I ended up canceling my white preorder from Target and kept my GameStop preorder instead. My recent Target orders have been coming like 1-2 weeks after release. Still no shipped confirmation from GameStop but they did ship my Metroid Dread special edition order already.

Anyone think the Metroid Dread 2 pack will be tough to get? I have it pre ordered at gamestop online and I'm considering cancelling ad I will be out of town next week and was hoping to get it at launch but it hasn't even shipped yet. I could do a vacation hold with whoever it ships with, but if it's not going to be tough to get I can just cancel and pick it up later. I feel like the skyward sword amiibo has been pretty easy to get now after the fact.
 
Still nada on Gamestop. Definitely don't think I'm getting that thing on Friday unless it stealth shipped and just hasnt updated. Got an email about a day ago saying my Dread was shipping soon but not arriving till the 10th

 
Just got my target shipping email.

I selected the free standard shipping and it says it's shipping UPS and will arrive Friday.

However I don't see anything on UPS site yet for the tracking so I don't know what service it is and if it will actually arrive then.

 
Just got a shipping confirmation from GameStop for my white preorder

Nothing from Walmart about my neon preorder yet. I don’t really expect anything from them though. I think my ps5 preorder just magically showed up on launch day without any notification.
 
Figured the worst that’d happen tonight is no shipping confirmation from Target. I was wrong. My Switch changed to Backordered. Ugh…
 
(most) Target:

-whites are backordered.

-neons have shipped.

I say that because I have one of each on order and that's congruent with (most) of the comments on here so far.  But the white is only backordered to Oct 11-14 so I'm sure it will ship in a few days.

My white Target one is shipped UPS Surepost which is even worse than UPS ground.

No chance it gets here Friday even though on Target's site it says I'll get it Friday, but UPS says check back tomorrow for more information.

Target support just told me that according to their support memo, they're having inventory count issues where a bunch of people got marked as backorder when they indeed have a system for them. He said that it should hopefully be resolved today or tomorrow and if it happens to email requesting approval for the backorder, definitely don't cancel.

Hoping he's right.

Thanks for checking! Seems a widespread enough issue that I can believe that explanation. At least, like Mulder, I want to believe.
 
still no movement on the walmart auto price match neon OLED. might not have to decide between the target white and the cheaper walmart neon if they never ship it lol

Just got GameStop white shipping email.

Should be arriving tomorrow via FedEx according to the tracking number.

It's FedEx home delivery as the method.  Shipping out of York, PA and I'm in MD.

 
Just got an email saying my Switch was shipping soon with an Estimated Delivery of the 10th. I got one two days ago for Metroid Dread that also said the same but it still never shipped yet, so fingers crossed

Edit: Switch just shipped as well from same location with 10/8 delivery! Guessing my Amiibo will ship next, but if not luckily I have a backup Best Buy order for those

Gamestop just shipped mine with something called CDL Last Mile. Was expecting FedEx and reviews on the company are terrible so I'm pretty worried
 
Trying to figure out what time I should leave work as an "early lunch" to try and buy a white switch from GameStop. Traded in my OG Switch for $220 and figured I'd try to buy one tomorrow with the trade in credit
 
Closest store to me said 3 extra R/B units and 1 White. Didn't know what demand would look like tomorrow, but he offered to help me find one at another store if they didn't have any left. Gonna try my luck.

Same, but I didn’t get a shipping notification for my launch ps5 from Walmart either and that arrived on launch day. Walmart has been surprisingly reliable for me.
 
It looks like Best Buy charged me for my OLED today so that is a good sign even if it still says pending date on the site.

Same. My Metroid amiibo two pack has shown zero movement. Maybe they are planning on doing same day shipping tomorrow from a store? That would be too kind of them though...

I just received the same message, but my order still shows that it's being prepared for pickup tomorrow and i think my credit card got charged.

 
theres a couple listings for metroid + oled switch on best buy. im sure theyll go live in a 15~ min or w.e
 
If y’all are still looking goto gmestop at open. My store is small and we got 6 extra. The other stores around got 4-8 extra each also

Called my local GS and they said they would have 3 extra and someone is already planning on showing up at 7:30am to wait until they open. Since I have Friday off, I might show up at 7am and try my luck. If I get there and there is more than 3 people in waiting, then oh well. I guess I'll keep my regular Switch for longer.

I normally wouldn't wait that long, but with the regular Switch trading in for $260, this will probably be the best value I get for it. Plus, being early fall, the weather is just right that I won't be freezing or burning up while waiting outside.

My plan is to get to the mall at 7am or shortly after 7, get the OLED Switch when they open at 10am, then come back in the afternoon to trade in my OG Switch and pick up Metroid Dread and Far Cry 6.
