game that has you controlling objects on two different screens.  I'm not very good at it, but I was tempted to improve my performance.  It's also got a decent sense of humor, though that really only comes through if you read the tutorial.

Sounds like it's worth at least a penny ;) Though, granted, I'd pretty much buy any eshop game for a penny.

I do wholeheartedly recommend Adventure Labyrinth Story. Really there are only two areas in which it disappoints. The story is very light, and is basically just a "where are they now" kind of thing to the first game with a small adventure of its own thrown in. And there's also very little charm or soul in the game or its characters. But the gameplay is one hundred percent solid.

Unfortunately I probably won't be playing it much right now, because Shiren the Wanderer on Vita just came out recently and I only have room for one roguelike in my life at a time. Especially since they control pretty differently and muscle memory has already screwed me up more than once.

In case you guys didn't see the Target Clearance thread, it's porbably worth checking at your local store. I just grabbed Xenoblade Chronicles X for $17.98, and Rodea The Sky Soldier for $5.98.

Bayonetta 2, Mighty No. 9 -  $8.98

Some reports of Hyrule Warriors - $17.98

Ryu and newer Splatoon inkling Amiibos - $3.98

A few other shovelware games, and stuff for the other consoles.

So why is it good when the Wii U one is bad?
The bonus disc is the Wii version I believe, and it was the "lead" console for this game. So the the Wii U and 3DS games are just rather poor ports of the Wii game. The producer of the game(or someone high up on the team), even said to only play the Wii game, as the other versions suck(or something to that effect).

I understand that but it doesn't really explain why it manages to be good even though the ports of it are bad.

Ahh, Rodea.  From what I've read, the game was built to use Wii motion controls.  They decided to port it to 3DS, but they had to rework the game to use traditional controls, delaying release.  Release was delayed so long that they decided to release it on Wii U instead of Wii, which meant they wanted to improve the dated Wii visuals.  So they then ported the 3DS version to Wii U instead of the superior Wii version.

I may be getting some details wrong, but I think that's the gist of it.

Anyways, I'd jump on Rodea at that price (I'd like to play the Wii version), but they dried up in my area.

I believe that is the basic gist, yes. The Wii version used motion controls and is apparently much better. The WiiU version is an upscaled 3DS version. I only played the WiiU version (for review), and it was awful. It does make me want to try the Wii one, but for whatever reason that isn't with the digital version.

Yeah, I'll probably just play the Wii version if I can stand the jaggies on my TV. Apparently the original Wii version was finished in 2011 but then the publisher decided to port it to Wii U and 3DS while also holding the finished game back, presumably so the "better" versions would sell better. This didn't seem to work since I just paid $6 for it new less than a year after it's western release.

Anyways, Yuji Naka apparently was done after his original game was developed, and had nothing to do with the Wii U and 3DS ports. Seems like a 2011-2012 Wii release would have probably sold better, since neither the Wii U or other consoles were out yet. I found some Japanese sales numbers and it sold less the 5000 total copies between the Wii U AND 3DS versions on it's launch week, so it really didn't pay off to burn all that extra money. Kadokawa is mostly a handheld publisher in Japan so I guess they were banking on that market.

So why is it good when the Wii U one is bad?
It basically comes down to meddling with the controls and mechanics. It's much easier to aim where you want to fly to in the Wii version since you just have to point with the wiimote, as opposed to fiddling with the thumbsticks or gyrosensor on the WiiU.

Also in the WiiU version DRASTICALLY limited the time you can spend in the air. The Wii version lets you fly almost indefinitely, allowing you to readjust yourself in midflight and stay midflight as long as you can continue to set new flight paths. The WiiU version only lets you stay airborn for a few seconds before needing to return to the ground, making platforming sections almost impossible. And it's a platformer, so that's pretty bad.

The WiiU version does add things like collectables, but it plays so much worse than the Wii version that it's not worth it.

