Oblivion GOTY - Amazon - $9.99 ALL PLATFORMS
It's been this price for a while.
Really? It was $10 during their lightning deal, but other than that, I haven't seen it. Also, that lightning deal sold out...so it must be a good price either way.

I don't want to go to sleep, the insane 3am holiday sales have begun. I got in on The Last Story if they actually ship them. If I didn't have this already I'd be all over it too.
Shit's gettin real at amazon tonight
were there any other deals besides oblivion and last story tonight?

Sort of bummed with Bethesda after Skyrim and their PS3 support.

Any feedback on this one? I've read most of their games are equally bugged?
That's what he said. LOL
ha
The Last Story for $8
thanks!

i just wanted to make sure I didnt miss anything.

if im not mistaken this only has the shivering isles and Knights of the 9 right? Its missing all the usefull DLC like wizards tower and stuff, right?

Im tempted to get this but i really hated oblivion. It was my least favorite of the elder scroll games. Theyve been getting dumbed down since III, and that one was the worst IMO

^this question

I loved Morrowind the best. And I got the GOTY edition on accident from Gamestop too, which I didn't realize until months later. Don't remember how many hours I spent into the game, all I know, I was supremely overpowered (custom spells ftw!) and spent most of the time looking for the legendary weapons.

:O You...hate...it?

It doesn't have the other DLC, BTW.

Only Shivering Isles and Knights on the Nine. That's what it says on my copy

Steam will include all the other DLC in a bundle during the holiday for less than this right?

thanks guys... I think im gonna pass. Some of the DLC like the Wizards tower is pretty much a must. I got lucky and got it for free with an old OXM disk. The only reason id get this GOTY would be that it has a patched version on the disk i think. So if i go to play the game a few years down the road when XBL is gone i wont be screwed (original release was quite buggy)

Yes I hated Oblivion. Worst elder scrolls out there IMO. The auto leveling with the enemies killed any sense of accomplishment for me. You could beat the game at lvl 2 or 3 with no problem because of the screwy system. Its also where they started severely dumbing down the game system.. no more medium armor, no more wearing clothes under your armor, stripped down enchantment options... meh. The actual skill system was kinda broken too. You would actually want to put the skills you use as MINOR not Major skills.. very weird.

I havent really played skyrim much actually. im gonna have to sit down and give it a go, but the initial impression was it was a step back up from oblivion

Yeah, I got the Wizard's Tower from OXM as well, but it's not integral or anything. I liked Oblivion, but I never played Morrowind.
how is the pacing on this game? really slow and mostly dialogue like Fallout 3 (which I didnt like)?
much slower. If you thought fallout 3 was slow you'll go nuts wandering around in the repetitive oblivion gates

You guys thought Fallout 3 was slow and had too much talking? Hmm, I thought differently. But maybe that was because I just said whatever benefited me the most and when I traveled, I just explored and got around by jumping a lot. Haha

The only thing I wanted was to get any type of Laser Weapon and be finally be able to wear the damn Power Armour.

Fallout 3 would have been so much better if you didn't have to travel in those crappy tunnels so much. That really brought the game down for me personally. I never did play new vegas even though i have it. Did they fix that in the sequal?

Oh, you mean the Subways? Yeah, I definitely hated that part and exploring other tunnels. I always get sidetracked though and end up exploring everywhere hoping to find some unique weapon or useful materials or money.

Yeah, I don't remember a bunch of tunnels in New Vegas. Just a vast desert since it is a desert. I'm not sure if you'll like it though if you're not one for exploring and treasure hunting. (80% of my time in Morrowind was exploring/treasure hunting)

ya I feel you man. The game was super enjoyable near the begining when i just explored the wilds.. until i started having to get bogged down in those annoying subway tunnels. I am most DEFINITELY for exploring and treasure hunting. But its gotta be an interesting world. Static repetitive subways that all look the same and you cant tell what goes where is not my idea of fun exploring. A wide open desert sounds much more my thing, i'll have to give new vegas a shot it sounds like

Unless those subways took you to some creepy cave, which was once in a very long while. I just hated coming back to DC and being forced to kill those Super Mutants when you're late in the game, cause its just boring. But I loved hunting the Giant Super Mutants.

Great to hear you'll give it a shot. It was also fun to look around in the Casinos when given the chance.

Next up is Fallout 4! xD

You know if you have or get the pc version there is a must have mod called OOO or oscuro's oblivion overhaul that not only fixes it but makes the game 100% better... pretty much took Oblivion from a 7 to a 10 for me. Its a must have mod for anyone who hates the leveling system as it not only makes new items, new enemies and bosses, it redoes a lot of dungeons placing non-leveled monsters there and adds a lot of challenge to the game.

Its pretty much the most impressive user mod for any game Ive ever seen in terms of what it adds and fixes and there are not even any close seconds though Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines probably deserves mention for the community fixes.

Hmm.. no, actually i wasn't aware of that. I didn't have a computer at the time that could run it.. and now that my laptop died i dont again, hah. But im gonna get a new one here in the next few months so i may look into that. Sounds like it makes it more like Morrowind which is a good thing

thanks for the heads up

no problem, it really does eliminate the leveled enemy issue, also places a lot of non leveled loot in the game (some of it makes thieving in houses useful, though it can be hard to get some of the items) and if you ever do go back to oblivion and try it, it will totally change your opinion on the game.
