I've been using the large DSi stylus; no complaints and it's a lot more comfortable than the little ones they give you. Nintendo still sells them for $4 plus shipping and tax.

Was the extended commercial featured during the Super Bowl? I saw a shorter version focusing only on Zelda and I thought it was odd they didn't even show off the joy-cons separating.

No, they would have had to buy multiple slots to show the full thing, so they cut it to 30 seconds for the slot they bought.

My Wii U hard drive is starting to get reeeal sluggish in its old age. Anyone have one they recommend as a low cost, reliable replacement? Only need about 200 gb, 2.0 usb, etc. Anything decent still out there in that range? Or should I just spend the $50 on a 1 TB 3.0 Seagate?

Wanted to show my roommate something on my N3DSXL, so he grabs it from me and holds it by the top screen the entire time he's looking at what I want to show him.

Now I am paranoid the stress of just holding the top might have caused problems/strain on the system itself.. bleh.

Nah, I grab it by the top screen plenty of times. I play my 3DS near-daily and have had it since it launched. Don't be paranoid. It's a beauty of a sturdy system.

I'm with you. I get pissed anytime someone grabs one of my systems by the screen (even my vita, which... you know... touch screen). I dislike getting fingerprints and such all over them, or just having the thought of someone pressing into the screen too hard.

of all of the nintendo systems i had

i broke the hinge on one of the dsi xl lites

i broke the c pad on the 3ds xl

but just holding it like that i doubt it could do something.. unless they were shaking it like a motherfuck :)

Yeah, I just received mine, but the 200 points aren't actually in my account yet (despite the email saying they should be there).

Edit: I dug a little deeper into my point history and it turns out I received the 200 points a week ago (2/1). Little late with that email, Nintendo.

Not sad at all. You know what you like, that's a great thing. I'm sure there were many perfectly happy getting Tetris at the orginal Gameboy launch back in the day. It proved itself back then, hopefully this new blend with PuyoPuyo will ignite a similar kind of fire for the franchise.

 
Plantera comes out today   not sure if worth 5.. dont play it that much on steam and i think i got it free

anyone do punch club for  the 3ds  looks awful

trying to keep self from buying 

Legna Tactica  if its like any of their other games i would play it and hour and never go back.. too bad it wasnt 5

The 3DS import is perfectly playable in Japanese, more or less. (assuming you can play imports or have a JP system). Having played the import, I can't say PPT is a system seller, but if I bought a Switch, I'd want it for sure. Vita and Xbox One JP versions are region-free, FYI, so lots of options for other platforms.

is pp really that much safer than a cc? afaik it's fairly easy to handle fraud with a cc if something happens

I've had more fraud issues from paypal (3) than my credit card (1), honestly. All of the Paypal issues involved someone adding my bank account to their PP, PP not verifying the account at all, and then allowing the person to make payments from it. Different banks each time, and none of them had been used for any online transactions - one was a savings account that I had just opened the day before, hadn't even registered it to view online yet. Paypal was always reluctant to help, but my bank would refund me the charges and any fees within an hour, close the account, and issue me a new one.

I've used my credit card on XBL, PSN, Steam, and the eShop, and never had fraud on the payment accounts involved. That being said, after the myriad PSN hacks, I no longer store CC info on any of those, but that's just because I'd rather not risk it.

 
Still pretty new to DS world, uh, are all sales always so meh? Save Black Friday.

Also, how often are the coins actual worth spending?

I did get Earthbound and Super Metroid for a little cheaper with the coins. But the rest of the deals seemed mediocre at best.

Obvs not expecting steam level sales but idkdk