So basically they didn't just port it but screwed it up in every way. Grabbed a $6 copy earlier so hopefully the Wii version is worth playing, it's probably worth $6 just as an oddity.

So if anyone else has been playing Phoenix Wright... Isn't it way fucked up how this backwoods third world country has apparently been executing innocent people constantly for 20 years without due process? Phoenix seems somewhat bewildered by it, but not as enraged as any reasonable person in his position would be.

It made sense in PLvPW, with the witch trial aspect, but I don't know if this time it's meant to be a commentary on some specific country or culture. Khurai'in seems like an otherwise normal, if overly theocratic, culture.

At this point I think Dhurke has the right idea.

To those who have played Code of Princess, how is the framerate on 3DS? The reviews on Steam say it's 60fps on modest PCs, which sounds great for what looks to be a brawler. The graphics look bad on PC as you would imagine, being meant for the 3DS screen and all. So I'm keen on getting it for 3DS if the framerate isn't bad.

I finished it a couple of days ago and it's become my favorite in the series. Hope you enjoy it half as much as I did - I was starting to lose faith in the series after Apollo Justice and then Investigations, but this one really picked it back up for me. Seems that most opinions I've seen on it range from "it's solid" to "it's the best in the series", at least.

Technically, he fails during one of the cases in this game, too. :p

Anyway, for the person asking about Code of Princess, the framerate is OK. It's not buttery smooth and there's some frameskips, but it's not unplayable.

He's probably not keen on starting another revolution considering how badly his last one failed.
I dunno, I'm only on the second case. It's just that, in PW tradition, the guy who's hyped up to be some big monster is actually a cool dude. That Ministry of Justice dude is obviously going to be the main villain. He has a cigar!

(by the way, how fuckin good were the animations for Peeslub'n? I really liked all of the models and animations in Dual Destinies and these are even better)

I thought AJ and AAI were alright, but Dual Destinies was great. Granted, it was suuuuuper easy, but I thought it was understandable considering it was clearly meant as a new jumping-on point. I just hope this game has less obvious (or outright spoiled) perps. As soon as Bunny Girl showed up, I was like "oh yeah, she's gonna be the one that did it." I remember the original trilogy, especially the 2nd and 3rd games, having some really good twists about stuff like that.

Replaying 1 recently (for the first time since it came out, so I forgot a lot of it), the conclusion of the Steel Samurai case was also pretty cool, and kinda reminded me of that one death in Danganronpa. If you've played both, you know what I mean.

For all you My Nintendo members it looks like there is a new Yokai Watch 2 theme available for 100 Silver coins.

It goes nicely with the new free SMT IV theme that's currently available on the theme shop.

Was just coming here to post about the Yo-Kai watch theme. Looks pretty great. Only 100 coins is nice.

The SMT theme is a bit dark for me. As in, dark to look at and deathy.

But then, I is female and likes pink and fluffy.

I recently got the Link theme that's on there and it's actually really nice. Very impressed by the 3D effect. Well worth the coin.

I just asked about the game a week or so ago and then it went on sale. its like it was meant to be. I think it looks fantastic. really smooth. I am playing on an original 3ds if that counts for anything, only a couple of hours to toy with it so far...but am loving it.

So is Noitu Love: Devolution cross-buy? Most sites i read says it has a discount if you buy both so just wondering.

One of these days I'll learn how to quote properly.

Yup I remember someone asked for a sale on Code of Princess, which is how it got on my radar. Wouldn't have considered it otherwise. Good, tempting sale price on it, though part of me wants physical copies for nintendo games. So framerate holds up on 3DS huh. I have a few more days to decide.

Bayonetta Amiibo isn't dead. Looks like the same pose as the Smash render, so probably will get more info on the final wave soon.
I would have a Bayonetta Amiibo on my desk. She's so detailed a character though that I can't imagine that any production ones won't look mediocre at best. The more detailed the Amiibo the worse it seems to look, it's the cleaner more solid characters that tend to come out really good.
