Funny I just finished reading this regarding the shortages, I think stock issues are starting to get a lil better. I've seen it come in stock online more frequently at least once a week every week. Where we went probably a few months with it barely showing up.

Yeah, I see the bundles at Walmart and GS normally about once a week online, and I've seen 3 neon at my local Walmart over the last few months. But those only seem to last a day or two, as they are always gone when I come back a few days later.

The bundles why not always great, normally offer at least one game most people would buy anyways, so I might go that route in the next few months if I happen to try and get one for my son, as almost any of those bundles would work for him. Probably not the Zelda one, as we have that on the Wii U, but I don't see those offered much anyways, as normally they offer the newest games and accessories.

Switch isn't in the Best Buy ad this week though. Just games and accessories. They aren't going to put it in there unless Nintendo is sending them some stock.

My kids want one and I have about 400 in gs credit to blow on one. Just need some stock. The rep at gs said they expect quite a bit more stock in august.

I just did too, my kids really want one. Hopefully the order is fulfilled
I haven't seen any reports from buyers of these bundles reporting any cancellations or issues of any kind, so you should be OK(outside of being forced to buy the bundle in the first place of course).

so this system will be hard to get all this year?

even close to Xmas?
So far, "N" states there are production issues due to certain parts not being readily available. I would think they are getting ready for the holidays now, and producing as much as possible. Also releasing Mario early at the end of October is good move, as it creates less chaos at BF, and in to December.

Normally, near this time of year, consumers begin to conserve funds, in anticipation of Holiday shopping, so demand may slow soon, and if inventory begins to build on shelves leading up to the shopping season, it would help. But where "N" is involved in ANYTHING, just expect the NS to be in short supply and act accordingly.

Most likely. With Mario / Rabbids in August and then a big hitting Mario game in the Fall, they'll probably continue to be scarce. I really don't like retailers forcing you to buy bundles, but it's probably the safest bet if you want one ASAP.

I used istocknow yesterday morning and managed to snag a neon set at a nearby Target about 9 am local time. Inventory was accurate as that store received 6 gray and 3 neon consoles. I got the last neon set. All 6 of the gray consoles were still there when I checked out. Out of curiosity, I checked istocknow today and that store is currently out of stock.

Istocknow has been great for me. 2 for 2. Found myself a switch at a target a couple months ago (last one, wasn't out or in a case to be seen) and then found one for my cousin a couple weeks ago.

Since getting mine, I have seen the bestbuy closest to me, on 2 occasions, have a stack of systems at customer service that lasted a day or 2. Both times was at the same time as a big new release (Mario Kart and then Arms).

It does, "N" is clueless more often than not, but no way they leave Amiibo funds on the table.
Alright. What are they good for? Haha I have never bought one and I know for smash it would hold character data and stuff like that, but what do the link ones do for breath of the wild and any other games currently use them?

I own a few, but have never used any in game. My son uses them all the time, and in Breath Of The Wild, he gets tons of items and food when he scans certain characters. I think a certain one also allows for Epona, to be a horse in game.

Each game is different, as some offer costumes, or other things. Some of the Star Fox ones allow for the original Arwing to be used in game. You could probably type in a game title to Google, and add Amiibo, and see what you get, as it's probably to many things to mention per game, and per specific Amiibo character.

Oh ok thanks. I'll have to see if they are worth grabbing or not.

Yea my theory has proved false. I totally expected to see the Switch everywhere by now. Still can hardly find one at the local stores/mall. Guess it's still in high demand. I voted with my wallet when I could. Hope this keeps the momentum.
To the best of my knowledge Switch isn't breaking any records on sales figures this early in the cycle, so by comparison PS4 was readily available and selling like gangbusters.

The only demand for this thing is artificial; par for the course, Nintendo.

I saw 6 at my Target today. I'm surprised people are still having trouble tracking one down. They're not readily available but this is no NES Classic situation by any means.

Well comparing Sony to Nintendo is like apples to oranges. Sony is a huge company with thousands of products compared to the handful of electronics Nintendo produces. Is it really any wonder they don't have the demand on suppliers Sony or M$ would? If there was no demand I would imagine the Switch sitting on the shelves, but the fact that it's generally (I.e. Not 100% every single town) sold out shows there's a huge demand.

Also, not really sure what this "par for the course" means when I've never had a hard time buying any Nintendo product aside from th clearly stated limited edition NES classic.

Has anyone seen a Neon Switch at GameStop B&M that didn't require a bundle? Talked to an employee and they said only the gray ones came to the store to sell on its own.

Not saying there isn't some level of demand, just that it's artificially inflated. The example was meant to point out that despite Switch being "sold out everywhere", it has failed to topple precedents set by PS4 and other consoles in terms of early sales. Thus we can infer that demand is being perceived as high, when in reality it is simply being met.

This is just the MO at Nintendo, to create the illusion of demand to sell more units (via bandwagoning).

Can someone who is familiar with istocknow help me out?

If I go to the page below, it instantly lists out a bunch of stores with recent activity and their location.

http://www.istocknow.com/product/switch

Is there a way to filter this list or re-sort the results based on my location/zip code?

I really don't like the map interface.
Are you checking the box to hide stores without stock? That makes the map a lot easier to read at least

I received a notification from istocknow of a neon switch at Gamestop just last week (Southern California). I called the location and they actually had the switch, but it was fcfs. I'm not sure how that Gamestop had the switch; it might have been a return. Still, your best bet besides calling gamestop everyday is to sign up for notifications on istocknow because the site seems to work!

What does it mean when Brickseek says Limited Stock, but shows a quantity of zero?

Also, has anyone successfully been able to get a store such as Walmart to hold one for them if they have some in stock?

Usually means that the store had stock which ran out recently. As far as holds go, I don't think any stores are doing them, at least not in my area.

There are 5 Switch's in stock at Walmart at K7 in Olathe, KS if anyone is looking for one in my neck of the woods.

If anyone sees any around the Boston area, please send me a message.  I'd like a neon console, but I'll take a gray one.

Also, does anyone know why Brickseek is not working for Target inventory?

Try using istocknow.com, it has a live map which might be easier to find one near you.
