I am looking for an inexpensive Hi-Definition Televsion for my Nintendo Wii. I am running it in 16:9 progressive scan with componant cables. I had a 32" Westinghouse, but it had problems displaying the 16:9 image.

I am Currently looking at 3 models:

Hisense LHD3206US 32" 1366x768 / 8ms / 1600:1 Contrast Ratio / HDMI / HD LCD TV with Speakers and Stand

Emerson 37" Widescreen LCD HDTV w/ Built-In Digital Tuner, EWL3706, 8ms / 1000:1 Contrast Ratio / HDMI / HD LCD TV with Speakers and Stand

Be careful of Tvs with the Ati chip in them (some Olevia's, and others), there is apparently a blurring/ghosting issues with 480i/p sources. That scared me off of getting one when Microcenter had that killer deal on BF. I know the 532h has one, I'm not sure about 332h, but It's worth checking.

I have an Olevia LCD with the ATI chip.

No problems with 480p sources (wii included) so far.

It's a great looking set, out of the cheaper brands, I'd say Syntax (Olevia) makes the best ones. Possibly losing to Westinghouse.

hi,
The Hisense has been getting pretty good reviews as well. The only negative I have read is a static speaker pop when changing non digital channels. That has given mea bit of pause.
The Olevia 32" Model I don't know much about, other than ESPN the Radio Commercials

I've heard good things about the quality of Emerson televisions. Not that specific TV, but I've seen the 32 and it looked better than other 32s I've seen. From what I remember, no problems displaying 16:9.
What kind of sweaty, greasy palmed dumbasses are constantly losing grip of their Wii Remote? I played the damn thing for about 4 hours last weekend, and never once had any problems at all. You would think that, after millions of years of gripping experience, humans would have it mastered by now, but I guess not.
Why did you bump this thread? I hope not just to post that asinine comment.
