Thanks for those that posted about the GameStop trade in value for Pro members. Traded in my regular Switch last night for $260 in store credit.

I was able to snag a white OLED from Amazon yesterday and it just shipped for Monday delivery, along with some glass screen protectors I threw in. When I first ordered it, it didn't give me an estimated delivery date, so I made a back-up order at Best Buy just in case Amazon was canceled. However, I had $35 in courtesy credit with Amazon (they lost my husband's new computer case and sent him a second one with some courtesy credit), so I'm glad they shipped. Once I safely have the OLED in my hands, I'll cancel Best Buy (that one won't be ready at my local store until Wednesday). Now, I use the word safely because Amazon decided to ship via USPS. God help me.

I was on the fence about the OLED when it was announced, but I play a ton of handheld so I decided to make the jump, and my Switch is a launch model that's beginning to show some age. I guess I'll be selling to Gamestop to avoid the ebay nightmare. Hopefully they'll still do the $260 credit next week, but if not, no big deal. I won't trade in my old one until I have a new one in hand and $220 is still a great amount of credit.

 
The OLED Switch is…better than I thought it would be. Lots of good QOL improvements. I was mad it wasn’t faster, but the screen IS a big improvement. 

 
Any grip recommendations yet? My old one technically fits, but it covers up the volume buttons and headphone jack, so I can't really use it.

I think I'm going to try my old screen protector, though.

Yeah the screen looks really great. Playing Metroid dread and the colors are just bleeding off the screen. I don't play handheld a ton, but this is definitely going to make me play more. The screen size is awesome too, I didn't expect the small increase to feel so much bigger.

I have it and can confirm it fits on my oled. It’s snug sliding in but works perfect. It’s not all hard plastic, It has little pieces of foam rubber on the inside of the grips that is used to make it fit tight. Can post pics if you want

I think I actually would like to see pictures, or even a video. It's not that I don't believe you because I'm certain it works for you. I just don't want to squeeze the Switch in there too tight and screw up my Joy Cons or the rails.

The design looks like it should be okay. Doesn't block anything on the top. Kickstand isn't needed, but it also works as a clip to keep the console in so that's fine. Reviews are pretty positive. This might be the one?

Actually, the front clips may obscure parts of the screen on the OLED since it's bigger than the old Switch. Now I'd REALLY like to see a picture. I was close to just ordering it and trying it out.

Really? You don't want to risk scratching the joycons or damaging the rails on your new $350 OLED with some cheap molded plastic handle? What a weirdo. ;)

If it's too tight you'll wear a "shiny mark" in the plastic at the point of contact.

As someone who went through two other grips before landing on the satisfye on the switch lite and has something just like this on my n3dsxl (due to lack of available options) these cheap molded plastic things are better than nothing but they look and feel like the cheap Aliexpress garbage they are. The cheap ones will help resolve hand cramping but they unfortunately make your console look and "feel" cheaper from the plastics used.
 
I'm on chat with Walmart and they are telling me they won't have stock until 10/21 for preorders that were made back in July...

Yeah, I have a white one that is supposedly being delivered tomorrow, but also hasn't been shipped yet. Also I forgot, what was the deal with the $299 neons? Was it just that they randomly price matched outa nowhere for no real reason?

Yeah I preordered it on July 15th and then like a day or so later they just matched it for $299.

Target order “shipped” on Friday but the UPS tracker hasn’t moved from label created since then. Kinda doubt I’m going to get it tomorrow, like the Target site claims.

You won't, especially if you used free shipping, which was shitty USP Surepost.

Although, it did get to my local PO on Friday, and I called my PO and they let me come pick it up in person instead of it being delivered the next day.

My post office is cool with me coming to pick up packages like this if/when they come in. Will the UPS tracking status show it delivered to the PO or do I need to call them and ask?
 
I haven't paid much attention to this release but I have been really wanting a Switch lately. I went to GS last weekend and they actually had plenty of the OLED in stock; I was tempted to impulse buy one.

think mine on the target website said that it was handed off to usps

The UPS tracking also has the USPS tracking #.

UPS will say it was handed off, and USPS one will say they received it and it's at the PO.

I had never picked up a package before but I was going to be out all day Saturday and didn't want it sitting on my porch.

 
Of course the neon one i got from Walmart for 299. Is delayed any item I have ever ordered from Walmart that has been delayed has been canceled.

O well I guess.

How is the OLED in terms of weight? I noticed the specs say slightly heavier than the original. Is it noticeable?

I got a switch lite because I wanted ultra portable. But I’m thinking of trading switch lite towards an OLED and keep my v2.

I’ve had to add an extra arm day 😜 From every review I’ve watched, it doesn’t appear that it’s significantly heavier. The boxes for the OG and OLED also feel approximately the same weight even if they aren’t exactly.

Why keep the V2 though if you’re picking up the OLED? Wouldn’t the Lite and OLED combo make more sense, given the OLED’s status as a semi-upgrade to the OG and V2 Switch? I mean, I guess if you like joycons and want 4 people playing with the new stand that makes sense, but otherwise I don’t see the V2’s gaining much value beyond what they sell for now.
